You'll be fine im sure. Keep going and good luck xx

    Are there any good comparison sites for the Republic of Ireland? I feel totally screwed over here 😅. There some nice deals on Leaseloco in the UK, and absolutely nothing on ROI. Unless I don't know where to look 😢..

      @@DefinitelyNotAGuru Thanks anyway.
      Just wondering, is there a video which would compare Leasing Vs buying 2-3 year old car every 4 years? I understand it's difficult to compare, as there is many variables with used car repairs. But at least on a basic level.
      I feel that buying a 3 year old car and selling as 8 year old isn't as cheap as people often think. Unless, you are a mechanic or have someone close, or get very lucky with minimal repairs. Possiblly it can cost even more than driving brand new car on Lease.
      Of course you don't have the car equity, but I find the car equity isn't really a factor until you basically either decide to sell car for good, or keep the car until it's end of life cycle.

    Why do compnaies offer cheaper deals for 2 year lease term, surely a 3 year deal is better for them.
    Thanks

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Various reasons; the sourced finance and or cars have specific terms. Perhaps the financier would rather they get resold at 2 years old rather than 3 etc as feel they’ll get a better return. Of course sometimes if you look at the total cost of the lease and then divide by 24/36 months ,the 24 month deal that has cheaper monthly payments could work out worse value overall (as you have to factor in needing another deposit again more quickly).

    I really don't understand lease deals because some of those price differences mean you will pay thousands out extra for no reason, do you own the car after or do you hand the keys back, I'm lucky I've never done car loan but for 20 years did bangernomics, some times lucky and got a good one. Finally got to the stage to buy a very good motor but I saved and it cost 15k, how on earth can people afford 500 a month and have a mortgage I'm self-employed and think I have a comfortable life with no debts and stay within my and the families needs. I need to change my car and get a euro6 because of this ulez bs and for the first time it's looks like I will need a loan, car prices are just mad now, I would love an ev but 50k + and second hand 30k and then you don't know how the battery has been treated so it might say 300 miles but then 12 months 270 then goes down more.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your last sentence explains exactly why leasing is a good idea with an EV. As for the rest of it, do whatever makes you happy mate. Paying a monthly price for a car and knowing you have full manufacturer warranty so no unexpected repairs, no MOTs, you're not susceptible to depreciation swings makes a lot of people choose to have a brand new car for a reasonable price rather than gambling on used. I've seen a lot of mates spend £25k on 2/3 year old cars, sell them a few years later for £12k when they could have had a better brand new car with no MOTs, tax, or repairs over the same period for £3k less. Leasing is not for everyone but it works very well for many.
