Getting a good suspension is there best thing you can do to a car! I have B8 custom’s revalved and Eibach springs on my M140i and it’s damping so much better than stock. Cheers from NL
thank you! 2000 E39 M5 about to get B16 PSS9 installed, looking forward...will probably set them more for comfort, but will try 6 in front and 5 in rear to start...
How are they? Thinking of putting them on my E39 M5. I really enjoy the stock suspension so I am hesitant because I do not want to lose the comfort but would enjoy better performance.
@@spikespiegel2246love them! Have them set 7 in front and 8 in back…firm but not harsh…gotta be careful over some speed bumps however! I might change to 9 front/rear to experience. Easy enough since knobs are easy to access
Nice! I choose the AC SChnitzer RS suspension with a Nordschleiffe (fast road) setup on my F23 430i and my G29 Z4 30i. Best mod you can get, amazing handling ánd more comfort as well.
@@MDrives yes, they are actually KW 3 way adjustable but build to AC SChnitzer spec specifically for BMW. They are compression, rebound, and height adjustable. Checkout Achilles video testing a Black Z4 G29 with that suspension.
No. The setup feels perfect to me. I still haven’t play with the stiffness as so far it felt perfect both or bumpy roads around me and places like Nurburgring which is quite bumpy. Even at Scotland the setup felt perfect.
I have a '10 550 I e60, that is basically M5 w/o the v10.. Have done the brakes and various others. Look into the spherical bearings that Turner Motorsport makes for the lower front control arms. I haven't installed them yet. waiting for the B-16's.

I am currently running Eibach Pro Kit 20mm lowering springs and 12mm spacers all round and while the car stance looks amazing the car rides harder than your mom LOL. I need to upgrade to this setup mate. What was the cost ?
That’s why I didn’t want just springs. Honestly this feels fantastic. ML was the cheapest shop I could find in UK. The price might change but it was about £1700
Great review! Are you still happy with the standard B16s for the M2? Did you ever consider the Litchfield custom versions? Curious if there is a significant difference? Thanks.
bilsitein b16 is great, no more body roll and give so much confident, but on the high speed, it shake like hell when on the waving road when I am speeding (80mph+). mine has 5 all round

Very helpful, thank you! I've always wondered if I can make my M2 Competition a little more comfortable while maintaining the excellent handling and balance (and ride height) of the stock suspension. B16 seems to work. My only question now is... Bilstein B16 or KW V3 ? Any suggestions?
The reason why I chose B16 is that V3 can’t be adjusted at the rear after the suspension is mounted (rebound). They are however made from better materials
Hi. Thank you for the review. I am seriously considering buying b16 set for my Mazda 3 MPS. But I have come across some different informations. Could you please tell me what version are you running, because I heard there is normal and comfort version? I have seen some b16s with one spring on the strut or two springs on the shock as main spring and little "helper" spring. Thank you for your reply ❤
It might be specific to your car. M2 gets one version only. This weekend I will be releasing a video on my suspension as I was testing how the adjusting it affects the ride and handling.
@@MDrives Thank you for your reply. I got the information from MS 3 owner the version for MS3 has helper springs in the front. Looking forward for the review :)
Sounds like the dampers in the b16 are much better than stock OEM dampers. I bet the M2 feels like a bullet now! I need to upgrade my dampers on my stage 2+ m140 as it suffers the same as your stock oem dampers
M135/40i are completely different to M2. Stock suspension on M2 is harder and more crashy than mlites with lowering springs. So coilovers in your car would make it significantly firmer compared to stock. In my case it’s almost a reverse process and b16 damping bumps better than stock suspension on M2.
Well, you will be able to see it in the next video as Joe will be back an we will be comparing the suspension in our cars on a short distance to pick up on the difference in handling and comfort.
@@MDrives I look forward to. I own a 2017 M2 and I was considering upgrading to a comp. But I'm thinking to do like you is to drive them back to back. I love the sound of the N55 tho.
@@frankm0023 personally, I can’t see a point in upgrading to comp. The difference between the cars is very small in my opinion. Unless you are planning to get more power, in my opinion it’s hard to justify.
@@MDrives It's not only about power increase, it's the cooling of S55 that matters more. I prefer the sound of N55, but the cooling gain from S55 is definitely worth it!!!
Unless you drive it just on smooth city roads unfortunately springs won’t be great. M2 is too crashy and I’ve heard a number of times people complaining that after installing just springs cars were even more nervous.
Coilovers. There isn’t another answer. My M2 Competition came with eibach springs on it. Whilst it looked great the ride was shocking. Changed to Litchfields Bilstein kit and I’d say I rate it more than Marek does his B16s. It’s simply night and day different. I’ve spent shit loads of money on cars and mods over the years but this suspension is the best money I’ve spent on a car
'm just curious as to why you spent money corner weighting and geo'ing only to not have the suspension bedded in and then you're gonna adjust the height again anyway? Seems like a massive waste of money to double do...
@MDrives If it feels perfect, it shows you how there is significant wiggle room that you won't notice. Having said that, you're review of the skittishness of the oem setup and that the B16 removes that is great and I'm glad you're enjoying the car!
@@Hypersonik thanks. Yes after covering about 3000 miles with this setup and most importantly doing 1300 miles around bumpy roads of Scottish highlands I can honestly recommend this setup. Car feels so much gripper and smoother at the same time.
