Thanks for coming to North Yorkshire again, Staithes Robin hoods bay Whitby and Scarborough are all along that coast line👍
Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley in Gloucestershire was always one of my favourites when I lived in Birmingham as it wasn't too far but felt like another world, nearby is the Puzzlewood which was used as a Star Wars location.
The rooms and food at The Saracens Head were good in the past and if you don't fancy Kayaking down the rapids there is or at least was a river boat.
The East Neuk of Fife, a coast full of gorgeous fishing villages, and chip shops. Then nip West, through Culross, Stirling & into The Trossachs - our Lake District. Incredible loch side driving.
Oh and our School holidays have finished so it'll be a bit quieter.
I’m lucky enough to live 15 minutes away from there, there is so many beautiful places to visit in Yorkshire Malham cove is absolutely beautiful and I hope you are ready for lots of steps in Whitby but it is so worth the leg ache 😂😂
Oh man! You’re in Saltburn? That’s my neck of the woods! Love the fact you have made it to a place that only locals (mainly) really visit! Thanks for showing the world our beautiful area ❤
Best to keep it Yours without disrespectful tourists spoiling it..
Too busy nowadays so i don't go anymore Blackpools better you can get parked spend the night and it's a lot cheaper 😢 your spoiling it keep it to yourself
@@gordonwright85 Saltburn is 'too busy' compared to Blackpool? Las Vegas is probably less manic than Blackpool.
Saltburn is gorgeous and mercifully unaffected by such drama.
@@hobi1kenobi112 I can remember the little boating lake they had in Saltburn that's sadly gone now, in the seventies Saltburn was as busy as anything else on the North Yorkshire coast, we had a caravan at the Hazel Grove camp site back in the day👍
I’m not sure you can compare Saltburn with Blackpool. Saltburn and Tynemouth maybe? Blackpool and Scarborough possibly? Definitely not Saltburn and Blackpool.
Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Saltburn, Redcar, Seaburn, South Shields, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay & Newbiggen-by-the-sea, to name just a few of the Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland seaside places worth a visit.
THIS MADE ME SO EXCITED! I saw the title and thought it would be Saltburn! I moved to Sheffield from down south 4 years ago and now me and my Fiancé are actually getting married in Saltburn at Rushpool Hall! (It's stunning) it's so nice to see things about there! Thank you!x
I'm an American who lived in the UK for two years and still regularly visits, especially the Northeast, where my family is from going way back in time. The whole country is beautiful, and so are its people. It's almost like coming home every time I'm there.
Been to Saltburn many times and it is indeed beautiful little place. Fish and chips, and a ice cream down by the sea is very hard to beat.
It’s wonderful how popular your channel has become. All your vlogs are so positive and charming. I’m sure you’re doing wonders for the U.K. tourist trade. I also think you captured the vibe of Saltburn perfectly and those fish and chips looked the business.
Yes thry like us not like the video calling a lot of our towns turd towns
Thry look forvactatty bit and film thatv
Saltburn is so lovely. All the East/North Yorkshire coastal villages and coves have a unique charm all of their own, the different layouts, the history, the beaches, etc.
There's a nice, clear light up at Saltburn alongside friendly locals who take pride in their history. When I visit the seaside there you can smell the air in the train carriage turning slighy salty and very fresh as you start to hit the coast. Such a wonderful area. When we had a supposed 'fish crisis' on in the UK during the pandemic (roughly translates as LOnDoN! being unable to offer a small piece of cod for less than £30), you could travel up to Scarborough and get a full fish and chip meal at Taylor's cabin on the beach for about £14, including thick chips, peas and a drink. The battered fish was just shy of small shark size and hung off both sides of the plate. I ❤ the Yorkshire coast, it's uncomplicated and feels free. I'm glad you're having a great time. ❤🎉
I'm so glad you guys are loving your UK tour. Your dog is probably going to be so confused when you head back home with the smells and the path 😂😂
Get yourselves off down to Norfolk and Suffolk. Also lovely places to visit and long beaches like Wells, Cromer.
100% agree we are at Sea palling ATM on our 2 week holiday from suffolk Cromer Crab is a thing of beauty we were at Happisburgh yesterday for a cream tea while taking in the view's of the red and white lighthouse
I love Norfolk
Not forgetting Sheringham!
You dont get the quality of fish 'n' chips down there.
