I think Begonia are gonna trend this year, a lot of the people I follow seem to have fallen into the begonia rabbit hole, and tbh, I myself have a bit too. There's just some real stunners out there.
Claire from The Jungle Haven has a gorgeous Sinbad she just showed in her most recent favorites upload! I think it’s beautiful, it might change your mind for the better lol
28:00 I’ve been wanting the Sinbad for a while. Jungle Haven on here has a massive one, and it’s gorgeous 😍. That Silver Hero/Platinum looks stunning, and I have a thing for Scindapsus. Anthurium Luxurians x Villenaorum is a wish list plant. And so is Hoya pauciflora and a lot of other Hoyas.
I love those choices! My wish list plants are all Hoya right now since I’ve gotten busier and they can take my neglect. 1. H. calistophylla ‘Chibi’ 2. H. priktai Russian Clone 3. H. clemensiorum
I bought a 3 leaf cutting of a cane begonia and had the same issue. I now have 3 beautiful plants from it. I ended up cutting it in 3 individual propagations each with node and put in a lighted perlite prop box. They took off in there.
fastest i’ve rooted begonia in about a month or so is either in moss with high humidity and forget about it, and put it in soil and forget about it. most begonias propagate through leaves too, so you can try putting one of the leaves in a prop box.
my begonia recommendation for you is begonia dracopelta x kapuashuluensis. it’s a deep blue - black -green color. my top 5 wishlist for this year is begonia black blood, alocasia cuprea variegated, anthurium red crystal, stephania erecta (or some caudex variety), hoya undulata army/tricolor/whatever i saw on aroid market 🖤

