Hello, Carole! So lovely to catch up with your week! I just love that your daughter is tip-toeing into the sewing room with you! What joy to share your beloved gift of sewing with your daughter. I’m hoping for the same thing with my little one someday! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Carole! Happy Sewing ❤~Tiffany
Hey Tiffany! Thanks so much for stopping by my channel at such a busy time of year. I am pretty convinced that Addy June will fall in love with sewing and she will have the best teacher in you🥰. Katie is still madly sewing the ears so not sure how long this will last and whether or not she will venture on to anything else but at least we go fabric shopping together now 🤣. Have a super weekend! 🧵💗
Isn't Deb just the loveliest lady to send that parcel? Honestly I just adore this online sewing community, it is like one big family. Thanks so much for your comment and for watching 😊🧵
We had a real cold spell followed by upper 60’s. It’s like the weather can’t make up its mind. A wintry jumper that does not have to be just for Christmas. What a nice package from Deb. Who knew mouse ears could light the sewing bug??!
You are right Christine, that is just a Wintry jumper really, anyway with a frost! I can’t believe how prolific Katie is being with those ears, they just keep coming and now she is making some for friends! 😘🧵
I love your Christmas jumper Carole! It looks so festive and warm too! The gift boxes are awesome! The gifts from Deb was wonderful. She found so many nice things for you! You deserve all the best! Your daughter is lovely… I can’t put two fabrics to get her either. She did so well. Thank you for sharing it with us. ❤
Thanks so much Diann, the neckline is such a cosy one yet so simple to do! Deb is so good at packing lots of different things, she is such a lovely lady and I'm so happy I've had the chance to meet her twice 👏🏼. Katie is still sewing ears madly as her friends want them now! I'm sure the fad will end before long though 😂. I think I need one of those colour wheels to help me with colours because I am useless.... that's why I like fat quarter packs, they've done the work for you 🤣. Hope you had a good weekend and are having a nice calm week 😘🍓xx
Thanks Adrienne, you won't be disappointed I hope! It is such a quick and easy make with such a cosy neckline. Please let me know if you do make it. Have a good weekend 😊🧵
Great video Carole. Beautiful makes. Your jumper looks fantastic I am so happy your daughter is showing interest in sewing. I can imagine how much it means to you. Can't wait to see your festive Friday video next week. Have a wonderful weekend
Thanks Agata for your lovely comments as always. I do love how Katie is suddenly sharing my passion for sewing and we went fabric shopping again today, hope it lasts that's all I can say. Hope you have a good weekend too 😊🧵xx
Butterick 6388 my very favorite pattern. Love the fabric you used for the two you made. It's my go to for days I need to be warm and toastie. I always enjoy your photos, you have an eye for taking the best details.
Yay another lover of B6388, people tell me the trousers are good too but I haven't made them, have you? I did make the vest on it but my fabric choice was bad so it look horrid! It is my go to as well and worn the burgundy one a lot this week. Thanks so much for your kind comments and watching 😊🧵
Hi Carole, I really enjoyed your vlog, your Christmas jumper is fab. I loved your gift from America, what a lovely surprise and how kind of your friend. Your Daughter is doing a great job with her Mickey ears, you must post pictures of you all wearing them. ❤😊
Thank you! Katie is so enthused making all these ears and yes, I am sure we will take photos with us in them!! Deb was just so generous to send that parcel, she is such a lovely lady. Thanks for watching 😊🧵
Thank you for sharing your coastal vacation. Love seeing videos of other areas in countries shared by sewing vloggers. It's like I'm there visiting. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thank you, I am so glad you enjoyed the photos. I just love our Country (when the weather is nice!) so I like that I can share the photos. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too 🎄😊
Thank you so much! It is so wonderful getting the chance to share my passion with someone....in person 👏🏼. I hope it lasts but I have got to tread carefully! Have a good weekend 😊🧵
I love your Christmas jumper, so cute. How fun to sew with your daughter. My daughter and I used to sew together all the time, but alas, now she has three girls of her own and her sewing time is very minimal. They are getting a bit older so maybe soon we will all be in the sewing room together. Looking forward to your Friday Festive sewing. I always love to see the cute things your create. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Carol, I do love that I can now talk to Katie re sewing and she understands what I am saying, not sure how long it will last though. How wonderful that you share your love of sewing with your daughter and as you quite rightly say, as they girls get older she will have a bit more free time or maybe your room will be full of sewists!! I really appreciate your kind comments, thank you so much 🧵😊
