Good stuff mate. I have a few different med kits for different uses, including a car med kit, a Mountain Leader kit, a Bug Out kit and. a Bushcraft kit. Each is tailored to the specific environments and likely injuries/illnesses. Something a lot of people forget is maintenance of your body and illnesses as well as injury, ie blister care, headaches, diarrhoea etc. As mentioned elsewhere I have various medication in my kits too.

PS I hate the term, "boo boo kit', so glad you didn't say that!

Spot on. And knowledge is key also. No good having the gear with no idea how to use it. 👍

@@TheBugOutShop absolutely, you can do more harm than good if you don't know how to use your kit.

Good info as always Leigh because accidents happen when we least expect it. I put my own together & included personal medication, and a selection of painkillers & some broad spectrum antibiotics.

Hi, if I apply an Israeli bandage to a casualty ... Will the casualty suddenly decide to start murdering innocent families ?

Wow, excellent video, thank you. I'm missing a few bits in my kit that's for sure. Love the advice to twist the bandage for extra pressure.

Leigh maybe you should do the making of Quik clot, its easy to do and everyone at home can do it. Just Cayenne pepper, Kaolin Clay Powder, and Yarrow dried, blend it down and together. Stops bleeding in heart beat and stops infection in its tracks, can be used with all your trauma pads I use it with the first aid kit I got from you.

Good vid Leigh, very interesting and informative. I know giving painkillers or whatever is a no no if treating a "stranger" for example, however I once bit into a "fig" whilst in the middle of the Highlands and split my Tooth on the bloody seeds! I personally always include tooth tincture, painkillers, antiseptic cream and "Deet" for the mozzies! I was also advised that one of the best things to Use if You have nothing else is "Clingfilm" particularly on burns! Keeps out the Crap and keeps the fluid body fluid in! Then can use any Cold items over it ( frozen peas ect or burn gel if available )

You could do with having some saline solution to irrigate the wounds or the eyes if needed

It's a comprehensive trauma kit you've assembled. In addition to the Hemostatic gauze you've already mentioned, I would suggest adding the following:
Steri-Strips - ideal for non-bleeding, shallow, closed cuts.
SWAT-T Tourniquet - A versatile tourniquet, suitable for use on children and in situations where CAT tourniquets may not be applicable.
Instant Cold Ice Pack - for addressing injuries that lead to swelling and inflammation, such as joint sprains, muscle strains, or bruises.
Instant Hot Pack - beneficial for muscle tension or joint stiffness.
Antibacterial cream - essential for preventing infection.
Artery Forceps - a versatile, multipurpose tool.
Small Biohazard Bags - to responsibly dispose of used materials
Since I prefer to reserve my trauma kit exclusively for this purpose, I also carry a separate, smaller first aid kit enhanced with:
    Prescription Medications.
Over-the-Counter Medications (e.g., Imodium, Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Aspirin).
After Bite - an insect bite relief handy pen.
A long adhesive dressing strip - suitable for long scratches or injuries where a regular plaster is insufficient.
    Thermometer
    Hope this helps

Thanks for watching and for your suggestions which all are valid. as a first aider it is un wise to administer any medications or ointments to others but ok for personal use. plus there is only so much you can carry in one kit. First aid kit in my opinion is just enough to give the initial treatment which to prevent any worsening of any injury before seeking more aid.
