TheApothecaryAus my Mitsubishi has the exact problem now. It idles low and it dies when you put it in gear while releasing the clutch. And it takes a lots of times to start it up because ut has clogged carburettor. Now someone else is cleaning it for me as i don't have that exact tool......

Got the same problem mate, great little engine, built at 280k and still running at 300k
Poor thing sounds sick. Check your carby tune (clean it with carby cleaner too) + Timing. Can check out daiforum for a daihatsu community.