Holkham beach
The reason the fish & chips taste so good in Yorkshire is probably because it’s cooked in beef dripping
The best soft sandy beach in the UK is Fraisthorpe, just south of Bridlington. It's also almost completely undeveloped and an even bigger secret.
You folks should get down to the West Country and visit Lynton and Lynmouth. Loads of amazing scenery, and remarkable (and tragic) history. Reckon you'd love it.
Called in during a week's coast walk a good few years ago. A lovely spot that made a pleasant contrast to
my own South Devon origins.
Lovely down there. Highly recommend Porlock too. The road connecting Lynmouth and Porlock is, quite entertaining :)
My favourite place in the UK Lynton & Lynmouth, just beautiful.
This is my hometown! So glad you loved it 🥰
If you guys are still there, you need to try the local ice cream called a 'lemon top' and the quintessential teeside takeaway, the 'parmo'
"TEESSIDE".
I loved this, Saltburn is now on my list to visit, what a beautiful coastal town. So glad you are enjoying your time in the UK. 🇺🇲🏴🇬🇧👍🏻
As long as you do not get drunk and vomit everywhere you are welcome.
It’s a real hidden gem of the UK, especially on a sunny day. There’s so much they didn’t show and tons of places within easy reach too.
I'm not sure if it's possible any more, as most place seem to have moved to cardboard or styrene containers, but the absolute best way to possibly enjoy fish and chips was always at the seaside, eating it out of the paper while strolling along the sea front. There was just something about eating it out of the paper that added to the experience/made it taste better.
My favourite low key seaside place in Yorkshire is Filey. Fabulous beach, cute little town and great walk along the sea front with just the right amount of food outlets etc.
Yeah. Filey is nice.
This is in my part of the world, so glad you found it. If you're interested in historical stuff in the area you might like to pay a visit to Preston Park Museum which is only around 30 minutes from Saltburn. I used to go there all the time as a kid and loved it.
Its not as good as it used to be. Also no penguins any more
I second this! I got married at Preston Park Museum. I love it there
The kids only ever want to go to butterfly world and the skate park
I am lucky enough to live in this beautiful town, never tire of the view.
We love Saltburn! 🌊 It’s a train ride away from where we live in Bishop Auckland and it’s a beautiful seaside! We hire the Beach Huts for the day on the seafront and it’s always a great day out with the family 😁
You two have done a wonderful array of videos on the charms of the UK.
Absolutely love watching you two enjoying the simpler and off beaten joys of this country. I hope all three of you are enjoying the trip as much as im enjoying watching it.
You have so made my day. I worked in a school just inland from Saltburn for over 30 years. No words can describe Saltburn.
Yeah - Saltburn is a gem - and you didn't even get to see the Valley Gardens or go for a walk on the Cliffs!! But it is lovely - a remarkably well preserved small Victorian seaside resort. It isn't very well known as it adjoins the rather grim industrial sprawl of Teesside rather than the more attractive N York Moors scenery like Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay or Runswick Bay.
I adore watching you guys producing these amazing travel vlogs, they’re so entertaining and a real treat.
You also do them incredibly professionally, to a standard I’d expect on television.
I’m not sure if you’ve considered doing this for a career, but I think you really should. 😊
Keep up the fantastic work, and the wonderful positivity guys, you’re the best.
🇬🇧 🇺🇸 ❤
My Dad lives in Saltburn it’s a lovely seaside town . You’ve also covered Durham where I live glad you like our UK 👍
It’s a lovely place is Saltburn and certainly less busy than Whitby a few miles down the coast. It’s possible to walk along the coast from Saltburn to Whitby, it’s part of the Cleveland way, though it is 21 miles, so anybody doing it in a day would be pretty shattered by the end. I love the Yorkshire coast, but I’m biased as I’m a Yorkshire man, but your reactions prove it’s not just us from Yorkshire who like it. Don’t know if you’ve ever been to Flamborough, don’t recall seeing it on any of your videos, but that’s just a fab place, one of my personal faves.
Btw my dog wears a doodlebum harness too and it’s the purple one, though in the past she as had the pink one.
You've totally sold it to me. Looks lovely. I'm Googling like crazy all the places you mention lol. It's somewhere that me & my son would love to go. Vintage vibes, pier, surfing, huge beach & fossils. Perfect! Thank you for sharing this.
