@@JulieAnn02261990 I'm in Knoxville, TN. They did back to back shows here at the end of March, and they were fantastic. I took my mom, because after I introduced her to them last year, she can't get enough lol. They stuck around after the show and we got to meet them as well. Really cool.
Btw, Adam completely stole the show. He did like a 10 minute beat boxing intermission where he was doing Michael Jackson songs and dancing, it was hilarious 😂
I saw them in March too. I took my 81 year old step-Dad. I purchased the tickets for his Christmas present because he loves them. I wanted a special memory because his health is getting worse, and it was incredible. I have him over for dinner and we watch Home Free a lot. I have anxieties and for years I didn't leave my house. This is the first major event I've attended in public in a decade. I had to step out a few times, but I loved it. I can't wait to see them again. I'm going to wait until I can get VIP tickets and take my daughter.
My favorite moment is overlooked by everybody. When Tim hits that really note at the end, Avi just smiles and takes his hat off to him. Beautiful.
When Home Free did this on the Sing Off, they did it in a lower key. No need to react, but I'm sure you'd love seeing their live version, no doubt it's one of the reasons they won. I hope to see you do more Home Free. Thanks for the reaction!

The Sing Off versión is the BEST! Tim Foust is a BEAST. You should listen to his collab with Peter Hollens for Misty Mountain from The Lord of the Rings-it’s amazing! I’m not a huge Peter Hollens fan (he’s okay), but Tim killed it.
It was one semitone lower, which doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s incredible if you’re singing like they are. The range on that performance was F#1-Eb5, which just shows how incredible they are and how dynamic this group
it was really only a 1/2 step lower (F# instead of G), but still quite impressive. And ya, Tim is fricking incredible. The whole group is SO amazing, and I am a total fan.

Home Free's bass Tim Foust is incredible. He has a 5-octave range, and is not only a bass but is a singer. Their beatboxer Adam Rupp is crazy good too, they call him a "freak of nature" The group's harmonies are incredible too. You need to check out more of them. Please do.
Yeah I was going to mention that, he seemed to not grasp that Tim's vocal range is ungodly and he should have caught that being a vocal coach but yeah. He missed that fact
@Loragan Moore: If you don't hear a singer hit certain notes, there's no way for you to know the singer can actually hit those notes. Tim doesn't use his whole range in this video, so how was he supposed to 'catch' what Tim's whole vocal range is???
@Strawberry flavored Clorox bleach: Tim's lowest note here was a G1. The highest note I could hear from him here (not sung in the background) was an E4. Also, it was sung in a head voice, not a chest voice. A singer usually switches to their head voice when they're reaching the top of their vocal range (although there might be other reasons for a singer switching to their head voice)... The point being: if someone doesn't know Tim, they can't know this high note here is not his 'top' as a singer and that he's actually able to hit up to a B4 or B#4 *in chest* . G1 to E4 (the vocal range Tim uses here) is 2 octaves, 5 notes, and that's a completely standard vocal range for a trained singer.

@Strawberry flavored Clorox bleach: I'm sorry that you felt like you needed to do that. I didn't mean to make you, or anyone else for that matter, feel bad about their comment. I just tried to explain that it's not that easy to figure out a singer's vocal range from just one song.
Tim's vocal range is definitely phenomenal, but I think it's the balance of his tone throughout his whole range that makes his vocal range so impressive. There are other singers who have very impressive vocal ranges, but Tim has the most balanced tone throughout his whole vocal range that I've heard so far.

Tim Foust, Home Free's bass guy can go even lower than that. He has a 5+ octave range, and believe me...He's not afraid to use every one of them. Did you happen to hear him sing that high tenor note a few bars prior to hitting that low note? And their beatboxer, Adam Rupp is one of the best there is. He's the one that came up with that A Capella Country Raggae beat. He's a beast, for sure. And more than once they've been critized for using instuments, or so people thought, but it's all them and their human vocal sounds and nothing more. All of these guys have amazing voices. You need to check more of their songs out in the future. Thanks!

Tim Foust can sing literally anything. And yes, a fantastic bass. If you want another good example you need to watch Time with Peter Hollens doing "Misty Mountains". It would also be interesting to see your reaction to Peter because he is an absolute master of layering tracks making his solo a capella sound like a choir.

Home Free takes every song they do and wrings the strongest, clearest, and best from it. If you want a purity of sound in harmony you should react to their version of How Great Thou Art. If you want to hear Tim Foust drop the bass and have some fun check out Honey, I'm Good. They won The Sing Off program in season 3, and there is a video of all their performances, so if you want a long listen at what they can do to a variety of songs pull that one up! Hello. ;-) I just caught this reaction, then subscribed and hit the bell. I'm definitely interested in seeing other reactions you do, especially for Home Free. I thought you did a great job with this one.
I have a couple more suggestions for you. Before you go look at others, though, I want to say one thing: these guys do NOT need or use "autotune." Every once in a while you'll see a comment on one of the videos, where someone doesn't believe that. Then all of the Home Fries (we Home Free fans) chime in, telling them, "Uh uh...if you hear them live, you'll hear just what you hear in the video, and sometimes it sounds even BETTER!" They are AWESOME in concert, and totally personable. They not only sing well, but they absolutely know how to draw in a crowd and then keep everyone participating, yet once they begin singing, the crowd is really LISTENING. It's honestly utterly amazing, and I hope some day you can get the chance to go to a concert. You will REALLY be blown away, then. :-)
So...having said all of that, first of all, since you were really impressed by Tim's low note (and, boy, you DO need to hear it live...WOW!!!), I think you are going to be doubly impressed by the very beginning of this next song. Tim opens the song (just wait), and then he also joins in with the low harmonies, which he switches out with [Adam] Chance (they just call him Chance, because Adam Rupp is the beatboxer). Chance (who replaced Chris Rupp, who sang in "Ring of Fire") gets the LOW note in this one, and you'll enjoy that one, too, I think.

home free is an amazing acapella group I would recommend any of the work they do they have all kinds , styles not just country check them out.

Hey Coach, i've enjoyed a lot of your videos including you Pentatonix videos. I've been waiting for a reaction to Home Free for a while. So glad you appreciate it as much as i did. I would suggest Mayday (CAM) covered by home free. However their entire list of songs are great. Some of their pop covers or mashups are great. They seemed to me like one of the most polished groups to come off of The Sing Off. Pentatonix you can watch grow on that show, in my opinion Home Free got on the show and just seemed a level or two above the competition the entire time.

I love the concept of the two basses. It allows one to take the vocal lead lead without taking the bass out of the rhythm or background vocals. Kind of like with PTX when Scott takes the bass line in Sounds of Silence or Hallelujah while Matt and Avi, respectively take the lead. I love the richness that comes with a bass when they move up in range while taking the lead.

Check out Wes McKinzie, Rodney Britt, Tim Storms, Gary Evans, and Todd Dunaway. All basses that can go much lower than Tim Foust. It happens they are all good friends. Foust grew up admiring these guys' voices.
