Your video was SO helpful. Thank you! Definitely going to try it! I am a brand new self-taught sewer using my grandma's old Singer Model# 347. Beginner projects like this are so fun!
Love this bag . Really good tutorial. What machine hdo you use? I'd like to invest in a good machine that would go over straps. Could you suggest one. Thank you again Liz, I love yo me channel ❤
Oh bummer! If you search "LuseyGooseyFabrics" on Etsy they have loads of organic options including Birch, Cloud9 and Mona Luna brands which I use :). I'll try to update my links!
@@NoTraceShop You could do this with almost any size panels - it's really a technique video, right? (Except don't go too small because of seam allowances)
I think so! I don't work with leather so I can't give good advice - you might want to see how other people have added leather straps to a bag. Good luck!
Im already confused. Im an absolute beginner and even this is too fast. What is interfacing. Its 18 inch long but how wide? Ive literally just bought a sewing machine and intimidated xx
You can do it :) ! Interfacing isn't in this project - sorry to confuse you - it's a material that is ironed on to other fabrics to make them stiffer. But you don't need it. These are 18" x18" panels of fabric.
@@NoTraceShop Hi you haven't confused me, I've just never sewn before so everything is new and scary. I've subscribed to your channel and I'll be binge watching to learn so I can make thinks fir myself and my kids! Do you know how to make flat zipper pouches? No one is making flat ones they're all boxed or flat bottom. I'd love a tutorial of flat zipper coin pouch in different sizes! I'm sure u would get lots views x
Yes I like to backstitch at the start and stop of my seams, in general, unless I know I'm going to sew over the start or stop with another seam! :) Hope that helps.

How to sew dog sock from recycle sock
I am not understanding the size of the 2 pieces of fabric. Are they 18" x 18" ?? Thank you in advance
Same
Yes - 18" x 18" for each panel :)

Love it .can I use a bit a leather ?

Hi what fabric is it? Is it just cotton or cotton canvas?
Im a newbie
I just used regular quilting cotton but you could absolutely use canvas instead!
Seems flimsy could there be any fabric added inside to make it more sturdy?
Hi! Yes, I have a lined tote tutorial as well: th-cam.com/video/uSaAtnRrOGc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7pC02G8fnaAK2CE8
Use a thicker fabric.
2:24 Do we need to back stitch anything?
Yes I like to backstitch at the start and stop of my seams, in general, unless I know I'm going to sew over the start or stop with another seam! :) Hope that helps.
What is the size of the bag?
I think it's about 16" tall and about 17" wide :)
Where did you purchase your webbing please?
I believe I've ordered from Seattle Fabrics in the past, and I've also found it at our local fabric collective in Santa Cruz - Fabrica :)
@@NoTraceShop Thanks
0:38 18" wide, how long?
These are 18" x 18" panels of fabric, so you only need a half yard of fabric (18" :))