We love Saltburn, so lucky to have it nearby. ❤
To add, perfect for a New Year's day walk on the cliffs with hailstones 😅
Fish n chips looks amazing. Surprised you didn’t get mugged by a seagull 😊
So glad you found Saltburn! I more or less grew up in "marske by the sea" a neighboring small town on the same coastline , the walk from St Germains footpath in Marske down to the beach then on to Saltburn across the beach is great. Only 2 miles or so but the Fish and Chips taste all the better for the walk. My dad used to fish at the end of the pier, many times over night in the early 50s when he was a boy after the war. The pier was longer then and had shelters at the end so they could sleep in them and take cover if the weather came in. Saltburn is getting more popular and rightly so a hidden Gem indeed , thanks for posting great work !
Glad you are enjoying yourselves and finding the more unusual places in which to spend time. Saltburn is a great place to discover more about the UK, not modern, not busy but with character. Enjoy!
I stay in Saltburn regularly and the people there are fantastically friendly ❤
Staithes just down the coast much more picturesque in my humble opinion 😊
You should explore Seaham, County Durham. 4 lovely beaches to explore, sea-glass to hunt for, historic points and lots of nice places to eat!
Oh yes.
What a beautiful beach, you do find amazing places and have shown me a huge deal about my country that I did not know. Thanks and love ❤️
Lovely! We have friends who hope to move to Saltburn next year so we're already planning a weekend trip!
Glad you enjoyed the simple joy if the 2p machines. One of my favourite things to do at the seaside.
Where's next? 😊
Another wonderful vlog. You two sure are fab at show casing our beautiful country!
Yet another great video, thank you for visiting the UK and giving us all great entertainment!
I know Ive commented this before but the place is so good I feel it deserves another comment, Beamish museum! is Amazing and I cant recommend it enough. Its not far from Salt burn about 1hrs drive. I guarantee you guys will love it PLUS its dog friendly .
Saltburn! Recognised it straight away. I'm a half hour drive away. Those 2pm machines were my jam when I was little 😆
These Hidden gem seaside towns are my favourite part of my country I love to visit. And along the way I try to spot any villages hidden along the country lanes.
Always enjoy your videos, keep them coming.
There are loads of these lovely little seaside towns scattered around the coast of the UK... And while it can be fun to visit some of the busier seaside resorts here... Sometimes you just want some peace and quiet... At a much slower pace of life... Where you have the time to fully appreciate your surroundings and completely relax... There's a TH-camr in the UK that visits a lot of these little coastal gems... His channel is in the three replies below... As it won't let me post the channels name in one go guys... Check him out for some inspiration and great content while he's on his travels around the UK. 👍

Love your enthusiasm and ability to appreciate the minor quirkier aspects of our country
Great video !!
I’ve been visiting Saltburn for at least 45 years - and it really hasn’t changed that much at all.
My parents used to take me - we would always start at the top and walk down through the Italian gardens - hopefully catch the little train if it was running - and always go to the Ship inn - supposedly a smugglers inn back in the day. I now do the same with my own kids - and we love the place - it holds a lot of special memories for us x
Cara and Jeremy, what an awesome video this is!❤
I loved your choice for music as usual, what an amazing vibe it gives off!☺️
That was a delicious looking fish & chips meal too, I am glad that it tasted as good as it looked!
The beautiful beachfront and shops were also a highlight of your video.
Thank you for another great video!
Ilfracombe, North Devon is a brilliant seaside town. Lovely coastal cliff scenery. And it's Victorian.
Your videos are lovely! I'm from the Midlands and it makes me appreciate how gorgeous the UK can be. It's particularly great that you do lots of 'ordinary' things like the arcade and chippy -- not just posh or stereotypical attractions. Hope you come back!
Whoa!!! I'm in Marske-by-the-Sea just 1 mile up the coast. You could see it when you looked opposite direction to the cliff. Missed my chance to bump into you😂 it's no secret either, it was a massive Victorian holiday hotspot and royalty came to visit for theirs
Despite being a Yorkshireman you've just given me my first glimpse of Saltburn-by -the-Sea.
I've never been further north on the Yorkshire coast than Staithes.
I'm currently working in Redcar.
Consequently, I've been swimming at Saltburn Leisure Centre.
But I've not yet ventured further in Saltburn.
I'll definitely venture further into Saltburn, on your recommendation.
As a Bowie fan I was impressed that the husband is also a Bowie fan.
if you're in redcar it's definitely worth a visit mate, especially since redcar's such a shithole, only 10 minutes by train
Excellent. Thank you. You are seeing more of the UK than some of us who live here.
