This interview was 100 times more enjoyable than a Tonight Show, Entertainment Tonight, or E appearance
The short form interview format is a dinosaur. With access to the internet and virtually unlimited storage and bandwidth there is no reason for it.
Yep! Agreed......
Costner who still believes in passionate movies. Movies that are real with lessons to learn. Thanks Kevin Costner.
Compton? He went to La Serna High in Orange County?
💯 % spot on
Giant difference. There are good and bad parts of most communities.
His obsession with Indian Victimhood borders on a pathology...
He said whites should have never been in America
I love that Adam and Kevin are friends
Too bad Adam didn't ask about him endorsing Joe Biden
@@davestuddaman8127 yeah I agree but no need to go there, let him plug the movie he worked a long time on. I suspect Kevin is for the USA but has to keep it under wraps to survive in Hollywood.
Adam, I don’t think you’re a read comments type of guy but In case you see this, your recent appearance with Newsom was brilliant. Thanks for having a spine. 👊🏻
Kevin Costner is a class act. Also, I NEVER go to the movies. I'll be going to watch this, no doubt.
I have been to SO many movies over my 6.3 decades it isn't funny. But I may never go to the theater again with the garbage that is being made today (it's all remakes/sequels/woke). However, I agree with you, I may very well go and see this one.
For sue,Old school!
It was Great! 3 hours. Don’t drink anything or you’ll miss an important piece of the foundation for the next one. :)
I’m 72. Thought films of this quality were gone forever.
Love Mr. Costner's movies. Open Range with him and Robert Duvall on this weekend on Grit. One of my favorite westerns :)
Yes. He and Blue Bonnet were a great team
Damn costner and Duvall were so great. Acting school movie IMO
There was someone on the set of OPEN RANGE that was trying to sabotage the film! Costner didn't put up with that crap! He kicked the guy off the set .
Can't believe Adam Carolla had a free grazer on his podcast.
Loved Open Range too. ❤
"Everybody has to get through their day with their milk money." I love that!!! That made me smile. So true. Really enjoyed this. Two people who are friends and who get real in the conversation. MORE OF THAT!!! Let us go support Kevin's work and watch it in a real Movie Theater!!!!
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the support and love during the trials, your positivity and encouragement really kept me going and i can't thank you enough. Whenever you reach out, please include your name as I don't respond to unsolicited messages. Your friendship means the world to me. Sending lots of love and gratitude to your way.
I laughed at that too. It's amazing how people of a certain age, no matter where in the States where they grew up, instantly knows what is milk money.
Adam is such a great interviewer. His ability to pry open discussions and the be quiet & let his guest speak, UNINTERRUPTED is so refreshing.
I could seriously listen to Kevin Costner stories forever. Cannot wait to experience Horizon in the theater
Nobody cares
@@JJ-ub6mp I care...liar
I wish his role in The Big Chill was bigger
I only watched this interview to see if Costner was still an ass.
I met him years ago - opening night of his restaurant in Old Town Pasadena. He was with the woman he was cheating on his wife with (he eventually married her after divorcing his wife).
He talked to my Uncle for a bit (my Uncle was a well known, celebrated Pasadena Basketball Coach).
During the 10-15 minutes we spent with him, he came across as a conceited arrogant jerk.
We decided not to eat at his new restaurant and went elsewhere.
This was my personal "Costner Encounter" experience.
@@HeartTurnedToStone you mean Kevin Costner didn't want to spend all night with some random stranger instead of his hot ass special lady friend?..wow what a dick 🤡
Kevin Costner is a fascinating gifted man. I’ve always history and the beauty of nature. I will be watching. He’s one of the few I believe is genuine and it’s refreshing! Best wishes to him in this new chapter. I bet it helps keep him balanced and youthful!! So blessed.

Fascinating conversation between friends. Thanks for opening the window for us to watch and hear.
What a stand up guy- awesome that he’s personally showing his movie to the Marines!! My dad was 18 year old marine in Korea- thankyou sir!
A stand up guy doesn’t vote for Obama
@@HWG-wm8ld Hey, he'll stump for both sides, though. Obama AND Liz Cheney! 😂
dood this is simply promoting a movie. its not courageous.

