    Rather than blowing with the hair dryer, I carefully placed parchment paper on top of the vinyl, heated my iron to med high heat and ironed the parchment. It adhered the vinyl perfectly and I didn't have to worry about blowing the vinyl up and out of place. It worked great!

    You could add a shape of some sort over the "mistake" (like a heart or something) and it would hide it completely!

    So since this seems to just be paint to top layer, I did not see back side, it does not show through apparently, so I would like to paint one side for Halloween, add a pumpkin etc., then other for Christmas put snowman or such. This would work>

    • @nonnamomma8673
      @nonnamomma8673 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christo S I used my cricut machine, I’m thinking she did the same it cuts the words for you, you just have to buy the Oracle paper 651

  • @lindaf516
    @lindaf516 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can this also be done by cutting cardstock paper on the cricut and taping it? I would think it wouldn't move around so much?

    • @amileesorhbmama5655

    May I ask why the doormats require permanent vinyl versus some other material, considering it is basically being used as a stencil? :)

    • @mbrewster19
      @mbrewster19 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vanessa Marie You can use any material you’d like! There’s a ton of different ways people do them... it’s all about finding what works best for you. I personally use card stock and cheap straight pins 😊 Try a couple different materials, and have fun creating!!

    • @monkiram
      @monkiram 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mbrewster19 Can you reuse it or is that a one time use? And do you find that it causes a lot of mishaps?

    • @mbrewster19
      @mbrewster19 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Momera It all depends on the design I’m doing. If it’s a generic design that I’ll use over and over, I make it a reusable stencil (Cardstock with transfer tape on top, or even Mylar stencil material). If it’s a personalized or one off design, I’ll use just straight Cardstock.
      In the 3 years I’ve been making them, I’ve had no mishaps!
      I hope this helps!

      I think she mentioned she utilized her entire 12 in by 24 in cutting mat so it has to be that, or near that size. I would assume bigger is better on something like this.

      I would not, you run a risk of the spray paint getting under the letters. When adding paint from a brush directly on top and not making strokes, just dab, you have better control where the paint is going