I love all three of you. Such happy people.
Sometimes the simple pleasures are the best. Glad you enjoyed your visit. I like places like this.
Brilliant guys. Love you two. Xx
I love Saltburn! Glad to see the cliff lift is still in operation. I used to love riding that when I was younger. Fish & chips by the sea is the best! Also, you should try a lemon top icecream too if you're on the Yorkshire Coast...they're beautiful! 😋
Certainly a ‘hidden gem’. Very vaguely aware of Saltburn but never been, and never realised it was such an attractive seaside resort - great video.
Fish and Chips always seems to taste better the closer to the sea you get, I'm not sure why. Perhaps the fish is fresher but I suspect it's more to do with mood. All respect on going (or even hearing about) Saltburn - it really is very much a local day trip place and not widely known outside of North Yorkshire. I believe one of the local Teesside Industrialist families invested to try and develop a major resort there in Victorian times but for whatever reason it never happens and things like the pier and funicular railway are some the bits that built to try and support that.
Thank you, guys. It's now on my list when I next get over there.
You should head up the coast and visit South Shields. Stunning beaches, parks (one with a mini train) and a fair. Award winning Indian Restaurants and Award winning Fish and Chips and a Roman Fort as well as beautiful walks.
Thanks for your really appreciative commentary. Great fish and chips has always been a feature of seaside visits ever since I was a kid.
Welcome to North Yorkshire, lovely presentation you made thanks xx
Saltburn is nice, in contrast to some of the local areas which are less than elegant. It thrives but in a subdued kind of way. They make the effort to keep it traditional, clean and offer the basics without the tat! My Mother In Law was from the town and we spent many occasions there. Funnily enough we were in that fish restaurant for a sit down meal a couple of months back. The food is superb. A favourite with surfers but keep it quiet, let everyone else think Filey is better, which incidentally is where my parents live.
I had a summer job on a cliff railway one year; it was ok, but it had it's ups and downs!!😅😂
I Love it when you find good food especially when its the stuff I like, that's a proper Fish N Chips meal, Yummm, you guys are really rocking it this time. Good for you.
There's another good example of the cliff tram/railway in North Devon between the cliff top village of Lynton and Lynmouth at the bottom by the sea. It was used in 1952 to rescue residents from a massive flood. A rocky beach with amazing rivers running through Lynmouth and beyond with many walks. Recommend you to check it out.
Thanks for the memories, I lived in Saltburn, some of the happiest days of my life, walking my American Cocker Spaniel Truffle on the beach, we lived only one block away. Meeting friends at the Back Alex where dogs were welcome, strolling thru the Italian Gardens and the woods, a band playing in the bandstand on Sundays. So glad that you found it and experienced such a wonderful place and that your dog enjoyed it as mine did.
Just found u and subscribed. Loved the video.
Have you been to Lyme Regis, it's on the Dorset coast. There are lots of fossils on the beach in the round stones. Beautiful place to visit too. 😊😊 Have a swim in the sea its amazing.
I watch you guys all the time and you have been literally a mile away from where i live. Glad you liked Saltburn, you should have ventured into the valley gardens and ridden on the miniture railway.
So glad to see you love our beautiful country and showing it to the world. Redcar just up the road from you North along the coast is better than salt burn because there’s more to do when you get there and beyond the gorgeous scenic Cleveland hills with beautiful picturesque views and lovely old pubs in areas dotted around. (Hint go to Helmsley down the back roads there is a lay-by that has the most beautiful view in the world I think or go to Roseberry Topping for a beautiful view over looking the planes of the national park and it’s a great walk for the pooch too)
I am originally from New Marske just a few miles from Saltburn, I've walked that stretch of beach from Saltburn to Redcar hundreds of times. Some of the beach was part of our school ( Bydales County Modern ) cross country course. Beautiful coastline and brings back great memories. Enjoyed the video thank you.
Love your videos -keep up the wonderful reportage😂!
Yay can’t believe you guys made it here to my home, this is where I live. I love all your videos and your Whitby one was great too, you will find the whole of the North East coast is just stunning, we have lots of hidden gems sshhh.
Can almost smell the salty air in your company! I'm not familiar with this resort so thanks for the "look see"
enjoyed by this Devon-born old lad. We have a cliff railway in Babbacombe where I stay on my trips to my
family's neck of the woods. Plus a range of beaches and coves - and some top local fish and chip places!
