I'm really looking forward to see how optimized tech rush builds look like for this faction. Probably dropping buildings along the way, turning some of them off, and then showing up on the opponent's doorstep with a timing attack with 1~2 of those spellcasters, a ton of energy, and minerals to hold the ground with batteries. I just hope they improve on this faction's sound design like they did Infernals over time, there's a ton of grating engine sounds and laser shots.
I had high hopes for this game but it's so painful to see how derivative it is. The generic and forgettable designs and names for everything don't help too. They might design the smoothest most balanced competitive RTS ever, but when it looks like this I don't see it finding wide success.
The moving main base is reminiscent of the Commander in Total Annihilation, and the nomadic way of mining is similar to Mongols in AoE4. I think this civ has enough elements to distinguish itself from what's inspired by. Can't say the same about the previous 2 civs, and it's a pity this game won't see more than 3-4 civs in total. Could have had a lot more potential if the previous 2 civs were more unique.
Probably a coincidence, but the new race seems more like genetron from scion custom races than protoss. Legit, the only thing protoss like is being high tech, and having power fields.
Genetron had a 4th resource, I think also called power, which powered the abilities of its units which had to recharge it by being near something at home that charges it, or if you have a unit that refills it. The power resource can also enhance your buildings, and is used for more than just units.
It's also reminiscent of stetman the coop commander. But yeah, the people who are complaining it's just a sc2 knock off are dumb. Who knows if it'll be good, but it's hardly a cheap copy, they races are entirely distinct with only some similarities
I don't get the camps. So when you kill mobs and get the camp, it gives you a buff for 5min? And it will respawn at a higher level that you can kill for a better 5min buff?
This is by far the most interesting civ yet, and the most original. The only thing that keeps me away from this game so far is the not-yet-known cost of playing this game, and the dullness of the first 2 civs. But I really think they've outdone themselves with this one. Looks way better than Protoss. And I like the idea of the angels actually being technologically advanced aliens. I think this has potential.
Is it really just fantasy hate from sc2 fans? Like obviously it looks better than AOE 2 (1999 release). It reminds me of league or HOTS. But as we all know not fully polished yet.
@@ChaseAnderson5k My problem with it isn't the graphical fidelity (a competitive RTS *needs* to look somewhat minimalist for visual clarity), but how generic it looks. They made a mechanically sound game, but they forgot to make it _cool_ - the graphical style looks like it's some kind of mobile cash grab, the units have almost no personality, the story, judging by the recent trailer, is a pile of cliches, and even the faction names are the most generic I've seen since 1997's Extreme Tactics.
That flying worker thing. Cmon what kind of unit design is that? It's just a flying mineral. The game just looks like a knock off Startcraft 2 at this moment. Maybe SC 2 alpha version was this bad too and we were lucky to see something closer to the final version but I still have no hope for SG.
Really excited for you to try this. I used to watch you for SC2 a lot in the past, and I definitely think SG has potential

Protoss and night elf had a baby and it went to red alert school

The world of rts might be saved when I see all those new promising games.
Or remaining few thousand players will be divided between games making them all barely playable
- Mom, can we have Protoss?
- We have Protoss at home
Protoss at home:
Probably a coincidence, but the new race seems more like genetron from scion custom races than protoss.

@@ChaseAnderson5k It's not a SC2 knockoff, but it's a mash-up of familiar gameplay mechanics from SC2 and WC3 with barely anything new.

BEASTY IS BAAAAACK
Hm. Are there no creeps guiarding extra resource deposits here?
why is the UI so big?
Because Beasty has the size at/near max
Still looks like indie mobile game though.
They literally have pylons for workers
these companies should learn to respect rts players. :D game isnt bad or anything. But poor dog gotta eat whatever he gets
Wow, it seems like they actually wanted this game to suck this bad, looks like those fake phone games.
4:00 immense big animals spitting rockers so cringe
They've been very clear that the creep models are placeholder assets
game looks a 2000 release man, its horrendous
No, it really looks like a 2024 game, like shit. 2000s games were peak, we can only wish for the game industry to come back to that quality.
Animals shooting rockets… cringe

RTS fans who whine about graphics. 10/10... no wonder the genre is dead
This looks so bad
Really does
Is this some kind of joke...
Sadly not.
I like the Starcraft-y mechanics but the visuals are terrible.

Brace for StarCraft simps
Bruh what crap is this???
Why the experienced guys made a such bad game
