@@drudan8957 I've actually raided it and it's overtuned. Especially on day 1. People were getting wiped on trash and bosses hit like fucking trucks. To be honest the mechanics are a little finnicky and very punishing. Even on normal you just die if you fuck up, there's no room for error.

Problem is Asmongold doesn't know the mechanics (second boss he was thinking attacking dogs or the boss mattered when they share health pools). He doesn't talk in discord, he doesn't coordinate. It's almost as if he expects a carry and gets upset when his strategy is bad, but instead of self-reflection he's kicking people for following his strats.

he never once kicked someone for 1 mistake, the people he kicked were people who messed up several times and had time to learn the fight. After like 3 hours they downsized the raid and kicked half the people.

They have logs already... Normal is and heroic are for sure overtuned. Its been stated by multiple sources not only that the average ilvl of 2 guilds ive ran with was 188 to 190.... And couldn't kill council bc the dot was ticking for too much. Heroic wasnt killed till after 1 am last night. Its super overtuned for certain bosses.

Took us 10+ goes, and we ain't a top guild, but we are good enough that we have been mythic raiding for the last two expacs.

I think the ‘overtuned’ side is a lot more fun imo, either way guilds get a hang of the raid eventually and the challenge works as incentive to keep people engaged in the content, when you one shot an entire raid first week you just feel like “well what now”
norm should be doable by playing 70% effort; HC with 90% (forgiving for some mistakes - but having to actually do the mechanics) while mythic is where ppl should be executing it perfect, and use flasks potions... it is definitely not fun wiping all over 2nd boss because blizzard does no longer know how to do their stuff. they became incompetent....

i remember the prenerf ICC HC times. It was very hard. Especially the 2nd boss, Putricide and Sindragosa. But it was a very long raid, a year or more, so the players learned it the hard way.

Not over gear it week one and then you sit afk for the rest of the tier. I pugged 6 normal 2 heroic first night and then immediately found a guild realizing pugs are going to be very hard to clear with. Isn't that what's been missing?

Well in fairness, if you've ever done progression, its always like this (maybe not on normal, but this is overtuned lets be honest) . The main difference is when you have a screen of thousands of people to the left of you screaming YOU SUCK OMEGALUL for hours on end. I'm sure it's way more frustrating to stream raiding, than just raiding.

To be fair, my guild that typically 1-2 shots every boss on normal mode, barely killed 3 bosses on our first night. I'm not complaining, but this is probably one of the hardest normal modes I've ever seen.
My guild did that boss on our first pull, was easy because two guys were explaining the entire fight very clearly. Nearly wiped due to the CC part, but we recovered well. Funny thing is that half of our guild are fresh to the game

I feel thats what sets other streamers apart. Other streamers like Anniefuchsia, Bajheera and Swifty, is they all realize that they're just as much a noob in a new raid as the rest of the raid, whereas Asmon and Mcconnell get all mad for dying when nobody in the raid, including them, has any idea what they're doing and are winging it.

The feeling of content not being blown through is amazing, you shouldn't expect top guilds to day 1 raids that means blizzard didn't do a good enough job building that raid.... but leave it to the player base to complain about real challenges. The raid would have gotten easier once we weren't all 180 itemlvl.

I don't think the boss/raid is too hard. I think you just need to gear up a bit in M+'s because people aren't geared enough so fights take longer than they should. This is the first raid, gotta be geared up for it. It wouldn't be fun if we could clear this in the blink of an eye. Think about this, we will have this raid for a few months.