Carole, I have B6388. I'm dying to make it. No time LOL!!! I love your snowflakes on your Jumper! Perfect for Christmas. Great job. 🥰 Great gift boxes. I love Sew Very Easy! Amazing. It's called a scalloped lace. Lots of patterns you can use. Deb is so sweet! She sent so many treasures. I love the charm and ornament. I'm so thrilled your daughter is interested in sewing. She will always have that skill even if she doesn't stick with it. She looks exactly like Chris! Wow the resemblance. Enjoy Disney! 💖💖
Hi Grace! I have lots of those patterns I want to make with NO time whatsoever, what do we do with our hours in the Sewing Room! Too many gifts to make eh?! Deb is just the sweetest, of course you know that as you must have met her in March. It is such fun going fabric shopping with Katie and teaching her to sew, I have been a bit mean though and given her the cheapie machine 😂. As you say, even if she gets fed up with making the ears, she will have learnt the basics. How funny you think she looks like Chris, I need to look at that photo again! Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by 💗😊🎄
Love your Christmas jumper and the beautiful pix at the end (and everything in between, too, of course!). You live in a lovely area and I enjoy "going" there virtually very much. Hope your scratchy throat fixes itself soon!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your lovely comments 🥰. I am very fortunate to live in a pretty area especially when the sun shines! Have a great weekend 😊🧵
Oh Phyllis that is wonderful! I admire anyone who quilts as that isn't easy at all and you need so much patience, well done to her and to you for your encouragement. Thanks for watching 😊🧵
Believe it or not, yesterday and today were the only "normal" Florida day. It's been cold here - certainly not snowing but definitely sweater/jeans weather. But I promise we'll have sunshine for you soon ❤
Your tops are lovely and I absolutely love the neckline. You have been a very busy lady, making all those boxes and the pajamas for Katie. How exciting that Katie is showing an interest in sewing. The ears are adorable. I'm hoping for snow here even though I greatly dislike the cold. The scenery of your past weekend is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you so much Carol. That is such a lovely neckline as so cosy on the back of the neck, like a scarf. It is wonderful that Katie is beginning to show my passion and I can now have conversations with her re fabric etc!!! It was so exciting to have snow as we rarely get it as so near the coast. Hope you enjoy your weekend and get perhaps some warm snow?! 😊🧵
Oh I do keep meaning to try that trouser pattern, I make the jumper then put it back in my 'Tops' file and forget about the trouser part of it when looking for patterns! Thanks for watching 😊🧵
What a festive Christmas jumper! I love it, Carole! I may get that pattern, bc, I love how it comes up around the neck. I can’t stand the back of my neck being cold! Deb is so sweet! That lace is gorgeous! Would make beautiful sleeves! What a fun box from her! 😘💗
Snap!! When the back of your neck is covered I think that is the secret to being warm! I do love a scarf for the same reason but isn't always practical. Deb is just the sweetest person for the parcel isn't she and thinking of me. Sleeves...yes of course, that lace would be perfect especially as sadly my arms aren't quite as pretty as they used to be 😂. Thanks for watching and have a fun weekend 💗😘🎄xx
Hi Carole, I love your Christmas jumper, the fabric is just perfect!!! I am just like you, I don't like high necklines, we needsome breathing room😀😀. So nice to receive Happy mail, Deb is such a nice lady👏👏. Happy sewing and I hope you feel better soon😍😍
Hi Karen, thank you so much for your lovely, kind comments. Ha ha I love that you need a bit of space in your necklines as well but I can't imagine you need to be cosy living in permanent Summer! Deb really is a treasure, have you ever met her? If you get the chance you really must. I just have an annoying cold that isn't going anywhere other than my nose, I am sure I will live! 🤧. I did find it hard to talk for a long time and refrain from sneezing when filming this week though 😂. Thanks again and have a great weekend 😊🧵
Yay thanks for the shout out! Those Mickey Mouse ears are amazing and I’m so pleased your daughter is sharing your sewing space! That’s just lovely! I am so keen to get to Disney. Younger FrenchSeams will be 3 in February so I’ll be very keen to hear about how you get on!! I think you maybe enabling me on a big 4 pattern. Your Christmas jumper is beautiful. That neckline detail 😍😍😍
Hi Rachael, Katie can't stop making those ears and she made some really cute ones (without bows!) for the boys. Now she is trying to persuade my Hubby to wear them if she gets drum material 😂. I will report back on how Charlie ( the to-be 3 year old) gets on and how he responds to it all. Hee hee I love it when I tempt you into the Big Four world, to be honest....that neckline is easily done on any sweatshirt without the pattern. It is just a sort of pointed oval shape (like how you would draw an eye) as the neckband but made longer to overlap at the front and folded in half ( as in normal jersey neckbands). Does that make sense? Let me know if you have a go! Enjoy your weekend 😊🧵x
❤️ the Jumper. The pj pattern looks interesting. Must try see if I can purchase it here in SA. Always love how you take us at the end either on your travels or through your beautiful peaceful country. Look ward to your next week vlog.
