Sharon, that is so sweet of you to say - and even to take the time out to write me... I so appreciate that! Hope you have a wonderful week!! Hugs!!! Nana
Those flowers were straight from the Dollar Tree and I just can't believe how well they stand up to all the pulling and pushing. Thank you for your kind words, and thanks so much for watching!!
Thank you so much! So pretty with Dollar Tree flowers! Who knew, right? They are elegant and beautiful just as they are but you really see them on the topiary! Thanks for watching!
Oh thanks! I've had to take a small break this last month or so but am gearing up to do more videos. I'm so excited for the change of the seasons. Videos like this one you did and others here on youtube really help to get me in the mood! You are an inspiration!
Thanks Sheneka! I wasn't sure if it would be too old fashioned for TH-cam, but those flowers from Dollar Tree are totally off the hook beautiful, so it doesn't matter, they are truly the star of the show! Thanks so much for watching!!
It really is Martika! When you look at the prices of Topiaries, you can really get disheartened... especially when they're so easy to make! So glad you found us, even more happy that you subscribed... WOW!! Thank you so much and thanks for watching!!
Yes, yes she does, LOL! Hahahaha! Sometimes it's best to just do your own thing without looking at what others do... it builds my confidence. It does sound funny though! LOL>>> . Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it, because I had so much fun making it! Thanks also for watching - your sweet words just make me so happy inside! :)
These were really pretty! Not to mention my favorite color. I have made a topiary in the past, and it came out pretty good. did not use the moss though. Didn't seem really necessary.
They're so easy Monica! Hope you let us see a picture of the one you do, come share with us at the Co-Op, the link is above... we're just a bunch of crafters who love to share our wares! Thanks so much for watching!
Spray glue on the styrofoam balls before the moss next time, yeah? :) Also maybe a tall, glued down square of styrofoam in the pot for the dowel to be squished into instead of the plastic top? DIYs are always a learning experience which is supposed to make it part of the fun lol These turned out really beautiful!
Melanie - it took exactly 15 bundles with 6 roses per bouquet. All in all, if you were to purchase them at a store they would be upwards of $20 each. So making it yourself is still the better bargain and they are such a classic, they'll never go out of style! I'm going to make another set for my master bath - but I will only be doing one ball instead of two - so that's another option. If you do make one, make sure you get a heavy vase, or put something heavy inside to stabilize it - otherwise it will want to tip over. Hope you do make one and put it on my Facebook page, I'd love love love to see it!!
Nope, I had some Neosporin cream, so once the ouchy went away, I put some on and wore a bandaid... It's much better now. Thanks so much! BTW, they do get how, I had no idea how much! Thanks so much for asking!!!
Someone had told me that, I forgot about it again!! Next time!!! There's always a next time, right? Hahahaha, what do you want to bet, I'll forget again? It's called old lady syndrome! ;)
Hi Buffy, I used 15 bouquets of the Dollar Tree rose bundles. There are 6 roses on each bundle so after checking my calculator, that's 90 roses! LOL!! Thanks for asking because up to now I hadn't done the math, hahaha!! That's a lot of roses and that is why it looks so beautiful! Conservatively speaking you can make this for under $20 IF you can find a better deal on the round styrofoam. One of the commenters said I could've used the green half round balls of styrofoam at the Dollar Tree and that would've brought the total cost down... I used four round styrofoam balls which were just under $4 a piece. This is a pretty long answer to your question, just to say you could do it for less by saving on the styrofoam balls - maybe even putting the two half rounds from Dollar Tree together? I may try that on a different project to see if it works! So, thanks for asking the question because now I can look into it! LOL!
Great Job I Was Also Wondering The Same ? How Many Flowers But lt's Like They Say "YOU Live & Learn on How To Make Things & That ls The Beauty That Comes With YT & Also Sharing With Others" I LOVED This Idea & Definitely Am Going To Try & Recreate lt Thanks So Appreciated
Murphy's Law! That's a great suggestion! I may do that for my best set! I'm going to do one more set for my master bath, I'll let you see it when I'm done! Thanks for the tip!
I also burned my fingers and got blisters and then I told my neighbor about it and she said to put mustard on it and it totally takes away the sting in the heat it totally works so if you get burned use mustard it works

hair spray is an awesome settings technique for the moss and will help it from flaking off while you are working on the flowers.

This is my first ventru back after Nana's passing last year in October. I have missed her cherry face and giggle!!
you could spray paint or acrylic paint the Styrofoam balls green! might come in handy when trying to cover with the moss. :)
Be careful. Some spray paints will melt / destroy the styro

So do you think you would be able to use elmers glue, that drys clear diluted with water for the moss ball? Not a fan of getting burned.
I would try it... I think if you use straight Elmers without watering it down it will work better. Good luck!
Beautiful. I subscribed
Awww... thanks so much! Thanks also for watching!
Do you think the spray adhesive would have been easier to get the moss to adhere?
Gorgeous I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
