Lovely looking dog, and good job with the place mats. I would have him sit until he was asked to move, more difficult to do but more treats for the dog if he manages it, that said you know your dog and have done a great job so far.
Drahthaars are very easily distracted simply due to their high energy and ultra keen senses. I know you're aware of this but it's one thing about the breed that can be frustrating
Once you get that dog taking casts, and hunting it, you will never own another breed.......... as you progress try the baseball drill with the dog at pitchers mound, you at home plate.....bumper piles on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd......but be careful that you don't make her too dependent on you giving her direction. The dog needs to hunt independently and search. It's a versatile. You only want to cast and control it to area. Otherwise they can get too dependent on handler. Just an FYI.

100%! Sometimes he just gets bored and goes exploring