The funny thing is that this is literally what he asked for. He has complained numerous times about how there is no visual progression and now that he got he cries and whine about it.
Biggest issue seemed to be people not anticipating tank movement then people go out of range of heals and shit goes sideways. In your closest attempt that final long boss move definitely is what killed the raid.
The raid being difficult keeps it entertaining. I can’t count how many times we wiped on day 1.but it was a non stop fun cause it was actually challenging
Finally we have tiered progression raiding that will take time to complete. Not overtuned. One of your own points of criticism with raiding has been clearing heroic on week one and then spending months upon months clearing mythic. The majority of the community, even if clearing heroic, has zero business raiding mythic. I'm very happy Blizz has finally put players in their proper place and that it will actually take gear and effort to complete across all skill levels, not just one of them. Sorry, but being a baby week one if pretty pathetic given your own feedback about how to improve raiding.
Of course raids should be harder, but it’s also important to remember that the raid has three (four) difficulty levels for a reason. This is normal and should, by all rights, be pug-able. Heroic and Mythic on the other hand would be reasonable to require the level of coordination typically found in guilds - but not in a normal raid. This raid IS overtuned. It’s one thing to have mechanics that punish you if you mess up, but in a normal raid that shouldn’t include wiping a whole raid for having a second delay in reaction time. It’s unreasonable.
While I'm just a casual raider who don't raid to win, but just to have fun, Castle Nathria is definitely harder than previous raid tiers on launch. But I don't mind it, it's a good challenge and there's no reason we should be clearing it in the first week anyway. We'll be stuck with it for months to come anyways. But yes, it's harder than before, that's for sure.

During sludge fist, we had to pug a few DPS. I was linked with a hunter. Over disc, the hunter pug said something about parsing. Sounded like he was talking too someone in the room with him. During the chain link phase, I popped demonic gateway and ported over too break the chain link. No pars for hunter.
We progressed really fast, in a pug. 4 wipes on huntsman, 6 on inverna and 5 on Xy (which is crazy since shes easy compared to that other two), but Xy was with another pug. The rest were 1 or 2 wipes due to it being week 1 and getting used to mechs
Maybe finally something hard enough to keep race to world 1st a bit longer( because of Christmas I wouldn't be suprised if they keep sludgefist "overtuned" until new year).
To be fair, Asmon was trying to down this boss while 1) using pugs, and 2) not using Discord with anyone except Mcconnel. That definitely adds another layer of difficulty on an already difficult boss. The other element here is that most people are only in Mythic+0 gear. I agree that the boss is probably overtuned, but there are other factors working against him here. But also, let's be honest. Everyone knows he could join a guild in retail and down these bosses, but taking pugs/viewers and struggling on bosses just makes for entertaining content. In small doses, anyway.
It's really getting gear most these fights are healing and DPS checks so really you're going have to farm M+ to get around 190 ish to have more a better time in normal before jumping into heroic.
Payo made the same mistake twice on the first boss, i think he applied to join the raid group as a joke and wasnt expecting to get an invite which wouldd explain why he had know idea what he was doing
guy has been playing this game for 16 years 12 hours a day and he does not even have basic knowledge of what toolkit each spec has outside of his precious carried warrior. Raid is hard, but its a good thing. If its easy he would complain, if its hard he would complain, one thing stays the same though, he gets all the gear and shit for free from viewers, he never really had to actually try for anything outside of few achievements. Its quite sad if you think about it

I'm just glad that normal and heroic won't fall over by breathing within range of the bosses this tier, that's a nice change. Lower difficulties NEEDED to be harder. They should just remove LFR and make normal queueable at this difficulty.
I did Sludgefist with my guild and the fight was such a stupid dps check fight but we got him down. Sludgefist should become weaker each time he hits a pillar to make him take more and more damage at all times. The testers of Sludgefist probably also had really good gear, they were not equipped with 179-190 gear or whatever people had when the raid was released. Normal mode ''sludgefist'' was tuned towards people that had heroic raiding gear 200+, which makes no sense at all.
Regarding his final raid statements. Then why does he claim that mythic plus giving raid equivalent gear is bad if he hates raiding? There are tons of people who also hate raiding for the same reasons. At least in mythic+, you can easily identify the problem behavior and correct it. I know it invalidates gear but raids do that to themselves anyway.
gotto agree, seems like they tunned it pretty good for todays standards with all the addons and removed all the wellfair that have been in last 2 expansions. TF itself ruined the tunning and difficulty.
Don't get me wrong or get it twisted. The raid is hard. It actually is one of the hardest normal mode raids I have seen, but it definitely is doable if you get a solid group of lads and communicate properly what to do and not to do. This, however, is a recipe for disaster. Yelling down the comms and kicking people who did really well on damage because they messed up a couple of times is not the way to go. Asmon is not a good player. He isn't dying and he is doing damage, so he must be doing something right, right? Well, if the healers didn't heal him and keep him going they would be told they suck and get kicked. This is the weird thing about streamers, the power dynamics are skewed so completely off that no matter what Asmon does or doesn't do he is right in the end, and the people who hold no power will be wrong.
We aren't that far in.. we used like 4 hours with a random pug, going in blind.. took down 5 bosses.. bet it gets harder, but is it gonna be THAT hard?

