Thanks for the very kind words! FYI I just found out about the current kickstarter that is to get a destiny quest world compendium/atlas. www.kickstarter.com/projects/1122204373/destinyquest-the-world-companion
I like the idea of plying through a gamebook with a significant other! I recommend the gamebook "Heart of Ice" by Dave Morris! I've been on a Gamebook binge lately and "Heart of Ice" has been my favorite! The prose is great, the story captivating and unique, the mechanics simple but rewarding. I haven't played through Destiny Quest, though! I'm curious as to how it compares :)
Glad this helped you find it! Like I said, I had it for a couple years and then kicked myself because I have no idea why we overlooked something so awesome once we started. Especially since the book was only $20. I saw on Facebook yesterday that Michael just finished writing the 5th book, which is coming to Kickstarter in spring.
Wow! I've just watched another video for one of the latest books in the DQ series and the books in the background have changed to board games! (Which I was pleased to see.)
I noticed you have the same edition of the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy as we have in our cupboard. In travel, you do need to roll dice, but you can usually download an app in advance on your (silent mode) iphone. Also you need a pen and paper.
Probably yes, I did an unboxing of it impromptu on Facebook that I’m going to post here too. That said, a full review of it will take a little bit because I’m also wanting to avoid spoilers ahead of trying the other books with my wife.
Great question! The first book is singular adventurer but the later books (stand-alone but same world) have elements for having team battles from what I’ve seen. We have not done that so I cannot speak to it, but for what it’s worth I will say that this is a lot of fun for my wife and I at 2 players as I narrate like a DM and she makes choices for the character. Have fun!
Excellent video. Well done. I'm a huge DestinyQuest fan, so you're preaching to the choir with me, but you've done a great job with this one.
Thanks for the very kind words!

How have I not heard of this series!!

Glad you liked the change. I tend to go back and forth between the game room and the home office :)

That’s cool we have the same copy. I have had it for 10+ years. That’s a great idea for traveling, I believe my buddy did that when flying.
@@boardgameimpact I just late pledged for his latest. Author deserves world fame.
Nice! I just got my copy of the world companion in this week.
@@boardgameimpact are you planning on making a video on it? when?

I just think it's a serious mistake that there's no illustration in any book in this series.
The only drawings are maps.
Is this a solo only game? Would it be possible to play as 2 player characters or is the game only built for a single solo adventurer?