Thank you Sharon. That PJ pattern is a good one and I have used the Bottoms for joggers before for me with great success. Hope you can get it as it hasn't been out for that long, maybe a year or 2? I am glad you enjoy the photos. Have a great weekend 😊🧵
Love your Christmas jumper! I don’t like close fitting collars, either, so I would like that pattern. Katie did such a good job with the ears. She is, obviously, creative. 😊-Deborah
Thanks Deborah! Katie is still going strong with the ears and is now making them for friends, without any help from me PLUS she is working with such tricky fabrics! Puts me to shame 🤣. It is a great jumper pattern and so simple to do. Thanks so much for stopping by 😊🧵
Our weather is so unpredictable and crazy most of the time. As you saw, my husband was in a T shirt on Saturday then we have had temps of -3c (26f) for most of the week with snow. Silly country we live in 😂. Have a good weekend 😊🧵
I love you Christmas jumper, Carole, so festive! Your daughter is getting good at sewing, what fun for you. My daughters have no interest in sewing at all. The pictures at the end are stunning. What a difference from day to day. Happy sewing!😀
Thank you very much Sue, it is really cosy. Katie is loving the sewing but not sure for how long and until 2 weeks ago she showed no interest so there is hope for you! Re the weather, we do live in a silly country. It has been foggy and -1c all day today and tomorrow it is due to be 9c and rainy 🤣 Hope all is well with you and you have a good weekend 😊🧵
Aw thank you so much Norma. It really is such a good pattern, I made two last year and will certainly make another as I just love the neckline. I really appreciate your kind comments, thank you 😊🧵
Nice winter sweater, Carole! Very appropriate given the early snow you had. So glad your daughter is enjoying sewing (and crafting) with you! Please let her know that her Disney ear makes are adorable!!! 🥰 What a fun happy mail package from Deb! Love the pattern charm. I completely understand about watching so many YT videos and then not having time to sew or do much of anything else. I subscribe to too many YT channels now and need to pair back. Thankfully, they don't all send out multiple daily videos like the news channels do. I'm just starting to make sets of microwave mats (similar to large mug rugs) and coasters for my neighbors down the street. I made myself a new set recently to double-check the finished size and I'm pleased with how they turned out, so now on to my gift making. Love your weekend holiday photos. What a (weather) difference a day makes! xx💞
Hi Dori!! Please don't stop watching me in your cut back of videos!!! I do understand though, I get quite overwhelmed on a Friday when they all pop up, especially if we are going away or have company. Deb is just the sweetest lady and so generous, I was so surprised to get that package. Now, microwave mats... that really intrigues me, I am not quite sure what you would use them for? How kind of you to make gifts for your neighbours, they must love you! Katie is having such fun fabric matching and designing these ears, now she wants to make some for Chris 😂😂. Thanks so much for watching and being kind as always, have a fun sewing filled weekend 😊🧵xx
@@socarole66 Oh, Carole! Yours would be one of the last YT channels I would cut back on!!! No worries! Microwave mats are used to put under your plates or bowls to help you remove them once your food gets hot without having to grab a couple of pot holders. You can then use the mats as a mini placemat for your table or counter, if you wish. A lot of sewist make bowl cozies, but everyone's bowls are different sizes and shapes. Microwave mats can be used for both plates and bowls. As for Katie's making a set of ears for Chris, please post a photo of Chris modeling them! LOLOL!!!!
You got snow!! I love your holiday jumper - really cool fabric! I’m more than a little jealous that Katie is taking an interest in sewing. How fun is that?! I mean, Marianne does hang out here regularly to craft, but I don’t think there’s a chance she’s going to want to borrow a sewing machine anytime soon. 😂 Beautiful pictures at the end… as always!! Xx 💞
We got snow!! We got snow!!! ❄️☃️Well, not that much and it didn't last long but at least the boys saw some flakes and managed to make snowballs! Katie and I went fabric shopping again today, it is so much fun but I am convinced it won't last long 😂, there is only so many sets of ears you can make! I have always been envious of you and Marianne crafting together. Hope you enjoy your weekend too 😊🧵
Thanks Diane!! Oh I am so naughty about starting new projects without tidying up after the last and now I have some of Katies' mess in there as well 😂 Have a good weekend 😊🧵
I love your jumper! The digital print is really cute. I have that pattern, and I think I'll have to try it out soon! The lace fabric is beautiful! Deb is so sweet! :D
Thanks so much Lara, if you have cold winters like we do then I would definitely recommend that pattern as it is so cosy on the back of the neck! Deb is indeed such a lovely generous person. Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by 🧵😊
I really like the neckline on those jumpers you made. You did a great job! And speaking of doing a great job, your daughter did a fantastic job on those Mickey Mouse ears. How cute! Wonder what she'll try next? I'm glad you liked the box of goodies. Did the Santa ornament make it ok? Hope you find use for the chalk marker. I really like them and, as you could see in my video, I now have several colors. LOLOLOLOL... Have a great week-end!