I watched him kill the prior bosses, start a few pulls on Sludgefist and then I took a 4 hour nap, woke up and he was still trying to kill it.

Give it a couple weeks, people will figure it out. Sludge is the final dps check so people were not ready or dying stupidly.

Well in fairness, if you've ever done progression, its always like this (maybe not on normal, but this is overtuned lets be honest) . The main difference is when you have a screen of thousands of people to the left of you screaming YOU SUCK OMEGALUL for hours on end. I'm sure it's way more frustrating to stream raiding, than just raiding.

To be fair, my guild that typically 1-2 shots every boss on normal mode, barely killed 3 bosses on our first night. I'm not complaining, but this is probably one of the hardest normal modes I've ever seen.

My guild did that boss on our first pull, was easy because two guys were explaining the entire fight very clearly. Nearly wiped due to the CC part, but we recovered well. Funny thing is that half of our guild are fresh to the game

Just play with people who know what they're doing or get in a discord. I feel thats what sets other streamers apart. Other streamers like Anniefuchsia, Bajheera and Swifty, is they all realize that they're just as much a noob in a new raid as the rest of the raid, whereas Asmon and Mcconnell get all mad for dying when nobody in the raid, including them, has any idea what they're doing and are winging it.

@@CottidaeSEA not true, in Shadowlands gear matters a lot more than in previous expansions, base stats matter, to backup my statement it took a mythic first guild Complexity limit a whole day to figure out they can't do the HC version, so they had to go clear normal first and today they got the kill on Sire on HC
@@Obantrash No, Blizzard nerfed the raid because the player base complained, even tho we wiped 17 times and downed 5 bosses in 3 hours I had a damn good time. The feeling of content not being blown through is amazing, you shouldn't expect top guilds to day 1 raids that means blizzard didn't do a good enough job building that raid.... but leave it to the player base to complain about real challenges. The raid would have gotten easier once we weren't all 180 itemlvl.

No,he has routinely said that retail raids were way harder than classic raids. He has talked about the general game difficulty being lower, and the content being more boring and repetitive, both of which are true.

I don't think the boss/raid is too hard. I think you just need to gear up a bit in M+'s because people aren't geared enough so fights take longer than they should. This is the first raid, gotta be geared up for it. It wouldn't be fun if we could clear this in the blink of an eye. Think about this, we will have this raid for a few months.

Biggest issue seemed to be people not anticipating tank movement then people go out of range of heals and shit goes sideways. In your closest attempt that final long boss move definitely is what killed the raid.
The raid being difficult keeps it entertaining. I can’t count how many times we wiped on day 1.but it was a non stop fun cause it was actually challenging
Finally we have tiered progression raiding that will take time to complete. Not overtuned. One of your own points of criticism with raiding has been clearing heroic on week one and then spending months upon months clearing mythic. The majority of the community, even if clearing heroic, has zero business raiding mythic. I'm very happy Blizz has finally put players in their proper place and that it will actually take gear and effort to complete across all skill levels, not just one of them. Sorry, but being a baby week one if pretty pathetic given your own feedback about how to improve raiding.
This is finally a raid that we deserve. It's loads of fun and challenging. Work hard for your gear and get good

Of course raids should be harder, but it’s also important to remember that the raid has three (four) difficulty levels for a reason. This is normal and should, by all rights, be pug-able. Heroic and Mythic on the other hand would be reasonable to require the level of coordination typically found in guilds - but not in a normal raid. This raid IS overtuned. It’s one thing to have mechanics that punish you if you mess up, but in a normal raid that shouldn’t include wiping a whole raid for having a second delay in reaction time. It’s unreasonable.

