Tall, I always thought your bike, as good as it looked, was missing one thing and now I see it was that black front end...it has that clean but mean look...good job on its transition to date.
Weird, I was told by Öhlins Europe that the FKS 228 wasn't compatible with the Road King Special. According to the Öhlins USA site it's compatible with 2017-2020 Road Kings, Street/Road Glides, etc. while the Öhlins Europe site says it's only compatible with the Glides, but including the Specials. At 8:07 they say that the two supplied preload collars make them compatible with all Touring bikes.
This means that the handlebars, and all chrome controls, headlight, blinker housing, push rod tubes, total exhaust system, floor boards, rear passenger pegs, ignition switch plus any chrome items I missed to be changed to complete the black out , and I did forget about the chrome wheels also and the rocker boxes ride safe
Thanks for sharing your experience! There is only one more thing that you have to do to bring the whole package together. You need to install polyethylene bushings from Glide Pro. Doing this will help take flexibility out of the chassis and keep the driveline completely straight.
Your videos are thorough, informative, detailed, nicely edited with the camera well placed and I can clearly hear all conversations even with your masks on. I don't care for any videos with all the over use of guitar work (and I play guitar) or music and background noise in general trying to make the video more interesting. You did have music but it was ever so subtle. Just the right touch. Sweet bike with a nice upgrade! I will attempt this on my Street Glide now. I'm a retired car mechanic living in Md. I did see your engine upgrade video in Md about an hour from where I live. Again, great job!
I have been waiting for the this video. The engine upgrade, and suspension upgrade are what I have been interested in. I'm happy to hear that you are satisfied.
Glad the upgrade is everything it should be. The black and chrome go well together. I went Legends rear on my 2017 RGSpl; made a big difference. Thinking of going with the Legends front this year.
Great video I just changed my front forks yesterday but I went with a complete pre assembled set and I did chrome bells and lowers because I have a black 21 inch on the front figured it would be too much black up front plus my bike is black.
Way to go T2! I went Legend Suspension front and back on my SGS. Huge difference! The front goes down gets the road. Front = performance and rear = comfort. I went with black lowers too, yours looks great!
Nice. I did the Fox rear suspension on my Road King and I love it. I’m getting ready to do the front soon. Can’t wait to ride it when the snow stops falling. Chrome gets my vote. I stopped by Bootleggers the other day on my way through Knoxville. Saw the prettiest Road King I have ever laid eyes on. They said they would deliver it to me near Syracuse NY and take mine in trade. I had to run outta there quick. Lol. Great folks in there.
Just did my rear with the Olin 44 remote res , not sure weather to spend money on a new seat or due the front shocks . Love the new shocks handles great and the ride is also great . I know it it is a crazy question . I should do both but what first .
I’m surprised that this was done after the zippers kit. Front suspension sets the handling for the bike. Rear suspension is 85% for comfort, but was you mentioned address that wobble thur corners. That wobble is serious and it would be wise to take a deep look at that. I’ve always wondered why HD take and trail calculations are so questionable.
I like chrome but the black forks turned out to be much better for your bike. Enjoy that new suspension. Can't wait to have my front switched out to match my rear. Going with Legends.
Good idea. Suspension is more important to me than nine work and where I start. Did you get the feeling like you feel as if your glued to the road? So much better.
I wrestle with the black and chrome balance as it seems you have at times. I am surprised you went with the black fork tubes but I think they look fantastic, great choice Tall!! You are making me want the full Ohlins treatment! Ride safe! Jbird
Wht up Tall how are u my man? Question not related to this vid, but uhh did u decide on ur audio upgrades? I recommended tht u speak with Carlos @ NVS AUDIO ROSELLE NJ.
Really looking forward to your long-term review of these. I am looking to get both back and front done. I had decided on Legends but after watching your video, I am second-guessing.
Love the black forks! Looking at doing this to my RG to fix how bad it dives in the front. My rear shocks seem ok comparatively but having a matched set is definitely the way to go.
I put the HD159's on my bike after I watched your video. I've been wanting to do the front. I guess that's the next plan. I like the chrome forks for your bike a little better
GOOD VIDEO, GOOD INFO !! Thanks for sharing .... I would prefer chrome ... just saying .... chrome (to me) shows less dings and scratches after awhile. But black (when new & shiny) looks good. I appreciate you riding in 36 degrees for us ....
I have so many questions. What is your weight? It comes with two sets of springs. I wish they would talk about the difference, also setting up the preload and reload. How to make adjustments because when they set up mine I feel every bulb it’s terrible.
you have a very nice and functioning bike now getting all the bases covered how's the sag lift when you open her up I have the back end done with Ohlins thinking about legends for the front I have a 21 inch front
I was on Ohlins web site looking at some videos and this one came up. I have a 2015 Street Glide Special with the FKC 102. Do you know what is the difference between this and the FKS? Besides the visual differences. I got mind put on at a bike rally(Panama City) and like the guy says, the front end doesn't drop on heavy braking. It does ride better in the sense of having more control(confidence) but watching you hit though bump and not complaining, I hate mine when riding on a ruff road and hitting big bump. Example, when riding into Panama City hwy 79 the road get Course(Ruff) as you get closer to Back Beach Road I guess is the way to described it(at least 5 miles of this). You can feel ever bit of this through the handles bars and seat, just a really rough ride. Leaving Eufaula Alabama heading toward Dothan there is bridge at the bottom of a hill that when I get to the bridge the front end SLAMS very hard, I guess you would said the suspension is bottoming out. First time I rode it, It about killed my neck and back. But to be honest the stock suspension does it too. My friends rides a Victory Vision and he says he barely feels it. His solution: Get a Victory. LOL I thought the black fork tubes looked really good. Looks like you have a good combination of black and chrome going there.
Did you have to use spacers in your forks to prevent from bottoming out and smashing your fender? Figured I would ask given you are running a 21" wheel on the front.
Your reaction to the rail road crossing and bump has me sold! Thanks for all the great videos pointing me in the right direction.
Rear is for comfort and the front is all for preformance
Tall, I always thought your bike, as good as it looked, was missing one thing and now I see it was that black front end...it has that clean but mean look...good job on its transition to date.

