    I'm so sorry about your loss. I was just thinking how blessed you three were to be together for this hunt and harvest when your notice of your father's passing came up. Gods grace be with you.

    Lost my dad Sept 11 2020. We hunted, worked and partied togather. He was my best friend. I tagged my best buck a couple weeks before he passed. I was able to back my truck up to his window so he could see the 6x3 archery mule deer. It was a magic moment. I know your pain. God bless.

    I was not expecting that ending. My sincere condolences to you all. That’s a great buck. Please don’t apologize for a kill. A legal kill is a trophy kill in my eyes and in the eyes of many others. Again, my condolences to all.

    Awesome hunt guys. My dad said this will be our last year hunting together and it really hits hard with him knowing he wont be able to do it anymore if he is still around. He pulled a premium tag this year and we are watching the whole zone burn up right now with a October hunt opening. Hopefully it works out. Good luck in your future hunts and stay safe.

      Thanks. Either way it's tough, in fact, I would think knowing its the last time would be much tougher than not knowing. Whatever the outcome with the fires, I wish you all the best on your hunt!!

    Congratulations on the nice high country bucks 🦌 I was trying to figure out the hunt dates since most rifle hunts are on the transition lines and not the high country. Usually that’s archery 🏹 season territory.
    My condolences on your Dad passing two years ago. One month after my beloved Mom did from the Vid. She was two years younger than your Dad. I am glad you have some great memories outdoors with him. I want to get my 65 year old Dad back out west even if it’s just for a pronghorn hunt.

    • @chasethehunt2187
      @chasethehunt2187  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, the rifle hunt opens right after archery so it’s pretty cool getting to hunt high country rifle!
      Sorry to hear about your Mom, way to young! We are so happy to have the memories and to have some captured we can go back and watch or our kids can’t watch their papa!
      I would say do absolutely anything you can to get him out there and make those memories while you can!

      @@chasethehunt2187 You are welcome 🙏 and that is pretty cool 😎. I will have to look more into that. I thought that there was a week break inbetween.
      You are welcome 🙏 and thank you as well. I appreciate the thankful 🥹 prayer 🙏 over the deer 🦌. Yes both our parents went way too young. I definitely need to work on getting him out there again. God Bless.

    Thanks for sharing guys, what a great memory, Jim looked good in that beard, I met him a few times over the years and talked a few times on radio, we shared hunting stories while at Missions fest, I was pleasantly surprised to come across this video. Great hunt👍🏻😎🙏🏼 very sorry for your loss.

    Nice quality hunt, and a pretty buck...Just my thoughts, but I would never apologize for or minimize the size of that deer. You mentioned several times about how he was not a monster. Still a beauty. So sorry it was your last hunt with Dad...that makes the buck all the more special.

    That's a great area you were in. I know because I've hunted the same drainage for a few years. If you were up there opening day, you may have seen us going to retrieve my buck.
    Sorry for your loss but I don't know of a more incredible area to have a final hunt!

      It is gorgeous country. We were there around the beginning of October and only saw a couple other guys. This wasn't actually our last hunt together, it was his last deer hunt though. Our dad drew a bighorn sheep tag in Montana and that was his last hunt. We were all able to be there for that too.

    On the other hand...BOILING tenderloin???? Man, I just roast some with a pinch of salt over a sage fire! Boiling?!?!? Ok, I'm over it.

    • @chasethehunt2187
      @chasethehunt2187  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks scbane, we sure miss him. Im not sure i could eat straight boiled meat 😂. That tenderloin was being cooked in oil, u could call it deep fried i guess. I suppose we could have put it on a stick and cooked it over the fire. Being brought in on horses we opted to not bring a frying pan.

    Great video! Do you mind telling me what kind of tripod you are using?

    • @chasethehunt2187
      @chasethehunt2187  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a no name one that actually broke on that hunt. I liked it because it was small but i threw it away after that hunt. I dont know what the actual brand was. I just got a geekoto, its a bit bigger bit seems very sturdy and quite lite. The best part is it was only about $80 if i remember right

    • @chasethehunt2187
      @chasethehunt2187  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure who’s tripod you are referring to with this question. Hunter answered already, I use the manfrotto 290 xtra. It’s a little heavy but it’s incredibly sturdy and keeps things steadier in the wind and is tall enough that I don’t have to bend over to look into it.
