Very cool! I've recently been trying to put together a small Indy display (had some cool pieces years ago but had to sell) As soon as I finish repainting my light up Ra headpiece I think I'll have to get into this project!

That light up headpiece is a killer idea. I've been trying to figure out gold plating and using headpieces as the test case, kept trying to source cheap lab grown gems to use for the eye but never could find one that fit the shape/size but didn't cost a small fortune so I'm still just using 3d printed transparent red gems, which are kinda meh.
If you get into your Dial build keep me posted! I've been making more of the smaller sizes lately b/c they fit in the messenger bag and resin builds turn out nice without me having to pour sand and concrete into the prints to get the weight right. Check out the 210mm build on the printables link - I think you'll like it.

Thanks for doing this and posting this. Just wondering, what color spray paint did you use for the body?

I've been favoring printing them in black filament or putting a base coat of black down and then lightly spraying Krylon Gold Leaf over the black. If you spray the gold across the glyphs instead of directly into it- the black will shadow through and make the glyphs pop more

@@arcadeshenanigans Thanks, I caught the part about the black base, but I don't think you mentioned the Krylon Gold Leaf paint. I'm heading to the store after work and that information will save me a lot of searching. I'm hitting big orange so I might have to use a Rust-Oleum equivilent.

@@MrBblhed Cool - if you can’t find the krylon the Rustoleum metallic gold is pretty close. The Krylon edges it out in my opinion because it can go down a little lighter (letting the black through makes it look more aged and metallic) and the Krylon is a touch warmer in tone. I also tried to coat one in conductive graphite to electroplate it but that process didn’t work well for me.
