    So its basically just castor oil + any pigmented colour (mica powder, eyeshadow?!) mixed?

    • @Taiyeler
      @Taiyeler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      You can choose to use any oil that you want to use however, most liquid pigments are made using castor oil. As far as your powder pigment goes, it's best to use something that is safe for lip cosmetics. Mica powders contain a shimmer where as oxide pigments are flat colors that are more pigmented.

    Hey
    Can you suggest how can i make liquid Pigment by using mica ?
    As mica settle down in lipstick , what should i do ?

    • @Taiyeler
      @Taiyeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mica pigment typically isn't best for making a liquid pigment since it's a lighter powder compared to an oxide and it contains shimmer. Oxide powders are heavier, which is why they disperse better into the oil

    I tried doing however and the colours are separating from the oil, any advise? and also i missed a purple and white oxide and it separated 🤦🏽‍♀️

    • @Taiyeler
      @Taiyeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What type of pigments are you using? Are they soluble in oil? It's normal for liquid pigments to separate when they're sitting and not being used. In that event you just shake it very well and its back to normal.

    I’m sorry I’m still confused..... In the video you mixed oil and titanium dioxide together, but where is the color? If you wanted to make a color lip gloss would you mix a oil+titanium dioxide + mica to get a color lip liquid?

    • @Taiyeler
      @Taiyeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I created a white lip liquid using the titanium dioxide and castor oil. White lip liquids are used in conjunction with a colored lip liquid to lighten/ make shades more opaque. To create lip liquids of different colors you would follow the same formula: Castor oil + oxide of choice, and mix to get your desired colors. Mica pigments contain shimmer, so if you're looking to create a solid color lip gloss then its best to use an actual oxide powder.

  • @KrazyKrazyDaizy

    Do your pigments separate from the oil in your bottles? How do you get the lil specs out of that specific titanium dioxide?

    • @Taiyeler
      @Taiyeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes the pigment will separate a little bit which is completely normal. I use a machine to mix all of my pigments so the titanium dioxide is fully mixed

      coconut oil?

    • @Taiyeler
      @Taiyeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have seen others use coconut oil or other oils besides castor oil. I recommend using castor oil because it is thicker than most oils which allows the pigment to adhere better to the oil and not be as runny.
