I think it’s so easy to overthink things and talk ourselves out of doing things, so well done for saying it doesn’t come easy, I’m with you there. It does make it harder as well when you’re enjoying your crochet or knitting but it can be used as a reward to go back to it when you’ve done your walk. 😊
Hey Sarah, Thanks so much for the encouragement to walk... and thus, I just came home from a 25 minute walk, my first of 2025! I'm a former runner, when I was in my late 20's through my mid 40's. Now I'm 76, with two hip replacements, so I'll not be running for sure, but the walking still works for me. Your words pushed me out the door today! Feeling great about it!
Hi Andrea. Thanks for watching and sharing your story. Also thank you for the Kofi donation. Walking is definitely the best exercise that we are built to do. 😊
Oh sarah you are so kind and gentle you certainly dont come across as telling us to get up and get out! Just gentle encouragement and small changes thank you for being so inspiring. That dinner looked delicious 😋
The colour palette for your daughters blanket is absolutely gorgeous. I too find it hard to motivate myself to get out and exercise but I love how I feel after doing it. Let’s keep going! 😊🇦🇺
Hi Sarah! You looked cozy in your robe. If it’s the same you treated yourself to after surgery, I remember it. The endearing memory I alluded to this morning is that when you read while blowing your hair. I find it so endearing because it speaks to the reader who mines for every moment with a good book. I remember when I was binge watching from the beginning and I first saw you do that. ❤
Hi Suzanne. Yes it is the dressing gown I bought for my post op recovery. I haven’t dried my hair in months. But would always read and dry my hair at the same time 😊
Kudos to you, Sarah, for four miles, but mostly for getting up and moving and acknowledging that it is hard! You are inspiring many of us. Love love love the progress you are making on the new blanket. Thanks for the January vlogs. ❤❤❤
The colors you chose for thr blanket look so good together, comforting. I think one change at a time really helps things stick. Allie does encourage me too😊. Yummy looking food as always. ❤
Hello Sarah i so agree whole heartily move is important not just dieting etc…we all love our goodies but moving is the kept especially as we get older….I’m proud of you I do the same some day’s have to push myself but I am staying faithful daily to walk the treadmill I hope I hope to be at 2 miles at end of week 😊. Absolutely love the blanket beautiful color choice……good for you for lounging today..thank you for sharing hugs
Hi Sarah. I really understand what you mean when you say it's a struggle to be motivated. I'm like this with so many things! I'm really enjoying your January vlogs, even though I love the cold weather January can be a hard month after all the busyness of December so it's nice to have your vlog to look forward to every day! ❤
❤❤loving ur e your enthusiasm 🎉🎉 Watched ali and gayna yesterday,,too,,,🎉 I got a lovely walk and fresh air in yesterday ,,,,before the snows came,,,, Snowing again this morning,,, Loving the blanket,,,for your daughter,,,nice colors!!! Take care ELAINE 💗🏠⛄
thanks for the vlogs Sarah and for keeping it real and letting us know you also struyggle. You have inspired me to get up and cook. Your meals alway look amazing and make me feel so hungry 😋
@@yarnmugspodcast9123 I made roast chicken, although I bought a cooked chicken and roasted the potatoes in the airfryer. The Australian summers do not go well with having an oven on for hours 😅
The blanket looks amazing already Sarah, the colours are really beautiful & I must look up Sandra’s designs to see if I can find it. You dinner as usual, so delicious! So glad you got out for your walk, well done. Cheers 💕👏🥰😍🤗❤️
Hi Joan. Yes the Spice of Life and this Spicier Life blanket are lovely to work on. The original blanket was a crochet along but they are both available on her website 😊
Thanks Sarah! Yes, it definitely is tough to keep motivated!!! My excuse for much right now is that we are packing to move house in a week, but every time you come on I get excited about being in our new neighbourhood and enjoying the nature that will be around us (and we will have a few months before to explore before the bears wake up 😄). Please keep vloging if it helps keep you stay motivated as it is a two way street even if the interaction isn’t immediate. BTW I am enjoying “Make Change That Lasts “ on Audible. Dr. Chatterjee’s tone of narration is somewhat affected and occasionally comes across as a tad too self-promotional yet he has a lot of interesting food for thought.
