Husband was a "truckie" and albeit showed me how to do it, never felt the use for it because I had him. All of a sudden I need to move a large article and now he has passed away, of course that is when I need the knowledge. Thank you Tim, tried several times around the footstool, ultimately the "ute" and I have mastered it. Great video, easy to understand.

you will always get haters. as a truckie in the ADF for 25 yrs.I hate this one lol. A bee hive is 10 times quicker and more secure. just saying. YES I was taught all these lessor types but you soon learn, a bee hive is the way to go. new to your channel and loving ya content. keep it up

Tricky Truckies knots will get you out of lots of problems . In days past I`ve used them in multiples to winch my 4WD Patrol up a slope enough to give it a rolling clutch start after I killed the battery . Also if you examine your basic sheep shank you`ll see a clove hitch . Turn it on its side and view the double lines as though they are your combing rail , and you`ll see a clove hitch in your hands . Great subject you picked for the video , thanks for sharing it .

To me this is the true trucker's hitch fast and easy to put on and take off without messing with any knots like in other versions. As a kid I remember seeing my dad use this version of the hitch all the time and was always amazed how quick he would set it, it was almost like a slight of hand magic trick. But it stuck with me because years later when I needed it I was able to recall how to make it, thanks dad!

Good demo. My dad taught me this one, and I have used it hundreds of times for loads, creating taut lines during camping trips, etc. It's reliable, easy to tie, with a little practice, easy to tighten and easy to untie. It's a real workhorse knot.

After finally practicing this knot a few time I realized it is really just a plain ol’ sheep shank with a subtle addition. Thanks for clearing this up for me and showing me the best way to tie this in a hurry.

Of all the how to videos on Truckie hitches this has to be the best. Well explained and demonstrated. Most never mention the importance of planing for road side tightening by having the hitch on the side of the vehicle away from passing traffic. Cheers.

Well done my Uncle taught me that knot when I was 10 years old. We were hauling 6 ton loads of strawberry flats to market.