Firebird with such colors is extremely hard to find. 80-90% just have one or two leaves with some color and rest is green,.
Highly recommend Sinbad. It’s really pretty, tends to be pretty easy with care, I like how simple the leaves are and the flowers are little and cute. Just a pleasurable plant to grow imo
Hey Kaylee, re begonia - I prop mine in a prop box with perlite (currently 2 months in and ready for pot). Someone somewhere made a video how to prop them - 3 different methods - perlite box came as a winner so I followed). Good luck 🤞🏼🍀
Oooh - I saw the begonia sp julau in person this weekend at a friend/seller’s house (sorry - US based) and let me say - it’s even better in person! The pink was almost neon!
As for rooting begonia I pretty often use a rhizzotonic or other rooting enhancing mixture and put it on moderately warm heating mat. One reminder woody stem won't root easily. If it's then I would cut the stem somewhere above where stem is green.
Well the monstera uno is named that because only one seed hybrid was viable and all the other seeds didn’t germinate. I’m guessing hybridising is very unreliable
Top 3- monkey tail cactus (actually got one for Christmas). Astrophytum any variation would do. Black blood begonia (attempted to grow this from seed in November but I accidentally let my medium dry out so I failed)
I love your wishlist, there are some cool plants on it 🙂 Top 2 on my wishlist for this year would be hoya compacta albomarginata and begonia sinbad. I bet I will also buy some anthuriums, but there is nothing specific right now that I am actively searching for 🙂
I just bought a black blood seed pack! I currently have Rex Tigers paws and Gryphon, and Cane Black Angels and huge a huge bush/tree of Lucerna. I love my begonias! They’re so easy to care for, grow super fast, and people always ask if they’re real when they see them
You won't be dissapointed by Begonia Sinbad, it's growing amazingly and is so so beautiful. The leaves are a bit pinkish when they come out and become more silvery over time. It's one of my favourites!
I'd recommend for the begonia that you remove the bottom leaf and any tiny sprouts of branches from that node and any bellow as well. Pop it back in water on a windowsill. XX
Cane begonias can take a while to form first roots but once they do, they take off fast. I root most of mine in plain water. And no need to remove any leaves from that cutting you have :) Between Sinbad and Lubbersii, although I do love Sinbad (possibly sharing some of the parentage with your Red Berry btw) - Lubbersii is more of a stunner. Something about those dark gothic vibes :) there's also a very nice hybrid of that one out there, lubbergei.
Really cool plants on your wishlist this time around! Ill be moving country so ill have to reestablish my collection, if i had to pick my personal top 3 to get again itd be a monstera thai con (nice and big), alocasia melo (bit smaller, nicely textured, lovely color) and an anthurium hybrid (my favourite rn is a (zara x michelle) x luxurians, giving me lovely leaves!) - i found them easy to grow without much intervention and gorgeous to look at :)
Ooo I love begonia so enjoying your new found love of them the top on my list is monstera mint, Florida beauty and varigated micans but I too love that monstera uno it’s gorgeous
Hi KE! Which you a spectacular 2025! I like and have weird hoyas. Almost jurassic: Clemensiorum, Undulata; Thin leaves: Insularis, Linearis, Mirabilis Clone A, Retusa, Spartioides, Sulawesiana, Yves Rocherii Fuzzy leaves: Hypolasia, Serpens Silver About begonias, try Bipinnatifida Hope you like my suggestions! And my top three: Phyllantus Niruri, Adenia Perrieri and Microsorum Thailandicum
I turfed a whole lot of my philodendrons because of space but I kept White Princess, ye olde common heartleaf, and one or two others. Flowering begonias do brilliant fr me in summer in Nova Scotia, whereas indoor, foliage types, nope. Mostly I have a lot of hoyas, a few scindapsus, several Thai Cons because I love this plant and it does well for me, and some flowering things like holiday cactus, fishbone cactus, and common as can be orchids. Oh, and I have a Meyer lemon causing me great joy. Mostly I just love seeing what OTHERS are interested in acquiring or collect. So I'll always enjoy your videos!
Sinbad looks very different than the pic you showed. It is more of a spearmint green with tiny dots. New leaves can come out pinkish. I've seen many and never seen one like that pic. Love your picks otherwise. I have a large collection but have been missing some I got rid of. Just got a cebu again, since they are easy to find now.
Love these plants! My plants have fallen to the back burner over the last year or so. I don’t have a wishlist for specific plants I’d like to get this year but this video inspired me to try to get back into collecting instead of maintaining. Maybe an alocasia dragon scale or silver dragon, a scindapsus and a Hoya pubicalyx! Would love a video on how you deal with having cats and plants at the same time, and some cat safe rare plants :)
Begonia darthvaderiana might be something for you. Discovered it recently but will not get it right now, because I have absolutely no experience with begonia. My wishlist is rather humble : aglaonema tricolor, sansevieria moonshine and maybe strobilanthus dyerianius. Love your videos!
Hey Kaylee - I work in a garden centre and we had a huge delivery today which included the most beautiful begonia masoniana river. I know it’s not an angel wing but omg it’s stunning!
@ from what I can find out online there’s the iron cross which is sometimes called mountain, river which is a browny colour, and jungle which is lime green. They’re all masoniana
I root begonias in a mix of half and half perlite and peat-free houseplant compost (The miracle grow stuff) in a polythene bag. Begonias are usuallly, terrerstriall, not epiphitic, so they don't like to grow in bark or moss - they need soil
Here in Oklahoma, the firebird is definitely growing in popularity. I think I’ve seen it selling for big bucks at Happy Plants OKC and they have a few other philos that look pretty similar as well. My top three wishlist are alocasia scalprum (we only just got them in big box stores but I’m never willing to pay full price for possibly infected plants), begonia burkillii dark form, and syngonium llano carti road. None of them are super rare, just things I want but can’t afford rn. That lubbersii is definitely being added to my list as well!!