Great interview. When i was 15 my brother was wounded severely in Vietnam. My parents were tough people, not physically. They didn't cut me much slack and I'm glad. I had the thousand yard stare, but i kept it inside. we visited my brother every weekend where i would spend most of time wandering around this gigantic hospital full of wounded Sailors and Marines. Thousands of them. I once held the hand of blind marine who thought i was his girlfriend until help came. He died shortly after that. When i was 17 I joined the Navy. I had been attacked with knives and once with a fork (no knives available). I was on leave visiting someone who went to a private college. I was in a bar and the nit wit next to me said " we don't like your kind around here" not the first time it happened too much (1973). All the stress i had built up during my teens came to me at once. I thought about all those wounded guys. I had 3 choices verbal assault, violent assault or walk away. I knew in that second that if i started either assault he would have won and I'd just be getting out of Attica at age 70. I turned to my friend and said "get me out of here before i kill this guy". He did and I went back to the Navy in peace. I had PTSD but it made me stronger in some ways. I've seen the worst things human beings can do to each other and chose another path.
I had tough, but loving parents too. 50-60 years ago, our parents were parents, not our friends. Thank you for your service, sincerely. And thank you for having the sense to know when to walk away. The key to happiness is gratitude. We learned gratitude by having to work hard for everything we wanted.
God bless you, & God bless America, land that we love!
Sailors love telling sea tales
May God bless you. And I'm glad you didn't let an arrogant idiot provoke you. May you find peace and happiness.
Holding the hand of a blind marine, while thinking you were his girlfriend....really melted my heart. God bless always.
It's funny when Kevin mentioned The Big Chill (one of my favorites)... but I think about Kevin EVERY TIME I watch it. Great story.
I’ve never heard him mention it ever.
@ForlornFreddy I haven't either, but I did know it was him, I'm not sure how, but I think it was an IMDB note. One of those little know facts you can use when you play parlor games 🤪🙃

This could be one of the best down to earth interviews I have seen Kevin Costner do. Great job Adam!
Very true and inspiring
I love the Costner movie "Mr. Brooks" . It is a fine dark thriller . Costner as a orthodontist serial killer ! Wow , a real treat ...
An underrated gem, great twist finish.
@Michael I agree. I have friends watch it to show Mr. Costner's versatility and to see how quickly they figure out Hurt's deal. But, he was a box sneaker manufacturer, not an Orthodontist. 😂😂
Absolute gem of a movie. I recall watching it and being surprised/shocked at his performance. Great actor but that was something different.
Whoa. He got Kevin Costner on the show!
Not really a big deal since he has done every single show he could do to promote Horizon.
They's pals.
Does coaster not do interviews?
The punisher logo tells everyone you are a tool.
The name dropping works!
HIS VOICE IS SO SOOTHING AND A NATURAL RELAXATION TECHNIQUE!!
I could talk to you guys for hours around a campfire in Big Bear Lake under millions of stars!
Yellowstone will not be the same without you 💔
So Very True 😢😢😢😢
Long time fan of both you guys. Real guys emanating the real deal... keep up the good work, and thnx Adam for sharing.
The amount of press he's doing for this movie is remarkable.
The story of how he got the Dances script is still my fav
Mon acteur prefere❤ feire de votre nouveau film horison❤ jai hate de le voir❤il sera merveilleux comme vous❤zohra zohra
He didn't get it. He requested the writer to write a novel first then adapt it.
I haven't seen a movie in theaters in over 10 yrs. I want to go see this one. I can't wait for the weekend!
I will support him. And go see this movie as much as I hate Hollyweird.
You should have at least come out for top gun Maverick, among many others.
I haven’t been to a movie theater since 2007, and I am taking my mom to go see this movie. A movie I can take my 87yo mom to without having to worry about off putting sex scenes between same sex couples. A great story about how our countries western culture of the good old days.
@@joanneweed1683 Spider-Man? Bourne Ultimatum?
@@joanneweed1683 I will still boycott Hollyweird but this I will see.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is what you officially call a "bromance".
🤣🤣Well said. Nailed it. Lol.
