I kind of agree with you, but I would rather have the choice to change at any time between both perspectives, to better suit my needs and adapt to whatever challenge I'm facing. For instance, 3rd person almost all the time and 1st person for puzzle solving. Of course, the very best option is to give the players the choice at any time - like TES Oblivion and TES Skyrim, for instance.

I finally understand why third person is better in certain games you play only a male or only female protagonist. Third person allowing male and female players to observed the character. Male players dont feel awkward playing as Lara Croft or Female players dont feel awkward playing as Solid Snake. The only exception for first person games allows you to choose to play as male or female characters.

Indiana Jones is an adventure saga and as such, the game should be in 3rd person not in closeup first person. This is not Call of Duty or Battlefield, this is an adventure game like Uncharted or Tomb Rider. They must let us choose, third person or first person gaming, otherwise is an no no buying.
This style is there specialty. They are experts at making immersive first person games. Playing as riddick made you FEEL like you were riddick in those games, I expect it will be the same experince here but with Indiana Jones.

I think it's funny these games that want to be first person, but then the time comes to do some action, they put it in third person, they don't make a game in third person but at times it's there, if the excuse is to be immersive in first person it has to be all the time, or just put both modes for the player to decide

An extraction game like Chronicles of Riddick where you have to escape a superfortress facility and deal with teams of guards, robots and other convicts would be amazing

Stealth could play a big part with sound and light meters, abilities of different convicts/guards/robots, players can choose to be a team of escapees, guards or robots and maybe throw in some Deus Ex RPG elements into the mix such as hacking the robots, lore in the extraction multiplayer, in-game mini missions, and later on a fourth faction of bounty hunters that get sent in to quell the unrest would make for four way battles.
I don’t mind the first person bit. I don’t mind the fact that I’m assuming that’s not actually Harrison Ford playing the voice. However, I will say that some of the mechanics look kind of silly. Like for instance, using the bull whip to act as a distraction device. Now would Indiana Jones have actually done that? Maybe. But still it seems kind of silly. Overall it definitely looks like it’s an interesting game. Hopefully it succeeds where others have failed. But most of all. Hopefully it doesn’t fall into the traps of using current day, political things when it is clearly meant to be said during the 40s.