While I'm just a casual raider who don't raid to win, but just to have fun, Castle Nathria is definitely harder than previous raid tiers on launch. But I don't mind it, it's a good challenge and there's no reason we should be clearing it in the first week anyway. We'll be stuck with it for months to come anyways. But yes, it's harder than before, that's for sure.

During sludge fist, we had to pug a few DPS. I was linked with a hunter. Over disc, the hunter pug said something about parsing. Sounded like he was talking too someone in the room with him. During the chain link phase, I popped demonic gateway and ported over too break the chain link. No pars for hunter.

We progressed really fast, in a pug.
4 wipes on huntsman, 6 on inverna and 5 on Xy (which is crazy since shes easy compared to that other two), but Xy was with another pug.
The rest were 1 or 2 wipes due to it being week 1 and getting used to mechs

bruh, this man literally spent 12 hours in a raid and only killed 7 bosses on normal kekw.
To be fair, Asmon was trying to down this boss while 1) using pugs, and 2) not using Discord with anyone except Mcconnel. That definitely adds another layer of difficulty on an already difficult boss. The other element here is that most people are only in Mythic+0 gear. I agree that the boss is probably overtuned, but there are other factors working against him here.
But also, let's be honest. Everyone knows he could join a guild in retail and down these bosses, but taking pugs/viewers and struggling on bosses just makes for entertaining content. In small doses, anyway.
It's really getting gear most these fights are healing and DPS checks so really you're going have to farm M+ to get around 190 ish to have more a better time in normal before jumping into heroic.

guy has been playing this game for 16 years 12 hours a day and he does not even have basic knowledge of what toolkit each spec has outside of his precious carried warrior.
Raid is hard, but its a good thing. If its easy he would complain, if its hard he would complain, one thing stays the same though, he gets all the gear and shit for free from viewers, he never really had to actually try for anything outside of few achievements.

Sludgefist was painful to watch. I did find it funny I was able to do all of my dailies, max tier torghasts, weeklies, etc. before they called it.
Everyone throwing around words like "overtuned", i dunno maybe its because most people going into the raid dont even reach full m0 gear, and the way it is now it will not be braindead in 2 weeks like every normal raid before it?
I'm just glad that normal and heroic won't fall over by breathing within range of the bosses this tier, that's a nice change. Lower difficulties NEEDED to be harder. They should just remove LFR and make normal queueable at this difficulty.

I did Sludgefist with my guild and the fight was such a stupid dps check fight but we got him down. Sludgefist should become weaker each time he hits a pillar to make him take more and more damage at all times. The testers of Sludgefist probably also had really good gear, they were not equipped with 179-190 gear or whatever people had when the raid was released. Normal mode ''sludgefist'' was tuned towards people that had heroic raiding gear 200+, which makes no sense at all.

Regarding his final raid statements. Then why does he claim that mythic plus giving raid equivalent gear is bad if he hates raiding? There are tons of people who also hate raiding for the same reasons. At least in mythic+, you can easily identify the problem behavior and correct it. I know it invalidates gear but raids do that to themselves anyway.

gotto agree, seems like they tunned it pretty good for todays standards with all the addons and removed all the wellfair that have been in last 2 expansions. TF itself ruined the tunning and difficulty.
Don't get me wrong or get it twisted. The raid is hard. It actually is one of the hardest normal mode raids I have seen, but it definitely is doable if you get a solid group of lads and communicate properly what to do and not to do. This, however, is a recipe for disaster. Yelling down the comms and kicking people who did really well on damage because they messed up a couple of times is not the way to go. Asmon is not a good player. He isn't dying and he is doing damage, so he must be doing something right, right? Well, if the healers didn't heal him and keep him going they would be told they suck and get kicked. This is the weird thing about streamers, the power dynamics are skewed so completely off that no matter what Asmon does or doesn't do he is right in the end, and the people who hold no power will be wrong.
