I can't wait to get my hands on the soon to be released IF23 Pro. It has massively improved ergonomics. If the driver is decent, it'll be a game changer.
Finally, an excellent beamshot comparison between the three models! 🔦👍 I have the IF23 but have held back from buying the IF24. Should I decide on the IF24, it'll be the Pro version with the buck driver. This is a good demonstration of the IF23's brute force illumination (4000 lumens) vs the IF 24 Pro's focused light energy (1800 lumens) to reach the distance. I read that Sofirn's decision to use the clear floodlight lens was based on the results of a poll conducted on their Facebook page. The majority voted against the translucent lens that's fitted to the IF23.
The poll was confusing and I knew the majority would vote for the wrong option. After it was released, most were disappointed it wasn't diffused like the IF23.
I never visited the Sofirn poll page, only read what a few IF23 fans opined in BLF about the poll. However I can just imagine how confusing it was, the way Sofirn worded the poll though. ☺️ As an IF23 owner myself, I think the transparent panel cover that exposes the individual LEDs makes the IF24 look somewhat less premium. The side light is already designed to be a flooder. I don't know why anyone would want the side light to throw anyway. Sofirn had already chosen the transparent lens for the IF24 and it would be wasteful if they reverted to the translucent panel for the IF24 Pro.
@@StratmanII Well the poll specified "frosted glass" as an option and I believe everyone thought that meant the diffused IF23 panel. It was just so confusing and very frustrating to know everyone was voting for the wrong thing. Sometimes it's better not to run a poll and just ask a few reviewers on their thoughts.
@@PiercingTheDarkness Thank you for the clarification! I know what frosted glass is, but I guess the majority of the voters didn't. While "frosted" is the correct verb to describe a non see-thru panel, I think Sofirn was worried that the poll voters would confuse the terms "transparent" and "translucent". I think the word "translucent" is less commonly used compared to "transparent", therefore the poll organizers felt it was wise to substitute with "frosted" instead. I have zero idea where the majority of Sofirn's FB followers are from, but apparently flashlight collecting is a popular hobby in Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. 🔦🇹🇭 🇵🇭 🇮🇩
These are all significantly larger in size than the Arkfield with larger capacity batteries & higher output. A better competitor size and output-wise would be the Wurkkos HD01. I believe Wurkkos and Sofirn are associated with each other or sister companies, something like that. Anyways looking at the numbers, the Arkfield pro is much floodier beam while the Wurkkos is more throw oriented. The IF24 pro is even much more throwy still than HD01. Olight will have proven quality (durability, waterproof, drop tested,) lifetime warranty. It also offers UV & green laser which the Wurkkos offers but none of the Sofirns do. But they all offer side flood lights as well as multi color LEDs on the side and the Arkfield does not. I have the Wurkkos currently and it's a great light. I ordered the IF24 pro last week and it should be arriving soon (from China so slow shipping). Tonight I bought the Arkfield pro during Olights big sale. But based on owning previous Olights, quality and durability are top notch as well as efficiency.
I have the IF 24 pro and i didnt like the beam tbh but easily hot swappable with convoy's various tir lenses. Which make it an even better deal for me in the end
@@PiercingTheDarkness yes they are all my S2+ extras. Don't forget to reuse the o-ring that came with the flashlight. Have fun mix and matching to your preference. Cheers
@@PiercingTheDarknessyou're welcome. I was pleasantly surprised with the perfect fit. No finagling required. Just drop the lens, o-ring the retaining ring.
@PiercingTheDarkness It definitely takes a while. I actually have the pro and non pro version and tested each one on turbo and high and that buck driver is awesome for long runtimes. But for peak performance and short runs I do like the non pro that's why I have both.
Comment for algorithm. Wanted the if24 pro but when I saw peoples beamshots I was disgusted with the rings.. nah…. Btw I like the new profile pic. Saw it the other day.
Yeah, the rings are truly off putting, however I'm still considering to stock it in my store, or perhaps I go with the Wurkkos HD01. That laser power is illegal to sell in New Zealand though, so that's a risk, but who's going to know without any mention of the rating in the manual lol. Thank you
@@PiercingTheDarkness that’s a tough one.. I almost feel like the hd01 would sell better, but again with the liability… the pro may be the better bet, but people looking at this are likely going to care about the rings.. but the pro has a cult following form the if23… the hd01 is a newer design, so less base…but more people would likely be attracted to it… but it’s illegal… lol… my vote is the hd01 so long as it’s not likely you would be fined.
@@AverageReviewsYT I popped a Convoy S2+ TIR lens into the pro and now the beam is perfect. No fussing around trying to get it to fit either, just drop in and tighten the retaining ring.

Awesome video as always 👌! I actually have been enjoying both my if24's pro and non pro.
With the same main emiter sft40 5000k, what would you choose wurkkos td03 or if24pro??
I think I will stay with th 23. And pass on th 24 and 24pro
I agree, once you've invested the time and energy to learn the UI, you can keep it lol

So usually how long it takes for if24pro to fully charge? How to know 😂
You'll need to find that out from someone else's review, this was just a comparison video, I didn't even test the charging.

Sir, your vetting was excellent@Piercing The Darkness
These time charts are strange, because only the pro version has a buck driver...
That's because they're not long enough to show the IF23 and IF24 decrease. I didn't have time to run a full test as that would take too long.
