There is a tool you need for using your jewelers saw. Its piece of hardwood about a foot long, 1/2" to 3/4" thick about 3"to 4" wide with a v cut in the one end like a fork.
The width of the v is dependent on the size of what you commonly work on. The length should be about 3 inches. You clamp this to your table and it supports your work and gets the saw away from the edge of the table giving you greater freedom of movement
