All exciting news, I really admire how playmates is re releasing these classics, it really leaves nobody behind when it comes to collecting or just new fans.
I always wanted one of those movie star foot soldiers. Glad he’s getting a re-release. Also I got the sketch turtles last week from my target (had to ask an employee who looked them up and got them from the back for me), and I love them. I think playmates did a great job with them and brought their A-game this time.
I'm glad you'll be able to pick up the foot soldier and for a good price now too! It was one of the reissues that actually seemed to have the paint job spot on for it. And that's awesome man! I should have asked an employee too because they probably were in the back like at your store. Glad to know Playmates has taken the 40th anniversay figures seriously!

Shredder looks like the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz lol. The all black and white ninja turtles were pretty awesome. Coincidentally we’re heading to a ninja turtle themed birthday party this weekend. Your video was very helpful in helping us decide on a gift to bring.

I believe the reissue of the technodrome is slightly smaller than the original.

I got my og sketch ones at target. They told me they were sold out at one but the other target told me they had them in the back
Evidently I just didn’t try hard enough at the Targets I went too lol. I just looked on the shelf when I should have been much more vigilant! Glad you were able to get them though!

Thanks for the video! It’s weird paint apps would be worse with better tech today haha. I’ve seen customizers repaint every sculpted detail on the vintage figures and it would’ve been cool to see playmates do a deluxe type of release like that. Have you seen images of the walmart 40th exclusive which are the vintage turtles style but resculpted with a couple extra articulation points? That’s the one I’m most excited for but don’t have walmarts near me
It is weird that the paint jobs are worse, but it just seems to keep happening with them, lol. And yeah the customizers out there can do crazy awesome things with the figures, I would try it myself but I know my skill limitations, haha. And I've seen those and mentioned them in a past video but forgot to mention them in this one! I'll check em out, but the skin texture on them does worry me a bit.
@@Ogles yeh I’m worried about the texture too, has more of a frog than turtle vibe but still looking forward to it!

@@Ogles I recommend getting a picture of the bar code and then asking an employee to scan it and to see if they have any in stock, that’s how I got it!

I actually love the Turtles of Greyskull too! I've done a couple videos on the different waves and just don't think most people like them as much as us, lol.

Whats bizarre here is that Mutegen Man is now getting his accessories which were excluded from the 2022 4 pack but he's now missing his nail paint and purple foot paint. I sure hope this is not the case with the final product. I also hope Rat Kings eyes get fixed although the Splinter reissue had pupils so who knows.
Slash I haven't compared to the 2021 box set so I'm not sure the differences but it was already noted that the teal was slightly off and it appears the same here.
With these 4 and the last wave of 4 unique turtles I believe they are finally wrapping up the reissues. I think we may get a few more mutators but 2024 looks like the end especially with the release of the Technodrome. Although I think a Pizza Tosser is coming to end the vehicles.
Seems like they are just having a rough time getting Mutagen Man done correctly. And the eyes on Rat King will be what stops me from getting him. I never had him as a kid but wanted him, but not with these new eyes lol.
Slash’s color does seem off, but like I mentioned in the video, I don’t have ease of access to my original one to really find out soon.
And I could see them slowing down or stopping after this run too bc the 40th anniversary will be over and they’ve cover most of the main ones people remember from growing up. And the Technodrome would be a great way to go out, but I do love the pizza tossed too so I’m torn lol
@Ogles Everyone in my opinion is looking at these all wrong. Sure they are reissues and the quality on some are below what they were. But I like to look at them as variants. Black pants BeBop, Pupil eyed Splinter and regular eyed RatKing will all have their places.
People need to remember that these figures already exist and to get something like a regular RatKing ain't but a few dollars more than a new reissue. So far I have bought 2 of all the reissues and I'm happy they've gone this deep in the line.
Oh yeah last thing I forgot that I also heard somewhere was that we were getting a Metal Head and if that's true we could possibly get 3 more to round out the wave.
@ggary04 that is very true, they have their own place and not meant to replace the originals and have their own variants and such.

@supermarioplushboi85 I’m hoping to find the sketch turtles in store soon too! If not, I’ll wait til they appear on the Target website and get them that way. And the reissues paint is so hit and miss that prob won’t get them except for the technodrome, that’s just too cool not to pick up lol.

Know what ya mean, lol, they are putting a hefty price on the technodrome, but prob my only way to ever get it bc I know I’ll never be able to afford an original one!
the SKETCH figures are only sold at Target? that sucks. I don't have a target and the closest is in a city over an hour away

@@Scotty-Z70 They are pretty plentiful at the Targets near my home, but I eBay has some that aren't that much more than just retail. Retail they are $15+tax and eBay I'm seeing them go for about $20ish.
I need the slash reissue . I remember when I first started middle school and they started re-releaseing these. I was so excited to get the 4 turtles and mutagine man . The only ones i need for now is slash, splitnter, and krang

@@Ogles As someone who was born in the 2010s I've always wanted vintage toys but I had to settle for the crappy new stuff until I found out about swamp meets and online shopping . I remember when I found Mikey at the swamp meet when I was 9.

The technodrome is legit awesome and with a fresh Krang it’s a natural fit!
Possibly, the off-color reissues and missing parts are to prevent people selling on the secondary market as original.
It very well could be on purpose to try and prevent it, would def be a dead giveaway
I'm not saying that secondary have done, but I went to one store that had some pristine looking originals in baggies, I didn't check dates on them, though.
I never had the technodrome as a kid, i hope i can get it off amazon. I want to build a cave inside the lower part of my tmnt arcade cabinet and display it there.
That Technodrome is going to be amazing. But how did they mess up Shredder so badly?? It's night and day between the original and the reissue.
