    Hello Uncle Doug, Nice new channel, great fix on the Fender, I mean Hot Rod. The first part of August, we had temps from 98 to just over 100 degrees, to hot for a Native Northwesterner, I like clouds and rain. Was getting new ISP, obviously back online. I happen to be sub number 599 when you started channel and could get to it, long days working lately. In a way I will miss the two part amp videos. Glad your doing well. All the best, Cass.

    I thought it was just me. Doesn't matter if there are 2 or 20 the last one will be rusted, rounded, hidden, or possibly all three, just enough to require emptying the tool box.

    How are the fuel lines to the front and rear carbs blocked off? I get the block off plates under the carbs, but how are you keeping the front and rear bowls from filling with gas?

      The input fittings themselves are blocked internally. The fuel can travel within the rubber hose, but cannot enter the outer carbs.

    What might be a good solution if you run a electric pump is when it's hot run your carbs dry before stopping the engine

    Brought back fond memories of my BMW 2002 Tim. It developed vapor locks in the fuel pump. And line. Was an old design mounted to the engine. Installed an electric pump mounted to the frame and ultimately had to use fuel line with braided s shielding to completely rid the problem. That old beeper was designed for cold weather. I loved the drive but never bought another one. Prefer my Ford Truck.... Cheers

    Stromberg 97's like quite low fuel pressure [3 to 5 psi?] otherwise the needle & seat can open just enough to pass some fuel. Not a problem when driving, but when parked, the pressure that you had in your fuel tank may well have been enough for fuel to leak past the needle & seat, overfilling the bowl & dribbling fuel into your engine. This might have been a contributing factor in your problem.
    Install your vented cap & at least that potential is eliminated.

    How much trouble would it be to rotate (like tires) those intake screens so that they all get a similar darkening?

      I solved the problem simply by replacing the carburetors and intake manifold, Steve.

      If you mean the scoops on top of the 97's, they're available on Ebay and from Speedway, Gary.
