I have had several of these experiences and for the past 50 years, I’ve been trying to find a scientist, a physicist hopefully, that could claim to the same experience and that’s what Dr. Faggan does.

What a profoundly inspired human, this Federico Faggin!! We are blessed to have him. Now let’s give this Theory outlets on which it can get foundational: like proving that Consciousness is not brain emanation (but universal substrate from which life and cosmic creation arise), we also need to prove and show how the brain or cell interface with the consciousness field works? Etc. we need to do that before AI gets monetized on such way as to undermine all human values: freedom, nobility, beauty, creativity, care and love.

If I understood correctly: Consciousness is what allows us to know. Computers 'do' without knowing what they're doing. There is no meaning in 'bits.' The meaning can only be quantum; something that exists in QFs. Qualia (the subjective experience with sensory referrals) can be represented by quantum information (QI), but QI cannot represent the meaning ... QI can only represent qualia. Moreover, qualia is the beginning of the inner journey. Qualia are the 'bringers' of meaning. We look for (crave?) meaning. First comes comprehension, and from that comes meaning. Meaning is the essence of comprehension. Meaning is what you get AFTER YOU GOT IT. ...... Simply profound.
Thank you, Federico, for sharing what your beautiful heart and soul experienced on the shores of Lake Tahoe, and what your brilliant mind has cobbled together. These ontological truths and discoveries are fit for a larger audience. Sounds wonderful but there is no evidence and no way of testing this. You simply have to have faith în this postulat of F. Faggin and for me this sounds like what B. Kastrup says în his podcasts. Therefore, is more like philosophy and not science what F. Faggin propuse.

    • @DrFuzzyFace
      @DrFuzzyFace วันที่ผ่านมา +14

@@EcoTHEgrey As you know, with any theory or proposal, there has to be at least one given. For me (and for Faggin, Kastrup, Hoffman, ...) the ontological primitive is consciousness. In my judgment, it's the most parsimonious proposal. Furthermore, if the time comes that I have my own "Lake Tahoe" experience, it would matter not (to me) how others may respond to what I experienced. What I appreciate about Faggin (and Christof Koch, who had his own mystical experience) is his willingness to share his experience. Please agree, he was not auditioning for either our approval, acceptance, or belief. He is simply sharing what was a very personal and profound experience. Be well, my friend. 💜

@@EcoTHEgreythere was a test with a plant and a light hooked up to a random number generator and over time the plant was able to influence the light to shine more in its direction than any other quadrant.
The evidence we find will most likely discover effects of this almost like a shadow being cast but that can still be enough to create a model that is more useful than what we currently have.

@@DrFuzzyFaceit's so crazy because that need for control can often be traced through primordial fear. I grew up atheist mechanical engineer and have slowly been evolving my own thoughts process into surrender and feeling those fields, often days later I will encounter bits of information that are representative partially of the span of what I was feeling. For example if I was "feeling" Christmas then maybe I'd encounter an ornament or some would would call me about something related to Christmas. Or like if I'm feeling punk rock maybe my old bandmate will call me. That sort of thing.

This is all dead wrong. Just fyi. We are just goop having a fever dream. There is nothing special about it. You can go out and learn quantum mechanics, neurology, chemistry, etc, but that’s hard. It’s much easier to sit and listen to grifters tell you you’re special. Every thought you ever had, every dream, hope, love, and fear can be approximated as a an amoeba following a nutrient gradient. When you die, rides over. Just thought you should know. Have a nice rest of your fever dream.

He describes so well that mathematics is a creation of the human mind, and that mathematical models in classical physics can't model qualia. How can that be overcome - even with a new type of mathematics? Any abstraction will produce an incomplete model of experience - although he will probably come up with a much better model than current materialist ones.

Yes, experience does change us. I was walking with my wife when I began to feel electrical sparks of energy coursing through my body. I kept shaking my arms asking my wife, "What is this electrical energy I'm feeling." Soon I could not walk because the energy was taking over. I fell to the ground and immense energy began pouring into me. I felt as if a giant hose of energy was stuck in my heart and I was expanding like the universe. My wife ran home got the car and took me to the hospital. I was examined by multiple doctors and kept overnight. Tests showed no heart attack. Managing doctor said they had no clue as to what had happened. When I googled my symptoms the one thing that kept popping up was a "heart chakra opening." Not surprising since I had been on a spiritual quest for many years. I previously had experienced ego death and immense love and beauty. Now I say, if you want to have meaning in your life, just love everyone you meet as best you can. That will give you all the meaning you want.