YES the little Santa Snowman made it in perfect condition!! I just checked back and it’s the one thing I didn’t show in the video 🫣. Deb you would love that jumper neckline, it is so cosy on the back of the neck. Katie has made about 10 pairs of those ears now and is making them for friends as well, it is great to see her with a little hobby, even if it is for a short time! I can’t wait to use that chalk marker, I’m doing a fleecy dressing gown for Chloe at the moment and it’s all marking by tailor tacks 🤣Thanks so much again for your generosity xxxx
Carole you are such a delight! Love watching your videos, so clear, informative and happy! Your snowflake jumper is just beautiful! I have made that pattern a couple times and enjoy wearing it. Did you interline the collar? Fun to have your daughter sew with you, very encouraging for a new sewer to have your guidance. Holiday pictures are beautiful even in the rain. I am always looking for snow. We traveled this past week and had snow through the mountains on the way home, not enough to write my name in. Look forward to your next post. Happy Sewing!
Oh thanks Kathleen, that is just so sweet of you 🥰That Butterick pattern is such a good one isn't it? I don't line the collar at all, was I meant to?!? I am worried now 😂. Somewhere along the line I lost the instructions, most probably in the mess in my room so I had to wing it when making them. It has been wonderful sharing my sewing room with Katie, hope it lasts! Now.. Snow on mountains is probably my most favourite scenery, how wonderful to have seen some already this year. We so rarely get snow and so much so, my Grandson ran round saying " I can't believe I am actually holding snow!!". How sweet is that 😂 Have a great weekend and thanks for watching 😊🧵
Ha ha that is so funny! I ama not sure what my hubby would say if I sewed through the night! I tend to stop at around nine so we can have an hour together before bedtime. 😊🧵
Hi! May I ask where you found such fun sweatshirt fleece? The Mickey is adorable and what could be better for a winter sweater than snowflakes. I so enjoy the photos from your country. Thanks.
Hi there! The Mickey fabric I bought from EcoBee fabrics in Ireland, sadly I've just checked and they haven't any left. It's so rewarding when people say they like my photos as these days, we don't show our 'albums' to anyone do we! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Hi there. If you look on my gift to November video I put the link in the description box to the Tutorial. Also in that vlog I give a couple of hints on how to make them. Thanks so much for watching and your comment 😊🧵
Hello, Carole! So lovely to catch up with your week! I just love that your daughter is tip-toeing into the sewing room with you! What joy to share your beloved gift of sewing with your daughter. Thank you Lorraine, I am glad you like the Christmassy Jumper, it really is cosy. Have a wonderful weekend 😊🧵
Oh wow! Snow and Snowflakes on your sweater! Awesome.😊 Deb is a sweetheart! Mail is always wonderful!
I know, how crazy was that as if we ever do have snow it is normally much later on in Winter....is this a sign of a hard winter I wonder?!😊🧵
I love your Christmas jumper Carole! It looks so festive and warm too! The gift boxes are awesome! The gifts from Deb was wonderful. She found so many nice things for you! You deserve all the best! Beautiful photos. It was lovely to see them as I visited that area with my son on a recent visit down south.
Oh Ann how wonderful! I didn't realise you had taken a trip over here, I do hope the weather was kind to you. Thanks for watching 😊🧵xx

Hope you enjoy your weekend too 😊🧵
Don't worry about your mess. My stays that way, even when it's clean.
Thanks Diane!! Oh I am so naughty about starting new projects without tidying up after the last and now I have some of Katies' mess in there as well 😂 Have a good weekend 😊🧵
I use a chaco liner marker. I love your Christmas jumper.
Thanks so much for your comment, I keep using weird fabrics so I haven't had the chance to use it yet! Have a good week 😊🧵
Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by 🧵😊
Take care of yourself! You have to stay well.
Thanks, it is just one of those annoying colds that is staying in my nose 😂🤧x
I have been up most of the night because I couldn't sleep. So I started sewing! My room looked like a tornado hit it!!!
Your top looks great! We just call then sweaters or sweatshirts in America.
Where can I find those soft boxes pattern please?
Hi there. If you look on my gift to November video I put the link in the description box to the Tutorial. Also in that vlog I give a couple of hints on how to make them. Thanks so much for watching and your comment 😊🧵
