The reality is though, is that the general level of food quality in Japan is off the charts compared to other countries, throughout all varieties, which they have many, many of, including almost all the sorts of American(?) food you get there. I can no longer fathom living back in my home country on just the food aspect alone. Sure it took a month or so to get used to differences and a magnitude of different varieties compared to what I'd been used to my whole life, but you don't have to take my word for it. The number of Michelin stars per country is not just a coincidence, for starters. The Japanese know food, extremely well. It is very strange how the rest of the world tends to prefer ignorance and playing along to stereotypes rather than just indulging on all this greatness. Japanese restaurants are slowly getting more popular though, as well as things like instant ramen - which is still a joke though, with extremely bland flavours like "beef" and "chicken" - but like I said, it takes time to get used to such differences after being used to other things your entire life. If I'd not spent more than a month in Japan, I'd probably be back in my home country thinking similar things to you. This video is just them imagining everything to be horrible for some reason and playing to that stereotype for youtube. Not that these sort of snacks are all that different or special anyway.

Japanese cuisine is considered to be one of the finest in the world... we don't have the greatest number of Michelin stars for nothing.