How many people know that this guy is the inventor of the first commercial microprocessor and some of the fundamental technologies which make microprocessors possible? One cannot overestimate how much his achievements completely changed the world and made things like the internet and artificial intelligence and all of the major tech companies in the world today possible. The field he describes as part of his Taho experience is observable as scintillating sparkling dynamical and I may add it looks like a rapidly flowing brownian scintillating energy field - analogous to looking at a tarred road from a distant on a very hot day and seeing the emerges what appears to be a flow of energy, however this “conscious” field is at once all encompassing flowing simultaneously from us and flowing to us in all directions.

I could see in color, I felt lighter, I no longer felt the weight of my body, and I even felt how I separated from it.
When I brought my hands in front of me to see them, they were like a hologram or energy-I could see through them, but I could still see colors. The furniture had its natural color, the bed as well, and I could see my body lying on the bed.

On the second occasion after leaving my body I could see myself laying in bed, the television I could hear everything. A 3rd occasion when I slid out instead I went through the mattress and was under my bed people will read this and not believe it... but it happend...God as my witness

Couldn't have ended his talk better than with a description about an outcome result of communication, being entrainment of self with higher self what rastafarians like to call I&I. You can see it as confirmation of it in human interaction, it's most noticeable in the laughter and mimicry. I've seen it happened between your interaction, so it's a proof that we're connected through the fields/membrains. PS: I just found your channel and want to say thank you for making this type of content, I enjoyed watching and listening to you and will continue to do so. ☺

There's a lot of momentum, power, money behind old structures who want us to stay programmed in certain worldviews, but cracks are too deep and they must fall down.
I think our biggest challenge now is to make that transition as painless as possible, by envisioning different, cooperative future.

❤ love that you bring TMK into context here. Such similarities in exploring the ineffable, whichever means suitable, yet to see and hear Frederico’s portrayal of consciousness totally resonates with TMK’s & Sheldrake’s views. Have you heard that paper about microtubules as potential crystalline quantum-field antennae throughout the body? Reminded me as well of TMK’s notion that the brain is rather a receiver than a seat of consciousness. Heck, the common description of zooming through fractal geometric imagery when tripping could indeed resemble an actual experience related to such crystalline structures. Hoping we hear much, much more from the likes of Mr. Faggin to cease relentless competitiveness and focus on a form collaborative humanity emerging as the challenges we are facing are tremendous.

Consciousness cannot be explained by the math it created, which is also why consciousness can't comprehend god - but we can experience it meaningfully. This is great. I had an out-of-body experience when I was completely sober and perfectly healthy, so not under the influence of anything. Since then, I have known that consciousness is not produced by our brain. Is consciousness fundamental? Could well be. This needs to be investigated scientifically. Mr Faggin is, I firmly believe, on the right track.

49:45 Faggin may want to discuss this with Michael Levin who is showing that intelligence (not necessarily consciousness, but related) is not the bastion of neurons per se but actually operates on principles that are present in all cells all the way back to the simplest archaea and bacteria.

21:07 I just before watching this saw a short about the Matrix where the Oracle offers Neo a candy and he says you already know if I'm going to take it so how can I have free will. She says You aren't here to make a choice, you already made it, you are here to see why you made that choice. I think the "why" means here to see what we chose to happen like reading a story we wrote.
I don't know why I find listening to people talk about, metaphysics or "super" natural things still freaks me out after years of hearing and experiencing knowledge of such.

Great insights. If you look at it this way, thinking is an abstraction process which reduces information in our experience . Whatever model we come up with through abstraction is not going to fully explain the arising of experience. This is fairly obvious with classical physics , but there's no reason to believe a quantum model is really fundamental and complete.
May be the furthest we can go is understand and accept this limitation - all abstractions are done with a lack of intelligence (within the process) that it is coming up with unreliable, uncertain, fleeting results, along with the idea of a self or observer who receives the result. The ultimate fundamental is only that interdependency, not any models the process can come up with. Let go of the desire to find "truth" through abstraction, and one finds true peace and liberation, not a finer level of abstraction to get stuck in and believe it is "Irreducible".

I'm with Faggin most of the way on this. I'm happy to consider nature itself-that is to say, our true identities-as having free will. But the real point in denying free will is to do so for the *little* self. The little self being this *representation* in our heads that we (mistakenly) take ourselves to be. I'm sure people misunderstand and misuse the essence of this denial of free will, however, which I think is what he's really getting at, here.
