    Great demo. Gets to the point. Shows what you say it shows. No fooling around. Thank you!

    Very insightful demo...didn't realise my El Capistan's potential until I watched this demo. Very appreciative of the demo!

      @@michaelpalumbo8755 They're both very different pedals. The Nemesis does a lot, and the ping pong, panning, arpegiating, and pitch shifting it does is superb! The Avalanche Run is more like a stereo reverb with a good delay. I use both equally as much.

    A friend of mine has the Avalanche Run. I fell in love with it immediately. I love that distorting feedback and the oscillation. The trusty Boss DD7 oscillates in a cool way too.

    • @DoNoise

      Yeah it is really nice and actually very useful when you want a quick dramatic rise.

    Nice Demo. I can work with either the El Cap or the Nemesis ( both really nice ). I own the Boss DD-500 and it has considerably More Control over this type of thing. I am very happy with it.

    Next time get a Stigtronics! Too few vids out there. But this is a great one. Completely different textural applications for the hold feature given its character. I am a Big Avalanche fan, myself, but love the sanity of the Nemesis and sophistication of the Capistan. Thanks for posting a good breakdown video.

    Great demo: for old school tape echo The Strymon sure can't be beat. The avalanche needs a straightjacket. Nemesis: very nice sounding but a bit too clean for my taste. I must confess I grew up in the 80s and you were listening to Pink Floyd and King Crimson all the time. Funny how I still have ideation over that era's analogue sound effects

    • @gonebymidnight2881
      @gonebymidnight2881 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lord Stompy Catalinbread does the tape echo so much better than el Cap, but I agree that from these 3, el Cap has the edge at simulating tape.

  • @NoCoverCharge
    @NoCoverCharge 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    nemesis is clean..but the AR is unique and smooth

  • @TheFlutecart
    @TheFlutecart ปีที่แล้ว

    The El Cap does a very good tape feedback overload. Volante does it even better.

  • @lukesandroni3436
    @lukesandroni3436 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    El Capistan has a decent compressor and won't let it's delay overpower anything the way the Avalanche Run does, and Nemesis seems to be cleanest. But El Capistan still wins in my book cos of the glitch proponent and also echo flutter potential. Thanks for the demonstration, man! About to buy the El Cap (:

      @@enkiea8322 Sorry, just saw this. Nemesis only does the "freeze/hold" thing with the onboard switch but if you connect an external switch, it can be assigned to feedback oscillation.

    On the nemesis, is the wet signal lost when you're holding hold so all's you hear is a clean/dry over the top of it?

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maz Klassa yes, exactly. New notes don’t get added to the held loop.

  • @benjihollister
    @benjihollister 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    im an avid avalanche run user but i fucking hate the hold on it. just too loud too quick almost unusable unless your level is turned way down

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it is better for quick dramatic rises instead of long delay holds.

    • @dahliafiend
      @dahliafiend ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love the reverb. Delay is solid but the weird expression pedal noises aren’t useful musically to me. The hold sounds bad like its gonna blow out s a speaker and the reverse mode was a big disappointment. Selling it though i wish i could keep forthe verb.

    Why is Nemesis' mix at 10 o'clock while the other two are at noon?

    i wish the nemesis had more on board control of the delay like the dod rubberneck has. otherwise i would’ve stuck with it. i just need time control for the repeats but you can’t change that unless it’s on the app, which to me. is lame

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure what you mean by “time control for the repeats”. Nemesis has a time knob, and the controls on the pedal itself are almost identical to Rubberneck. Maybe I misunderstood something?

  • @thegimpsometimes5937
    @thegimpsometimes5937 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why is the mix set lower on the nemesis

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mix knobs of these pedals behave differently. I set my Nemesis to 50/50 wet/dry at noon while the others are 50/50 at around 2 o'clock setting.

    the nemesis seems more useful but the EQD is more fun, but with the nemesis you could actually hold a phrase and play along with it,
    ya know, if you didn't have to hold the button with your finger, haha, just kidding! nice demo, thanks!

    • @DoNoise
      @DoNoise  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      joe kimberlin thank you! There are more options for hold and oscillation when you use an external switch with the Nemesis. There might be a latching hold option.