💯 💯💯😂
No! Bromance is a liberal term! It's just two men who share respect for one another and they are friends!
Trump much?
These two men are my favorite. Always love Keven’s career and Adam I discovered on Love Lines. I am taking my 87yo mom to see Horizon. Thank you for entertaining me.
Make sure you get her lots of snacks! Have fun 😊
Open Range is my favorite Western. Look forward to Horizon
Such a straight ahead guy after a lifetime of success in filmmaking and telling great stories. I was fortunate to share a business class with Kevin at CSUF back in 1978. As I recall he was also quite the baseball player. "Nobody can outwork me" is the attitude that makes the life you really want possible.
Cheers from a nice spot out west along the Oregon Trail!
This was a deep and fantastic discussion from both Adam and Kevin.
God it's so refreshing... Brilliant interview... Two guys being honest and just chatting...
What a pleasant experience it is to hear an actual conversation between two people.
About that 'It' factor that Adam says Kevin has, I think it goes to the ordinariness (in the best sense) of being around someone who just digs into the work...and the work is actually something that inspires him enough. It's not work for a pretentious reason. There's a human connection. It's work that says "You wanna hear a good story ?" Otherwise why bother ?
And people miss that simpler 'version' of life and it's stories...and feel its tempo in the rhythms of Costner's work and speaking.
ETHICS IS ONE OF OUR BEST LESSONS BECAUSE IT WILL PRODUCE MORALS!!
An interview of an American film icon, what a treat. Thank You Ace for sharing with us civilians
I took my parents, husband & 8 friends separately to see Dances With Wolves in the big theater, about 15 times & fell inn love with rhe West & have been involvred in horses because of Dances With
Wolves.
I can't wait until tonorrow, to see an extension of Dances. I will take other friends back with me, just to be enveloped in our history & the story of Anerica! I hope you all go & enjoy it too. One thing We always do is listen to.the music while watching the credirs to the absolute end and then take a breath & feel like you have absolutelt taken it all in!
Kevin is so good at keeping us there until they disappear o er the horizon, or look seemingly forever, at what they acconplishef!
I'll see you all at the movies! I don't anticipate being disappointed. Cheers all enjoy! Ann R. Mabry
People like him because you can tell he’s a good loving guy with real principles.
Field of Dreams" brought things to my mind and touched my deep emotions. I feel there is so much to that movie people miss. My beloved dad, an incredible renaissance man, that worked on technology that went to the Moon., that grew up in poverty on the wild 'Downeast' coast of Maine, died last year and many times I still remember him coming out of the woods, inviting me to go trout fishing with him on a lovely murmuring stream, or go clamming, braving waves crashing over the boat to uninhabited islands. these things actually happened to me because my dad brought me along with him. The "field of dreams are like those memories
Growing up watching KC movies and listening to AC on Loveline...These two men are real Americans!!!
This was such a grate interview. As a small business owner hearing these to talk about work, passion and life was amazing.
ABSOLUTELY KEEPING THE FAITH IN OUR KEVIN MICHAEL COSTNER!!
Fantastic interview!! Kevin Costner will always be one of my favorite actor of all time!
Costner talking about his father is what may be missing today……Fathers need to be fathers….not an equal buddy…..a life teacher is the most important role
If you raise your children to be good, upstanding members of their communities then maybe when they are adults you get to be friends. Being friends with your children is a privilege you earn through all those hard years as a parent when you CAN’T be their friend.
Great conversation. Thanks. The values being expressed by Adam and Kevin give me hope for humanity. I just wish these kind of sentiments didn't
feel like throwbacks to a bygone era. We need more of this kind of stuff in our culture.
Kevin relaxes when he is having a conversation with a friend like Adam.
Love this interview with 2 friends, 2 legends, and talking to the genius story teller, Mr. Kevin ….. great, amazing…the multitasker … hero…intense and so charismatic… tough as nails with a gentle soul… We all love you, Mr. Kevin!❤
Tough as nails but votes blue, I don’t think so
No. "We" don't all love him (Kevin).

Something to go to the theater for this werkend. 😊
Thanks Kevin & Adam.
