      I practice for 8 hours trying to copy the way yuto horigome does his kickflips, after very tiring and sweaty rag full sessions, I kept going and eventually reached the end of this painful journey, after 4 days i have finally have kickflips on lock just like yuto horigome!

      Exactly I'm a good skater or maybe great. But I asked another super good skater about my foot position for a tre flip because I was insecure about it and he said you can do it anyway you want if it works.

    I've done this with heel flips and kick flips.
    I found it more important to kick fast and let the board rise up into my foot.
    I don't put any energy into flipping the board, it spins easily from the board hitting my foot rather than trying to put my foot into flipping the board
    Edit: I've even put my foot almost facing completely forward. This helps get a faster kick which seems more important than power

    I also studied yutos kickflip and got a lot more consistent. my takeaway was that I need to focus on rolling my front foot so I'm doing the flick with the top of the toe cap on the grip tape instead of flicking it with the corner or the side of the shoe. once I started doing it this way i've been landing them more often and they're getting higher off the ground.

      Felipe actually taught me them no lie. I didn’t know who he was. I just thought he was some 15 year old. I Havnt caught up with any new skaters so I had no clue. But what your saying is 100% key. And also making sure that your front knee doesn’t go any higher once you start flicking. If you look at yutoknee it never goes up higher once he starts the flick.

    This is not entirely accurate. What you’re saying perfectly describes the shot of you & your feet at the end of the video. Yuto’s footwork is different. He starts at a 45 but quickly rotates to a 90 before flipping. This allows him more drag. The same scenario which you are suggesting he avoids. In reality, he drags at a 90° angle to get a lot of drag and height, which then allows his foot to flip with more power outwardly than most. Giving him both better height and flip speed.
    It’s hard to see and understand this, because it happens so fast.

  • @TheWedgeWizard
    @TheWedgeWizard 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

    To elaborate more on this it’s all about that precise, short little flick. You watch the best kick flippers and their front foot is basically on the front bolts and just give it a little flick compared to a big long flick.once you get them you realize how easy kickflips are and how when you’re relaxed they pop higher, flip faster & catch higher.

    Idk, I put my foot basically completely flat with my toes almost to the other side of the board and I won a kickflip contest once. You can get a really good pop and flick that way. I think people just do what comes most natural to them. Usually when people angle their foot like Yuto, the board will kind of rocket.

      when you learn new tricks and start to get consistent try to go to the next step up with the trick as soon as possible to keep progressing , and then when u go back to smaller step it'll be even more consistent