Hi Carolyn. Thanks for your lovely comment. Excited for you and your move. Dr C’s voice felt forced at the beginning but it does get more natural nearer the end. I agree with the frequent podcast links and web address. Just not necessary. 😊
Your blanket is looking lovely and the colours are looking beautiful. Glad you got your walk done ok after your slow start ( well deserved I would think!) Take care x
’Just do it’ is a mantra that works for me to, stops me from overthinking :) And it’s always a comforting thought that you could slip back into the dressing gown after task completed! Great work! 🙌
The blanket is gorgeous already, I love your choice of colours. I am very much a "turquoise" person, wear lots of shades of it and decorate the house and furnishings with it too. I have started my blanket for my grandson in similar shades to yours, from my stash, but am making African Flower Hexagons. I think I am going to have lots of ends to weave in and joining to do. With hindsight I think your pattern is a much better option and look forward to seeing your progress. It is growing much faster than mine is, for sure.
Hi Sarah. I'm just catching up on your last few vlogs after my laptop screen died. Replaced now thankfully! The blanket is looking really lovely, beautiful colours. Well done for getting out for a walk in the cold. It's so true what you said about focusing on one habit/goal at a time. It's also to be applauded that you allowed yourself to have a slow day - especially with your busy weeks at work x
Hi Sarah I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves, doing something is better than nothing, some days I only get out & do half a mile but it is still moving & I think doing small amounts everyday helps form the habit in my mind, I am really trying to not put pressure on myself, it’s so easy especially as women to expect too much of ourselves, thanks for another great vlog ❤
I am also trying to change one habit at a time. I used to go whole scale into change in January and have always fizzled out by February. Once I have habit one fully entrenched (approx 3 weeks) I will move on to habit two. The roast dinner looks absolutely yummy.
Your blanket is looking lovely already. Fabulous colour choices. Well done for getting motivated, it's so tough. I also struggle with food as I love to cook and especially bake, plus i hate food waste. We are trying to focus on smaller portions at least as we definitely eat more than we should. I'm needing to watch my cholesterol which is slightly borderline and that is a good motivator for sure.
I so appreciate the message you reiterated referring to just doing our best, doing what feels right on a certain day, and nit trying to overhaul our whole life! Enjoying the daily vlogs, thank you ❤
I haven’t been able to walk for a week until today due to heavy snow. Even today I only did 2 miles as the pavements are so treacherous with ice but it is finally thawing xx
I have a hard time just getting up and doing it. In the fall I did it religiously with no body changes, which super discouraged me. So now battling that bad thought of ‘it does no good so why’. I am doing it but cut back on my step count.
Hi Allison. Yes it’s demoralising when you can’t see any body changes but internally it will be doing you good. I think food changes is what makes the difference, which I need to do 😊
@ Hi Allison. Sorry to hear you are not feeling great. After listening to Dr Chatterjee’s book, he suggests using your body for research on yourself and try and work out what foods help you feel better and what don’t. I would highly recommend listening to his podcast because there may also be other things you can do to help you feel happy and positive. Best wishes 😊

It does make it harder as well when you’re enjoying your crochet or knitting but it can be used as a reward to go back to it when you’ve done your walk. 😊
Hi Penny. Yes it’s all about balance. More so on my days off. A working day makes it harder to squeeze in 😊
Love the colours of your daughter's blanket, good you are taking pleasure in walking, I walk 2 hours every day, so good to get out in the fresh air.
Hi Susan. Wow! Two hours walk a day. What an achievement 😊

You motivate me Sarah. Thank you. Its hard to find the time some days but having a goal that I want to reach really helps.😊
Hi Margaret. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you are feeling motivated. Keep going 😊
Oh sarah you are so kind and gentle you certainly dont come across as telling us to get up and get out! Just gentle encouragement and small changes thank you for being so inspiring. That dinner looked delicious 😋

Hi Heather. Really enjoying making the blanket 😊

Hi Maria. Yes ‘just do it’. Sunday was a pyjama and dressing gown kind of day 😊