A very easy going and enjoyable conversation. Thanks guys!
ABSOLUTELY A MAGNIFICENT STORYTELLER!!
Adam, thank you for allowing myself to see a side of Kevin I thought would never exist, wow what a human , I admire a person like myself , an “earth worm” you know ! A person wh has dirt under his fingernails, a real person , a man.
Great Americans right here 🇺🇸
I think I know what Adam is gonna vote in this election, but much of Hollywood is gonna vote the wrong way. To say that there are two good Americans here, I still find pretty hard when it comes to RECENT Hollywood actors. Maybe Kevin is more like Clint Eastwood. I could get behind your comment then.
@@oceanbnd Kevin will vote for Biden again.
He voted for Obama, that tells you everything.
@EddieHenderson92 so will adam, by voting RFK
Voting for Obama and backing Liz Cheney makes you a "great American"????
Yikes!
Loved this episode ❤
Kevin, I feel that you have handled the unfortunate situation with Yellowstone with real grace. I loved the show and accepting that the bar is quite high, I think it was some of your best work. I know that as someone about your age, it has been particularly nice for me to clearly enjoy your work as a young man, then just fully a man, and now a mature man. I love that you can be every bit as compelling as you have aged as you were in Dances with Wolfes. There is a poignance and gravitas to your work now. Finally, just thank you.
This is how the majority of men used to interact, behave, and communicate; it was ubiquitous, not exceptional. Their exchange was refreshing; that it's so novel is a little depressing.
I LOVE BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT MY JOB!!
Wow great conversation, cool, thank you.
What a superb man. Have been a fan forever, he's the epitome of a 'man' 💕
I love the honesty in this video I found it extremely helpful. So grateful to see this interview
Sir Costner, Thank you for the beautiful cinematic experience that I’ve missed from OG Movie Pictures. 🙏🏽
And thank you telling our story! 🤧🤠🎬
It’s manners, inbuilt respect and gracious honesty
Kevin's "talisman" is that he believes in the America that should be, hence, he makes sweeping films about her. He will not stop until we all get it.
I am only a naturalised citizen, but I get it in a large part through film-making like these.
What a great interview/ story told by to friends. Hearing them talk about their fathers was like hearing someone describe my father. Thanks for sharing definitely will be seeing Horizon
Sir Kevin Costner .. this is ur next journey ... Good Luck it FOREVER 😊❤️👏🏽
I only asked for this yesterday ! Good work !
Such a refreshing interview. Leaps and bounds better than most interviews of this type, because Adam actually cares about the topic, saw and appreciated the movie, and listened to Kevin and engaged in conversation rather than than working through a prepared list of questions.
I first saw Kevin in American Flyers. My brother and I used to watch that as kids.
That movie makes me cry every time at the end. Just writing this I get a little choked up.
Costner is so successful whether I like his product or not. Amazing man with many hats.
The movie "Party of Five". The two snippet parts. I knew immediately there was something there and Kevin would stand out in the industry. He did. "No Way Out" and the rest is history.
One of my mom’s favorite movies was Dances with Wolves.
She passed away in 2005.
Every time I see the movie on tv I think of how much she loved Dances with Wolves.
Thank you Kevin.

I like how Kevin is just real in this interview.
I’ll watch anything Costner does. Fantastic conversation !
The Western genre is such a profound setting and character study that is sadly lost on modern movie audiences. You listen to Costner and Carolla, and understand exactly how Westerns were relatable to the more masculine men of past generations. Self reliant, resilient, grit, determination and sacrifice are words that you associate with Westerns and I’m happy men like Costner are still telling these stories.
It’s generational. The western is what my grandparents were into cause that was the future. I was born after humans went to space. It’s a societal shift, as to what was the new “frontier” is. The area I grew up, Central Valley CA. The farmers, dairy farmers and ranchers kids were the rich kids at school.
@@User-54631 Westerns have always taken place in the past. At no point were westerns the future.
❤❤❤❤I couldn’t agree more. What a wonderful interview. Kevin is so gifted!
Kevin is not only a man, man, he is mature and has developed into someone who respects and acknowledges women... he knows how to portray people. Let's go to the cinema!
