Man thank you for explaining that it was Hitchhikers body. I love that. Killed me when Leatherface was doing thrusts with his chainsaw at Stretch. My favorite character in this was LG. He gets it the worst and still finds the strength to cut Stretch free. I actually teared up when he said “I guess I’m falling apart on you, honey.” Maybe he was Stretch’s ex bf. What a glorious chainsaw battle. I love how Lefty dies in a blaze of glory.
"Strange things happen to a man on the road.... 🎵 🎶 back home you've got a loving wife... she can't hear you calling out here..." love the song, it says you are screwed in a laid back happy melody tone.
Yep, I was one of those that "saw" it in theaters and had FUN with it.The first act sets an ominous tone from its premise of hearing a murder live on the radio and the radio host being terrorized by the same murderers. Then the second act is silly, borderline cartoonish with Leatherface acting like a hormonal teenager; and the third act tries to pay homage to the original by recreating the dinner scene almost exactly as it was in the first (but not nearly as effective) combined with an admittedly cool chainsaw duel between Lefty (Dennis Hopper) and Leatherface. The theme park set that contains the third act, creates a sense of carnival thrills and spills, rather making up for everything that 1981's The Funhouse wasn't in my opinion.I totally agree with your statement about Sally.Have you noticed that the poster for this is a spoof of "The Breakfast Club" poster...lol no one ever talks about that. Great Review....Thumbs Up Jason😎👍
The Chainsaw store is now a Stubbs BBQ spot in Austin they have some of the original wood and signs still up. I don't think most people that go there know that..lol
I loved this movie when I saw it a few weeks ago. I think I gave it a shot because Tobe Hooper was back in the directing chair. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I liked it better then the first one. It has more rewatchablity for me. I couldn't name another horror movie when a new character outshines and is more memorable than the main marketing antagonist, which is Leatherface. Chop Top just killed it for me. I loved that character, and ironically he is the one who has the final showdown with Stretch, not Leatherface. That jump scare when Leatherface jumps out of the archive room of the radio station also scared the shit out of me. O, was the Tom Savini make up you were thinking from The Prowler or Maniac? I heard that quote too from him. Can't remember either.
The movie makeup he was comparing the grandpa makeup to was an early 70's Dustin Hoffman film Little Big Man...Tom Savini had nothing to do with it...but was inspired by it apparently
Dennis Hopper is so sunken-eyed psycho in this picture, I wonder if he's reprising his role in "River's Edge" - Both came out in '86 - Which came first? Feels like the same character (although one's a burnt-out biker and one's a... Texas Ranger? IDK).
When i 1st saw this one i was surprised at how silly it was in comparison to the 1st, i didn't hate it but i wasn't in love with it, i was just confused, these days though i LOVE! this film, almost as much as the 1st but for different reasons.
I just received mine in the mail last week. Showed it to my brother who has only seen the first one, come to find out that he hated it, given that it wasn't what he had expected.
Very good review...... I don't understand out of the blue this film is hated! I don't buy it at all (I think the internet effects people's way of thinking) Around 1994 or so never heard anyone trash Chainsaw 2 then when Social media, TH-cam, etc. is a thing One or two people say something outrageous to get a little buzz then people follow suit The Internet truly ruins a lot of tv and movies with fake opinions cause they want to be cool/ or different! I don't know how anyone couldn't like this film is so different and unique The spin-off from this entry (All American Massacre) should have gotten made Good lord The Human centipede was financed 3x but, nobody could get behind a Texas Chainsaw Massacre spin off with Chop-Top Keep up the great work
I love this movie. Except the original this is my favourite. Completely different kinda movies & all the better for it. I watch this more than the original to be honest. Great mad as a hatter movie. Great review also.
To me from the original run this was my absolute favorite definatly better then 3 ne generation but hold the linch mob the original remake is everything to me. I emjoy these by watching disconnected to the original
@@mabusestestament see to me you can put them side by side and the remake still takes it. Its a better film im definitely not the poular opinion and thats something ive accepted. Like the remake of friday the 13th was solid. It brought new life into a dead character yet everyone just hated on it like crazy
Lefty: "I'm the Lord of the Harvest!"
Drayton: "Who's that? Some new health food bunch??"

I say "Dog Will Hunt" a bunch too, but I picked it up from Primus' Jerry was a Race Car Driver. There's a sample from Mosely saying it in this film.
One of the most fun horror movies I have ever seen, it’s off the wall crazy but has so much fun with itself
It’s so zany
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 you can say that for sure

Armando De La Cruz I’m guessing very few do haha
Love your reviews...great movie ! It’s a crazy cartoon nightmare ...and so quotable

Chainsaw 2 is a bat shit crazy movie. But its a cult classic. Great movie.
The "frat boy head chop" in the opening scene engenders massive love from the get-go.
Cellar Dweller That is why it is in my Slasher Sunday compilation intro

This crazy shit is my favorite! I'm glad it grew on you!
Brad Thornton like a fungus

Brian Skeggs yes. Both. I will before dr sleep
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 have you ever seen Alone in the dark(1982),dark night of the scarecrow or just before dawn??
Brian Skeggs yup. All 3
LOVE this movie. Your review was great 😀
Honestly I have always hated this movie lol. I wanted a true legit sequel to the first one but I get why Tobe didn’t try to match it

Love this movie because it is so different than the original. It makes sense. Life in 1986 America was vastly different than life in 1974 America.

To say the least haha
I love this movie Tobe Hooper did a wonderful job directing this batshit insane film
But why did he go do over the top with it? Very disappointing to me

Texas chainsaw massacre 2 is my favorite. I be truthful I dont like part 1 .
I thought exactly the same when I watched it as a kid, same with Evil Dead 2. I just didn't get it but now I love it.

Def a fun watch, total 180 from first, very fun sequel
Dog will hunt ! Dog will hunt ! Music is my life ✌️
Is being a cannibal good for your longevity? If so I better get on that..... right???? lol
I was like you. Saw it as a kid and hated it. Watched it years later and really enjoyed it.
this is one my fav movies of all time
Lefty Enright and John Quincy Wydell need to have a prequel film where they go on the road and kick ass all over Texas.
I’m down
i remember this was banned in Australia back in the 80's first time i watched it was on a bootleg ntsc vhs.
great film nuts as fuck but great!
"Like Death eating a cracker.'
My grandfather from south this real saying in south.I ask what it means .he has no idea haha
Classic. The movie Rob Zombie made a movie career off of.
Awful but funny but hard to watch but eager to see it again

The remake isn't bad on its own. If you stumbled upon it not knowing the originals it's a solid horror movie.