There is Rapidophora Tetrasperma ghost, but its called White Monster. behaves like all ghost tho. Need lots of ligt to stay ghosty and leaves with age turn green.
Moss... trust the moss. Just wrap a ball of moss around the stem of the begonia and keep the moss from remaining soaked. Let it struggle a little while letting it breathe. It will root like crazy.
I saw the monstera UNO at the local plant market. Odd spot is local here to me and I have several of their other plants. I didn’t bother buying one because it will prop and grow very quickly. Lucky being in Australia for once
hoya multiflora ghost should be on your wish list, it is totally beautiful and as ghosty as phil. florida ghost 😊 And I most certainly would suggest that you should have some ficuses on your wish list. First of all I'm sure you would like ficus aspera cannoni because it's dark and such a beautiful shape of leaves. I think you would like religiosa in green or variegated form. Very rare but so beautiful diversifolia sp from Sumatra- leaves are tiny, round and very dark. And I would recommend ficus benjamina curly just because I love it and it's the most beautiful benjamina in my opinion. On my wish list there are ficus benjamina black diamond Ficus septica white Ficus aspera cannoni Greetings from Crazy ficus lady 😅
Begonia Sinbad looks so much like Begonia Don Miller (Steve’s Leaves) that I wonder if they are the same plant. Don Miller does not disappoint in person and is pretty easy care.
My experience with Homalomena’s are that they only do well in rainforest/cabinet conditions and I hate plants that have to be grown in cabinets or cloches. I used to be obsessed with the homalomena Selby and it didn’t even last 2 weeks in my home 😩
I don’t know if it’s a catfish or not but fair warning about the Begonia lubbersii. I shop from Steve’s leaves all the time for begonias specifically and their product photos the leaves are all green. And the leaves do look mature in the photos. So I’m not sure if it develops the black color from sun stressing or super low light I’m not quite sure but just a fair warning for anyone buying it specifically for the “black” look.
I have a variegated zz on top of my wishlist for the 3rd year in a row, definitely not ready for dealing with single leaf cutting economics that are still going 😅
Heya! Great video! I laughed when you said Begonia. I also didn't vibe with most of them. But I like the weird ones with the fuzzy stems. And any that are blackish. Anyway! My top 3 Wishlist plants are: Monstera BMF (I didn't get one last year so it's a carry over from that wishlist). I'd also love a Variegated Philodendron Tortum (way out of my budget), and Hoya SP. IV FROM WMZ (A1) (as seen on Rare Plant Fairy's site). I'm a little behind the times on new plants. I took a break this year after 8 years actively selling as a hobby. I moved states and got rid of all but 9 plants last April. I'm looking forward to starting again this spring!
Hey Kaylee, nice wish list! I have kinda of a bad news though, begonia Julau will turn green with white patches as it matures unfortunately. The pink is specific to juvenile plants :( But its really nice! Top 3: Tortum variegated, Monstera Oceam mint, Begonia Brevirimosa :)
Hey Kaylee. For the white ice, maybe try some sphagnum moss and bag it. It should root well that way. I love me some sphagnum moss. 🤪🪴👍🏼. Love, love, love your vids!!!!!!!!!! 😃❤️🪴
*a burle marks flame that has taken acid* Bahahahaha! Love! When you said “rare” at the start of the vid my brain thought of the other definition that makes me think of Shakespearen times: unusually good, remarkable, or cherished! Which could totally apply despite non commercial rarity ;)
I am not into begonias but there is one I would consider buying (if it weren’t quite expensive in my country), and that is begonia snow capped variegated. What do you think about it?
Begonia black blood is beautiful, found some in Canada actually only 3 hours from my house for $39.99. Would get but am afraid of shipping when it is -20°C
Hi 👋 when you start selling privately hun, what platform will you be using? Glad you kept the mysterious dark boi, maybe one day I'll manage to get one, they sold out too quickly in your shop 😢😊 your looking well, hope 2025 is kind to you ❤️x
If you do sell props of MDB through private channels, any chance of being able to ship to the us? I’ve been looking the last weeks to see if anyone locally is selling the mysterious dark boi ;)
might I suggest a new kick to your walls: Platycerium 👀 and other ferns. Begonias Wondering if you'd ever relook B. pavonina. It's display really depends on it's environment and maturity. B. I think Begonia are gonna trend this year, a lot of the people I follow seem to have fallen into the begonia rabbit hole, and tbh, I myself have a bit too. There's just some real stunners out there.
The Monstera Unniiae in the example photo reminds me of an Alien Facehugger. I wouldn’t sleep in the same room with that. 😂
Exactly what I was thinking 😅
@ it’s amazing how every photo I’m finding of it in every position STILL looks like one
Fluval stratum does wonders for fussy plants that have issues with rooting
Claire from The Jungle Haven has a gorgeous Sinbad she just showed in her most recent favorites upload! I think it’s beautiful, it might change your mind for the better lol

I want it!

Frugal stratum works so well for rooting cuttings
Sindbad is a very popular begonia affordable and absolutely stunning. ❤

Wow! That monstera uno is so pretty! I can’t believe it’s taken this long to get cross hybrids from monstera!!!
Well the monstera uno is named that because only one seed hybrid was viable and all the other seeds didn’t germinate. I’m guessing hybridising is very unreliable

Silver mist (cane) & Down home.
Both combine silvery, dark & sexy vibes in one :)

This channel introduced me to scindapsus platinum… I got one…. It’s one of my all time favs

I put my begonia's in a clear top container with spag moss not even in the moss just laying on top. They always love that and root quickly
Claire @ Urban Jungle has a gorg Sinbad and can prolly give you some good rooting tips.
Hoya heuschkeliana & Australis Lisa. I'm easy fixed. I've run out of room. Great vid. Thanks. 😊
i've been wanting the blood begonia for ages, i was always curious about why i've never seen anyone talk about it!
Check out Hoya coriacea silver if you ever get back into Hoya. It’s super easy to prop to make a nice big pot of it.
Ohhhh that P. firebird is very much up my alley! Even if it grows out of those colors, I think it's worth it for when the new leaves come.
Top two that I actually aim to purchase this year:
Anthurium Goliath
Philodendron Green Congo Hybrid
The others would be nice, but not necessary
Hey Kaylee - I work in a garden centre and we had a huge delivery today which included the most beautiful begonia masoniana river. I know it’s not an angel wing but omg it’s stunning!

