It works here because all the conflicts exist only to the other characters and he simply tries to help them with THEIR issues. The story accepts that he's a Gary Stu and doesn't try to hide it by trying to give him problems to overcome too, despite his obvious plot-armour. It's honestly almost exactly like Mary Poppins in that regard.

The hornet in the classroom reminds me of when a hornet got into my grade 7 class, someone started chasing it around with a hardcover Math text and wholeheartedly tried to splat the bee when it landed... on the window. Yeah, that went well. 😆
Only sad thing about the opening is that the band which sung it appears to have broken up, they had a music video and everything but it was taken down, don’t think there’s a full official version

I think you guys would enjoy watching "Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time" It has a similar vibe to this, short stories about some guy just doing what he does at school, but instead of the impossibly cool guy, it's the bored quiet kid secretly playing around in creative ways at the back of the class when he's supposed to be paying attention. The episodes are really short, but it's a fun show and I strongly recommend it!

I had to go to the hospital because of it. I will freak the hell out if one is near me or in my house. It's bad. I've literally held spiders, been around snakes and mice.. but bees and wasps? I'll leave the room, shut the door, put on a winter's coat and heavy pants, grab a fly swatter, and mobilize as if I'm going to war. My friends think it's hilarious how I act around bees and (mostly) wasps.

Normally I dont really find comedy anime funny and this series also has a repetitive formula but this is so over the top that I enjoyed it quite a bit. Definitely love how absurd it is like how Jojo and Golden Kamuy is
