A few things to point out that were missed in your great video that does give awesome insight to what things to do in Palm Springs:
1.Every Thursday night on downtown Palm Springs is a street fair. Featuring food trucks, popup 10x10 tents of homemade goodies and small buisness and local organization from Palm Springs. Walk the 3 blocks on main street as you listen to music and watch spray paint art create a master piece in less then 10 minutes.
2.College of the Desert flea market happens every Saturday and Sunday. Great place to get coverups for the pool, sunglasses, wallets, cheap kids toys, and more.
3.Living Desert Zoo great for families to see Rhinos, hand feed a Giraffes, and if you go mid March to April its their Zoo Lights.
4.Coachelle Valley recently became home to a minor league hockey team Firebirds, association to the NHL Seattle Kraken Team.

I agree and really enjoyed your video. I just wanted to add that although Palm Springs is really dog friendly we found it odd that dogs weren’t welcomed on the trails even if they were leashed.😢

Cathedral City local here! Also keep in mind that during November-January is pretty high in traffic since everyone is visiting for holidays (more typically ‘Snow Birds’, which the locals refer to as ppl from Washington, Canada etc) so be prepared for that!

Exactly. And he needs to factor in drive times for Southern California freeways. No way can you get to Palm Springs from Los Angeles anymore in 2 hours with the traffic congestion, even at midnight. That hasn’t been possible since the 80’s…😂

Thanks for not bothering any locals while filming. We hate that kind of stuff here in our little town. It is funny tho how so many make this town more that they what it actually is which is a glorified resort for the rich and famous while the rest of live with high taxes all year round and no locals discounts anywhere.

Excellent video, Chris, and your daughter is adorable! Not sure if you had a chance to check it out while you were there, but the Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs that opened in 2020 is the former Riviera Hotel, and they retained the original bones and layout of the legendary Riviera. The beachy decor, of course, screams Jimmy Buffett. So many cool features, but as you make your way from the lobby down the stairs to the pool area, the impressive door handles have the numbers 5 and 9, because the Riviera opened in 1959. I've been going to PS since I was 10 years old. It's my home away from home.

Thanks Chris ,for showing us that lovely part of California I was there once in 1995,with friends in June. It was way too hot during the day, even at the pool ,that we stayed in the nice hotel room with A/C. I think we went out for lunch. I think we took the tram seeing nice views. At night it cooled off quite a bit and had fun going to dinner and to the bars.

Interesting geological fact is that the hot springs in Desert Hot Springs are on the other North American plate side of the San Andreas fault while in Palm Springs, there is plenty of cold ground water. The San Andreas fault also runs through the parking lot of the Indian Casino on I-10 outside of town and with regards to I-10, watch out for the construction and the huge amounts of trucks.

Visited PS last July with the family staying at one of the Downtown Hotel and visited most of the places on the video including Marlin Monroe statue and the Aerial Tram. During July it was super hot at 116 degrees even around 10PM. So probably would avoid going there at that time next time.
For the Ariel Tram how does the parking lot bus work? One thing I regret was driving all the way up there which was an uphill climb and lots of rubber burning. So would probably take the bus next time to go up.

Pala is one of my favorite casinos around the area... people just make the really long drive there

So funny-I grew up in this area, and those giant dinosaurs weren’t always painted those ridiculous colors. They didn’t cost any money and anyone could go inside and climb around in them for free. Back in the 80’s, there wasn’t a gift shop there, and it wasn’t a tourist attraction; it was just an old truck stop where someone had put these giant dinosaurs. My boyfriend at the time did some construction work there.
As for close airports, there is one major airport you forgot to mention: its Ontario international airport and it’s much closer than LAX. It may help some people fly in and save them a long drive if they can get a flight into ONT. LAX is more like 3 hours away from the Palm Springs area than 2 hours, if you factor in Southern California traffic, which you have to do. I live in LA now, and 30 years ago it used to only take 2 hours-but now when we drive out to the desert, the minimum time it takes with normal traffic is 3 hours-sometimes 4 hours. And we know the shortcuts. California has become ridiculously overcrowded and the freeways are always congested-even at night and on weekends.

Skip Palm Springs. Stay in Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, or Indian Wells. They have better resorts and no overrun by the homeless.