Never seen the Monstera Uno, that's amazing looking! So is the black blood begonia...
Like a Burle Marx Flame that took acid🤣🤣 Perfect description hahah
Begonia Sinbad looks so much like Begonia Don Miller (Steve’s Leaves) that I wonder if they are the same plant. Don Miller does not disappoint in person and is pretty easy care.
Begonias root ridiculously fast in coco/perlite and i fertilize every watering.
We got Begonia sp. ’Julau’ for about 17£ and as much shipping to UK.
The monstera unniiae looks like the face huggers from the aliens movies
My experience with Homalomena’s are that they only do well in rainforest/cabinet conditions and I hate plants that have to be grown in cabinets or cloches. I used to be obsessed with the homalomena Selby and it didn’t even last 2 weeks in my home 😩
The unniiae definitely has a Monstera Burle Marx Flame vibe.
Yeah I would agree with that

I moved states and got rid of all but 9 plants last April. I'm looking forward to starting again this spring!
1)Sans. Bentels Sensation/ Sayuri
2)Euphorbia White Ghost
3) Philo Silver Sword
Euphorbia lactea or lactea cristata? Or something else?
I just ran across a listing for a baby Uno and I was underwhelmed and didn’t even search it up but now you’ve done it for me…. I’m keen!
Good to know! I saw one in person this weekend (just commented) and adored it - it was small, so juvenile makes sense. Oh well
I'd really like to find Hoya Heuschkeliana, Manjula Pothos and the Begonia Sinbad
Inner variegated poly hoya, the begonia that looks like a spider web. Wildfern's #1 plant and boogie cactus
Anthurium pallidiflorum, Hoya Undulata Red and Hoya Amarillo. Also some common Philodendron and a Syngonium Frosted Heart. Nothing earth shattering.
Some sellers are able to get things out of Australia but I’ve heard it’s super expensive!
Hey Kaylee. For the white ice, maybe try some sphagnum moss and bag it. It should root well that way. I love me some sphagnum moss. 🤪🪴👍🏼. Love, love, love your vids!!!!!!!!!! 😃❤️🪴
Love to have a begonia corallina lucerna and a begonia black magic.🥰
*a burle marks flame that has taken acid* Bahahahaha! Love! When you said “rare” at the start of the vid my brain thought of the other definition that makes me think of Shakespearen times: unusually good, remarkable, or cherished! Which could totally apply despite non commercial rarity ;)
I use vermiculite to prop my begonia. Has been in prop box for 1.5 months has 3" long roots now
Never knew there was a philodendron firebird. Its pretty. I wouldn't desire it
Cane begonia tend to take their time. I put mine back in potting mix and keep it damp. Water cuttings just don't work for me
The Monstera Unniiae reminds me of Epi. Sangri La in a way
Try sphagnum for the white ice.
Caramel marble, queen anthurium and christia obcordata
The monstera unniiae reminds me of a non variegated medusa
Reminds me of philo tortum ❤
Begonias seem to like rooting in perlite for me and I’ve had them transfer to pon or soil ok
I have a scindapsus platinum I can take a big cutting off if ur intrested
Is the philo firebird the same with fire princess?
I'll suggest a alocasia for your Gothic heart. METAL HEAD.
I probably mist it, but what happend with all the seeds and seedlings?
OK, I don't ever get my begonias to root and water. Put it in tree fir fiber
If you do sell props of MDB through private channels, any chance of being able to ship to the us? I’ve been looking the last weeks to see if anyone locally is selling the mysterious dark boi ;)
Monster Uno is like Dubia but less angry....
🔥🔥🔥
KEEP ROOTING IN WATER OR MOSS
Begonia love!!!
alocasia?
might I suggest a new kick to your walls: Platycerium 👀 and other ferns.
Begonias
Wondering if you'd ever relook B. pavonina. It's display really depends on it's environment and maturity.
B. Black blood is decently easy in cool and humid conditions - avoid overwatering. Other dark Begonias include erythrocarpa, erythrofolia, Black Metallic, baramensis, nothobaramensis, lambii, sp. Baik, daunhitam