Really wish Costner would discuss Fandango. That’s such an amazing movie.
This was so freaking great
Also, The Postman is one of the most uplifting movies I've ever seen, and it's one of my favorites from the 90s. Epic film. I can't understand, when I watch it, why it isn't appreciated more than it is.
My favorite moments in podcasts is when the host asks a question that is almost a minute long..😂 Adam says, “what’s your routine and then continues going on for 50 seconds”…I think the problem is many of these podcast hosts did not set out to be a host but rather to perform.
Bad interviewer
This was a great interview. Adam and Kevin are really good together. Would love to hear more of them.
I just watched "A Perfect World" for the first time, two days ago. Weird timing. Really good flick.
Thank you for your storytelling Sir! 🙏🏽🫡🇺🇸
His best movie was a perfect world man he was great in that movie 💯
Kevin is all love for the story and perseverance all his life so far. Love mostly I think he reveals without shame or discomfort.
Interesting to hear Costner speak off the cuff. Him describing what was clearly "piece work" carpentry gives me something to relate to. I'm not going to say he's a Man's man, but he certainly could have been a friend of mine..... and maybe someday still. Nice interview Adam.
I knew Kevin would be great from the first episode of “Home Improvement” he steered that show and its success
Field of dreams and bodyguard are two of the greatest…. Watched both of those at least ten times each in my younger days……. Seems not so long ago….
Wow! I have a tremendous new respect for Kevin. I knew almost nothing about him, who he is as a person. He's a good man. A solid man. He's such an inspiration. Thank you both for having this conversation in public, so that we could all be blessed by it.
I like how Adam and Kevin talk theh grew up as cowboys 100 years ago.... 😂
Horizon was a fantastic movie!!! Can’t wait to see part 2. I knew it would be good because The Best of the very Best starred and produced the movie!!!♥️♥️♥️🌹
Thank you Adam!!!
This was so good. Their friendship is so special. Made me see the movie today. Can’t wait to see chapter 2.
Was episode one boring???
Looking forward to this film, Coster always delivers.
ALSAYS!!!

I really really enjoyed this Mr. Carrolla. Love the interaction you have with Mr.Costner. Very genuine and humble persons just 2 men having a conversation.
Now Adam you have your own followers. ❤over 300,000 WOW well done ❤❤❤❤
Kevin filmed part of 'The Postman' (1997) in Metaline Falls, Washington about 1.5 hours from where I live in Spokane, WA and I've met several people who worked as extras on the set who had nothing but glowing things to say about the guy, they also enjoyed working alongside Tom Petty who has a cameo in that film.
Silverado is one of my all time favorite movies
Grew up just like Kevin , who he is shows in all his work. A gentleman and storyteller. Thanks for this Adam. Always fight the good fight. 👍
Kevin is definitely a Great Actor & Greater as He increase 's with life. Thanks Kevin, keep up your fantastic work!!
Thank you forever, Kevin Costner, for doing a fairly accurate biopic of Wyatt Earp. I saw it at the theater 8 times, because I loved Tombstone and Westerns in general. I felt it was no contest as to which film was the most entertaining, but I am so glad your movie was made and stayed close to actual history. The pool table scene, well...maybe not, but I enjoyed the exploration of the before and after events of Tombstone.
Love Kevin. He knows We kill to live and live to die.If we stay here we die. We have nothing to lose. We must explore the lands beyond the ice wall and center of our Plane directly under Polaris at Magnetic North to see if Hyperborea exists and if there is a portal out of this no win situation.
Beyond the ice wall? What are you talking about?
Dude took mushrooms
Costner, Mike Rowe! 🏆 Ace got his fastball back! 😊
Thanks Ace, Kevin seems like the real deal. Big fan of his work through the years
Kevin, the more I hear about your life, the more I love your movies. You sir are a national treasure. God bless you and your family! And by the way, Horizon is objectively a masterpiece. Fuck the critics!
Thanks Ace love Kevin and his movies. Please Mr. Costner finish my favorite Yellowstone. Great night on this Podcast.
Fantastic interview Adam! Can’t wait to see this movie. I hope he has much success with it!!
