    can't find a way to thank you for these classes, i just beg you to keep doing a great work, i dunno if you know how much you're helping me, but, i'm brazilian and we don't have ANY producer teaching how to use Harmor, so thank you for your hard work

      Thank you for such kind words! It's great to hear the videos are helping you out. I'll get back to making more videos very soon. Glad to have you aboard!

      Congrats on getting all plugins edition!! You're very welcome my man!! Hope the series gets you up to speed with harmor, its a very cool synth!!

    With Auto Gain, the best situation I've found myself using it on is when using the Noise resonance type in combination with the Blur envelopes. Because the amplitude of the partials are different making up the saw wave, some partials when using the Noise type are quiet or loud, and can be inconsistent. Instead of using compression, the Auto Gain was helpful for brining up the partials and down the loud ones.
    Also I believe its prominent when using filters, since the filters in Harmor are part of the additive engine, Auto Gain will auto gain the partials affected by the filters or resonance

      Good looking out! Ill have to try that. Maybe I can incorporate auto gain in future patches of mine, now that you bring up a good use for it. It was one of those knobs for me that I didn't really use too much. Thanks for the tip!

    Jon, you are so cool! Thank you so much for taking the time out to create this tutorial series with all your other series or VSTs. Its such a big help to me. Since ten years ago before I got into a Cult I have wanted to learn but I felt overwhelmed by the FL Studio manual. You explain things very well and I love that you go through and explain every parameter and control.

      Thanks!! And you're very welcome!! If you come across any questions, always feel free to reach out! Harmor is a great synth but it can be a little daunting at times

    A little late.. Still wanted to thank you so much for these tutorials Jon! :)
    You’re calm, precise and very informative. Love it!
    Off-topic;
    Had a little laugh at “I’d be glad to answer for it”.
    Time to play with Harmor and continue your playlist ^^

      You're very welcome my man! It's a long course but if you can power through it, harmor will be super fun and much easier to use.
      Let me know if you got any questions, I'm always around.

    Jon! Thank you so much for your great work! There are not many people to teach such the great synths like Harmor
    We are so happy to have you!
    Ok I will try to speak with image line and say to remove that knob (auto)😅
    Thanks Jon!🙏👍👍

    2:15 This and the prism can make some really amazing things out of soft-saw ish things, which Hamor makes easily by just selecting wave as the line to draw, square wave starts off like that so just drag the point in the middle up and down, maybe offset it a bit etc. The high mids-highs can sound so great when either detuned extra or hardly at all, in the former they'll usually be squelchy or hyper-sawish or the like, and in the latter you'll have these sharp freqs cutting through on top of a nice detuned body, and that's just with clean, singular curved lines.
    Of course, same goes for using the resynthesis as a wavetable, hell, the oscilators seem to act as a sort of harmonic filter for these too, saw being unfiltered.
    Btw. could you just imagine Harmor 2? Being able to effectively automate the drawings (We already can to an extent, if they're assigned with ADSR roles, there's also envelope amount etc.), they could add features from Phaseplant and the like, it'd be insane.

      I think if harmor 2 came out I wouldnt sleep for a week!! Image line would probably make a lot of money if they did that. I'd buy it in a heartbeat

    Now I am finding some.

      The next video will be up on Monday, we're gonna be diving into the filter section where a lot of cool possibilities are. FL and Ableton are both great DAWs. You probably already know but you can download the trial version of FL that has all the features to see if you like it.

    Great videos and content Jon! I have a question I can't find anybody addressing. Do you how I can loop a part of the region of the (image) sample after it has fully played and then slow the specific loop region via an automation?

    Isn't the sawtooth wave a sum of the fundamental frequency (1f), and all of its overtones (2f, 3f, 4f, etc.) at (1/2), (1/3), (1/4), etc. the amplitude of the fundamental frequency?
    In Harmor, in the "Timbre 1 harmonic level", why are all harmonics at the same level? 🤔🤔

    • @jonaudio
      @jonaudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a very good point because a mathematically correct saw wave doesn't have all harmonics at the same amplitude in the traditional sense. I've also wondered why Harmor has them like that. Perhaps is just how Harmor wanted to have their default saw wave? What is also interesting to note, is that saw waves are slightly different based on what synth is generating them, for example the saw in GMS is quite different sounding than what you'd expect a traditional saw wave to sound like. Even back to old analog synths, if you looked closely on a spectrum view of those saw waves, they are very very imperfect, but that did contribute to how they sounded.
