    YES!!
Mahler, one of my very favourite composers.
"My music contains the world and everything in it".
The 8th is a great symphony (though the 3rd is my favourite) so good to see it here.

Jeff, this is literally the first time I've seen a reaction to classical music. Thanks.

    Thar was so moving!
The ending was like waves of the ocean breaking against the shores!

I don't believe I know of too many other genres of music that can carry our thoughts into such amazing landscapes in the imagination. This was, for me, an exquisite escapade through dreamlandia; a place my husband says I already spend a lot of time in.💖😻

I don’t know if you knew Mahler before this, but welcome to the journey of a lifetime the first time I heard his Symphony 2 I wept openly at the end. I had cried at music becfore, normally because it was sad. But that peace is about rising up. Literally Resurrection. I hope you put that in the list soon. I’ll be watching!

Isn't it fantastic!! As a choir singer, I have to say how heart-warming it is when your conductor is moved and delighted at the end of a performance, as he was in this case. Mahler 8 is an exhausting and challenging sing, but so worth the hours and hours of rehearsal. Thank you for reacting to this. I will definitely look up this conductor and the very impressive amateur orchestra!

Composed and scored in less than eight weeks!

A valiant effort by these forces. Next time you listen to Mahler, find a Bernstein performance, or a modern interpretation by a major orchestra and conductor.

Tremendous privilege to experience such sublime Masterpieces .
I was similarly blessed with 15 years in Bach Festivals (Carmel,Ca.) & I Cantori di Carmel ; Monterey Symphony Chorus ; Verdi & Mozart Operas (etc.) .
    Unforgettable.

The two last melodic phrases (first trumpets, then horns), you'll notice, are mirror images of each other.

The Second Mahler Symphony has one of the most beautiful finals that i have ever heard. Pure greatness! If you liked this give it a listen. The full symphony is about 1 1/2 hours long. Potentially 4th tschaikowsky symphony might suit you!
    Loved the reaction!