Oh I live in Saltburn and have just watched this, wish I knew you were around! I love the place❤️
Hi, I'm happy you enjoyed your stay in our little town. I thought the weather was going to spoil things for you, but it looks like you managed to get out and about.
What a lovely couple you are and really pleased your enjoying the UK
Thanks for sharing ❤ such a lovely place ✨️ think someone else suggested Norfolk, but honestly, try Cromer it's our favourite seaside place 😊x
Please tell us you went along to Staithes?
I live in Wakefield (West Yorkshire). 3 of my favourite places to visit (not sure if you've been yet) are York, Knaresborough (N. Yorkshire) & Haworth (WestYorkshire). York has beautiful history along with been known for the viking era and the famous The Shambles Street & York minster. Knaresborough has a quaint town square, cafes down little streets, old castle ruins that sits high up overlooking the amazing viaduct. Haworth is known as Bronte Country, from the famous Bronte sisters. Its has a main cobblestone hill street with pubs, restaurants, quaint shops, art galleries etc on there.
Hi folks, saw you and stopped to talk on the corner of Diamond Street. So glad you liked my town!
So glad you found Saltburn a great place to visit, I have friends who live there and always try and visit 2 or 3 times a year, also Saltburn has quite a few really good restaurants that are worth a visit.
It was great to say hi to you both when you were visiting Saltburn. It's only about 40 minutes away from where I live so I come here quite often as it's a lovely place. I highly recommend Beamish for a visit when you are up North x 👍❤
ANY tourist to the UK SHOULD & MUST do this. Nose around places off the usual treks,it will always surprise & sometimes enthrall you.
We loved it.
Really enjoyed this video 😊
I'm told that the Saltburn Fish & Chip Shop was recently voted the third best Fish & Chip Shop in the country.
Youve both got a great outlook
If you walk up those cliffs on the right you get some great views. There’s also another remote little beach if you walk 3-4 miles along them, so nice in the summer.
Oh wow, I live in Brotton, just on that cliff in the background. I'm in sollie all the time, would of said hi if I saw you. Glad you enjoyed it. Saltburn gets super busy so you timed it right tbh. Few miles away is Staithes, I think you'd enjoy that, it's beautiful, give it a Google.
Memories of Saltburn; my brother's girlfriend lived in one of the Alexander Hotel apartments, so I have stayed there and yes, it's as nice as you found it. 🙂
Saltburn and seaview are one of my favourite restaurants and places to visit for the day. They have a lovely balcony to sit on when it's a beautiful day. Tomahawk is a chain steakhouse that can't cook a steak properly.
I live in Yorkshire but about as far from the coast as you can get! Hours drive! I’ve never heard of this place but it’s defo a hidden gem❤❤❤
Probably because it’s in Teeside/Cleveland which is technically North Yorkshire but on the local government and local level knowledge level kinda of isn’t known as that
It's funny, British folk consider an hours drive to be a long distance, when here in the states, I drive that far just to go shopping, or to go out to eat. There's no public transportation where I live either.
@@GaryYork-tk2ow the longest drive I’ve ever done was Reading(London) to Leeds Yorkshire about 3 hours! I’d imagine 50% of all adults in the UK have never driven that long. Yes USA you need a car cos your government/local council don’t give a sh3t about how you get places to make money for the government as long as you do😛
Been to Yorkshire a lot of times but never been to Saltburn. Love your vlog and your little dog is absolutely gorgeous.
There are soooo many seaside towns & villages in England that serve WONDERFUL fish & chips.Seafood in general is great. Anywhere in coastal Britain can keep you well interested if you're a seafood addict. It's triffic to see you take in the other "attractions". Using fingers for the food is a must! A+ ! Some of the fossils are amazingly old. Your curiosity will serve you well. Well done & enjoy !
Thank you so much!
Ah, Saltburn , you're back in our North East again ?
During the London Olympics a mystery knitter decorated this pier with little, knitted, figures all the different Olympic sports , it was all so cute ❤
Oh my !!! You are in my childhood home town ❤
I live local and I'm very lucky. Glad you enjoyed it
We had family there and used to go regularly in the sixties. Reminds me of holidays with my mum and dad 🥰
Just finished the video, did you make it down into the Victorian Valley Gardens? That's a lovely place to walk down by the beck and full of lovely flowers and trees.
