Yep when he mentioned aerospace, i was the person who introduced them to locally sourced aircraft grade alloys and mentioned the other companies who are now using the same aircraft grade alloys to make aftermarket car parts and components back in 1998, back when they were in the wooden shed. cheers. 🦘🦘👍👌✌
Also during my time selling Aircraft grade alloys i did come across a company in Werribee, making the new PBR calipers for holden and the new VT series 2 etc.🦘🦘👍👌✌
basically albins who did make the trans axles for the v8 supercars which are based in Ballarat and there plant is spot less air temp controlled through out and especially in the lab where the use laser measuring equipment and testing beds which are next level ,they also make the gearboxes for the porsche gt3 rs race cars used for the carrera cup series racing in australia. 🦘🦘✌✌😎😎
Exactly just imagine how good the place would be if we made things uno like from the steel we dig up to the perfect climate for solar industry or even the gas we export when there's a apparent shortage
So true. Good luck to Australia now that there are so many greens and ‘teals’ in parliament. No more gas, no more coal, no more digging, all this will be a distant memory under their ‘Green New Deal’
I remember that starting with John howard, he wanted to sell Telstra and went on and on about it, wanted to sell everything..can't see how this benefits us
Congratulations to Heath and the team. So many busineses going under. But some how they still manage to keep it all in Australia. I dip my hat. Would be a dream place to work at
nope they have official harrop dealer networks in the USA, meaning that they are just as good if not better than Harrop in AU, Milling machines CNC machines everything a Aftermarket parts manufacture needs to be competitive around the world but more importantly to Make and sell Harrop named parts as well. cheers 🙌🙌🦘👍👌✌
After suffering through years of lockdowns, the Ryco salesmen are back in full force. 🥳 I bet those distributors out at Swan Hill have been missing you Luke. 😛
Man being from the states we have some but Australia has the best shops I feel like in the industry I would love to visit there to see them all definitely on my bucket list much love for the USA 🇺🇸
The aussies came through with a serious build again I'm glad you promote the firm engine like you've always done the Barra the 4 cylinder escort engine rotary I must say Australia has a huge diversity of loving all cars
15:09 I hope Harrop are still developing their TVS 900 supercharger for the Jimny? 🤞 I'll be looking to boost mine once factory warranty runs out in just under 2yrs time now and pretty keen on buying a good quality product like Harrop and supporting us local Aussies 🇦🇺 Guessing there'd be more demand now too since we've had the new 4th gen since 2019, plus the new 4 door model releasing now late 2023 / early 2024, its got the same underpowered drivetrain in a longer and heavier body 😂 more people will be craving more power.
I think Im going to get some work experience at Harrop in the future, after my mechanic apprenticeship. This might be next level and suited to my intelligence honestly.
@@FishandHunt Difference with me is Im a worker. I work to get things done, properly and in a timely manner. Not many people my generation work like his Im seeing around me. I'll get there one day, I have a fair few ideas to manufacturer some car parts myself. Cheers.
What about those Rapid Prototype machines? Jay Leno had a video a couple years back about them bc he collects weird cars and bikes etc but can't always get repair parts so that machine was cool AF
With the collapse of Australias production of what we drive makes most Australian's sick... However we still have such a great knowledge to what's needed in engineering kick arse smarts of how it's done for the ride.... Get behind what we have 🇦🇺❤️
Does Harrop design and make one off parts? I need some one off rocker covers designed CNC'd based off the OEM ones but to work with Yella adjustable race rocker arms. There are a small number of aftermarket covers for my engine but none of them fit due to ancillaries rather than the rockers themselves. Harrop def are the closest facility to me with these capabilities.
I doubt Harrop do one off jobs unless you're a big customer of theirs. There still is smaller "jobbing" shops around Melbourne, just search cnc milling companies but expect to pay a fair bit for it. It would probably be cheaper to have one cast rather than machined cos that's a lot of material to remove
@@davidt3196 I have had parts made before but I used separate companies doing the 3D scanning/ modeling and the manufacturing and this is a pain when you need to coordinate the two make alternations and is costly. I don't know any place that does the whole project in house from start to finish which would make it more cost effective. Yes I agree, billet parts are $$ but for an all out build it's a non issue. I want it done right the first time. I have talked a lot with Aussie speed as they make cast tall covers but each version they make is worse. They make them for looks rather than function and is very frustrating and they are pricey too. I'd rather spend 2 or 3x their price and have it 100% right than mod half my engine and engine bay to clear their rocker covers.
@@3800S1 Any decent engineering firm worth their weight with a CNC will be able to do it. Just be prepared to pay for CAD input and R&D aswell as the manufacturing of the parts if you haven't already worked the design out yourself.
@@3800S1 Maybe hit up YellaTerra themselves. You're probably not the first person to have this issue and it could be worth their time to come up with a solution to be able to offer other customers too. I'm a fitter and turner myself and have been to their factory in Braeside, they have some decent cnc lathes and mills and in house engineering team

It's good to see Aussie companies thrive, unlike Australian government selling everything we own

Harrop is just next level engineering
Well done Harrop !! - Ironically, a shame that Ryco filters are now predominantly manufactured in China :(

@cletusmcfarland this is what the fox body needs

Great video lads. We need a new Bench Torque soon!
Love what they are doing can see it's a genuine motorsports company with tons of passion.
Harrop: impressive... as usual!
Thanks very much, it was amazing seeing my home town manufacturing excellence.
Love watching CnC, 5 Axis machines do their stuff. The mind boggles.🤯🤯🤯 The Bronco needs a Supercharged 7.3 Godzilla in it.
that monobloc caliper looks sick, bring it on to the market guys.
That’s gold! “Out of the car broken” 😂
What an awesome company, sticking to their in-house quality, not out sourcing parts from Chynah like a lot of companies in the U.S.
Brilliant, The insight is just so interesting as is the quality and standards they manufacture to.
Good timing i was just rewatching the godzilla vidoes last night. Makes you want to buy a blower

ill be purchasing a harrop charger soon for my ls3 hsv. good to see insight on the production and what it takes! great video!
Beautiful high end manufacturing
Love it Aussie pride 🇦🇺💪💪🇦🇺💪
oooh, a HARROP 302W supercharger on the old EBII 5.0 sounds nice!
Luke "i'd rather go in this than a 1000 horse LS" ........ Greta "how dare you!!...." .........
Awesome stuff !
I hope there is a 302 Windsor supercharger in the build.
great video guys!
I wondered why I saw you guys filming at Dandy when Turbo Yodas blown big block ate that camshaft on the dyno...
Yeah but no mention or footage of it? Woody probably hit em up for too much royalties 🤣

Holden Monaro CV8