The front will give you most feel because it will fix the hesitation and the feeling in the curves giving you confidence. Definitely changing mine
Glad that this video was here as I used it to guide me when I installed my Ohlins front suspension. Took my time and it wasn't too bad.
Thanks for sharing your experience! There is only one more thing that you have to do to bring the whole package together. You need to install polyethylene bushings from Glide Pro. Doing this will help take flexibility out of the chassis and keep the driveline completely straight.
Street Glide looking awesome with those black forks! I can tell that new suspension is plush by the excitement in your voice! 🏍
Thanks for watching DeMonte

Hey Tall - those black folks do look great man. Sets an already awesome bike off even more. Thanks for sharing the vlog
The black forks look good, getting the right suspension puts the control back in your hands, not the road.
I like it Tall, the black does look cool !!! It looks like you’re getting some use out of the Gerbing heated gear too!!! Congrats Buddy!!!
Hey Tall , that black on the front just set it off !! Man she looks tough !!
When I changed my suspension I felt the same way. A different motorcycle! Just night and day difference. Those black forks look great! Take care👊
Thank you
@@TravelingTall Ohlins sold you the fork tubes as well?
Good move! Black forks look good. Front suspension is more important for handling then rear
Great factory visit. Good tutorial and learning.
just ordered mine for the rear. same set up. thanks brother. i'll do the front a little later.
You give the people what we want. I saw your last video on rear suspension awhile ago, saw this pop up just now.
Thanks for watching
I have been waiting for the this video. The engine upgrade, and suspension upgrade are what I have been interested in. I'm happy to hear that you are satisfied.
Thanks for watching John, it really changed the whole bike.
I love the black forks, chrome is cool but i like a good balance because the black contrast makes the chrome pop
Tall,
Go to cruise armour and get their paint protection for the black legs. It chips very easy. It's super easy to install. Great product
Ok ill check it out. Thanks
I hope you don't mind some of us copying your upgrades Tall. I really like the way they ,and you, explain what is going on.
Let us get some more riding footage and views on the front suspension upgrade.
Again a great video! Always interested in how installations are done. Installation AND drive video in one....keep it up!!!
Hey Joey!!! Great guy. I bought my shocks from him 5yrs ago. I try to visit him every year during Sturgis.
Another great video! It’s awesome that onlins encouraged the video and the depth of education.
Liking that black front end
Thanks Harold
Glad the upgrade is everything it should be. The black and chrome go well together.
I went Legends rear on my 2017 RGSpl; made a big difference. Thinking of going with the Legends front this year.
Have Ohlins on the rear of my 2019 rgs. Looking to put Ohlins on the front.
It's a great upgrade, you won't regret it.
Black fork legs look great. Looking like a Street Glide Special now 😎👍🏿
The black forks look AWESOME
Great video I just changed my front forks yesterday but I went with a complete pre assembled set and I did chrome bells and lowers because I have a black 21 inch on the front figured it would be too much black up front plus my bike is black.
Totally 💯 love the Black suspension forks! That bike has that classic Mean Aggressive look now
Most people say they get the most out the rear is because the rear is all they ever end up doing.
The black forks with the chrome on the motor and exhaust looks great bro
Way to go T2! I went Legend Suspension front and back on my SGS. Huge difference! The front goes down gets the road. Front = performance and rear = comfort. I went with black lowers too, yours looks great!
Did you lose ground clearance with Axeos?
Nice. I did the Fox rear suspension on my Road King and I love it. I’m getting ready to do the front soon. Can’t wait to ride it when the snow stops falling. Chrome gets my vote. I didn’t expect you to go black but I’m glad you did the bike looks amazing tall. Ride safe.
Thanks for watching, i felt like people was expecting me to do chrome.
Congratulations on your new legs and suspension. That really looks good. I see you went with the black ones.👍👍👍💯💣
Just did my rear with the Olin 44 remote res , not sure weather to spend money on a new seat or due the front shocks . Love the new shocks handles great and the ride is also great . I know it it is a crazy question . I should do both but what first .
ORDERED SOME FOR MY 2021 STREET GLIDE SPECIAL.. I DID THE REARS WITH SE OHLINS LOVE THEM
Thanks for the video. I have the Legends in the rear, after seeing this I am going to go ahead and do the front. The black looks great on your bike.
Thanks Keith

Black from looking absolutely fantastic. The whole bike is looking great.👍
I did notice the black forks and I love it! Better for that bike than chrome!
100% Tall. Ohlins Racing suspension products. Not a bad way to go. Congrats. Ride safe and ride often. Peace.
The black forks look really nice.
Black front end looks great!
Those black forks look really nice.
For towing a rollahone 2020 ultra, for touring and 2x on trips!??? What works best!
Like the black forks. I am a chrome person but that black does look good.
Thank you
I think it looks great thinking of doing Suspension my self if you would keep me posted on what you think after about 500 miles if you would please.
Black always looks good! You’re definitely swaggering now!💪🏽💪🏽
Good idea. Suspension is more important to me than nine work and where I start. Did you get the feeling like you feel as if your glued to the road? So much better.
Yes, it feels planted. I cant wait to get on the Foothills Parkway with it.
Are you in the knoxville area. You were talking about the dragon and the foot hills PARKWAY
If you like it, I love it. Thanks for the install and review video. 👍🏾
I wrestle with the black and chrome balance as it seems you have at times. I am surprised you went with the black fork tubes but I think they look fantastic, great choice Tall!!
You are making me want the full Ohlins treatment!
Ride safe!

Noooooo!! The chrome is gone. Hehehe. It looks great Tall.
Thank you NBT

Tall I like the black and the Crome together. Beautiful bike.🙏🏾
Getting ready for a Skunkworks 124 build on my street glide. Wonder if that is who you went with?
Awesome video I'm glad you went with black it looks a lot better on the bike I'm glad you're satisfied with the upgrade keep the videos coming🔥🔥🏍🏍🏍🏍
Thank you, thanks for watching.
You’re going to have to ceramic coat the front forks so the bugs don’t stain the black and you won’t be able to get rid of.
I really thought you were going to upgrade to the flux capacitor
Next week Perry, stay tuned. Thanks for watching, i may be up your way soon.
@@TravelingTall lol hit me up if u got time

Is this Anthony with the CVO Road Glide?
Ya its me
I'm seriously considering upgrading my Low Rider S with a full Ohlins.....
I was wondering when you were going to do front suspension specially how highly you speak of the rear suspension!
Very nice video on The front end upgrade. Sounds like you like it! Ride safeTall😎
Love the black front end.
"All the way... thank you Lord!" You're not a tru Tall fan if you don't sing that at the beginning.
😀👍

Not many upgrades left to do. Amp and speakers. Custom paint?
Luv the black forks Tall. Good choice..👍
Good job Tall! Man oh man that bike sounds GOOOOD ! 👍
With so many dealers sell this or that brand, so much info leading "a or b" brand hard to choose???
I got front and back, but youbdidnt tell us that they don't have certain sizes to adjust to the 23 in rims in front. I have the 226fks
Can you please share with us where you have them installed ?
Did you look at suspensions by other manufacturers ie legends before choosing Ohlines
Probably the first thing I will do on my next bike. Thanks for the video!!!!
The black lowers look good, Ijust ordered ohlins for my rear shocks, and am interested in the front also for my RKS, thanks for the video.
Great tall , I just put legends on rear
wait until you put Legend on the front, you're really going to be in love.
How come they did not replace the fork seals? Very strange!
The black looks great brother 👍
The black fork looks great. What are your settings of the front suspension (compression, rebound en preload)?
I think he told me 18 on the rear. To be honest I don't remember the settings on the front.
Thanks, Our HD dealer will install the front suspension FKS 228 soon. But they have no experience with ohlins. I'll figure it out ...
Hey T.T.
... curious why you haven’t done EBS kit yet?
you have a very nice and functioning bike now getting all the bases covered how's the sag lift when you open her up I have the back end done with Ohlins thinking about legends for the front I have a 21 inch front
It handles so much better, no more front end deep or rear bottoming out. The bike handles great.
Black is some much better looking my bike is 14 street glide special rusty orange and black love your videos keep them coming
Thanks for watching. I like black and orange.
Tall, your motorcycle is 🔥.
Like the black forks, looks good!👍🏾
Tall, did they have black forks there to sell you as an option or did you bring those black forks with you?
I brought them with me. Thanks for watching and commenting
