another compliment...I appreciate that you stay on point on your theme...shopping and saving and the consequent meals... I have listened to 3 other Canadians doing similar videos as you do, but so far they spend so much time on personal matters, that I could not pay attention to more than 5 min.
Melanie, those fast fuel coupons are fantastic. I don't know how or why people leave them behind, they must not realize they are throwing away money when they don't take them. Another great shopping week, can't wait to see what you make. Enjoy! Catherine
Catherine, You have no idea the conversations I have with people and how many of them say "I don't shop at Sobeys!!" I understand that. But they could.
I can’t wait to see what you do with the pepperoni - I have a mishmosh of different kinds in my cheese drawer that I look at every time I open the fridge 😆
Great bargains this week! I love espresso coffee, too, and what I do with that is mix up a batch of my own coffee using a cheaper coffee "base". I mix in a smaller portion of the good stuff (maybe 3/4ths to 1/4th) and I've been very happy with that way to stretch the coffee. I should add that we do that because we drink a lot of coffee.
I'm going to try it full strength first. I do love a good eye widening strong coffee. Then I might do a blend. I typically purchase dark roast so that should work.
What will you do or make with the markdown bananas? Eat them as is, bake banana bread, make banana smmothies? I bought some recently and found they were too brown to eat so I'm looking for ideas.
We mostly use them in smoothies. I haven't made baked goods in weeks but you could make banana muffins. The handsome one will eat them as is. He eats a lot more fruit than me. He used some last week in yogurt with granola. You could put them in oatmeal.
My hubby and I don't celebrate V. day, cause our Anniversary is on the 16th...we also do a special meal. I like your chowder idea. Could you post an outline of your recipe. I realize when you do from scratch you don't necessarily follow a recipe or measurement , but thats ok, neither do I. I do have an Epicure chowder mix, if its needed
Good deals! The Walmart brand of gf pasta is also better than most others. My favourite is riztopia. Gf fettuccini tends to break into tiny pieces when you take it from the package and so they may have disconinued it. Catelli and Barila don’t have the same style. One does fettuccini and the other does linguini. I don’t believe great value makes gf fettuccini. At least, I’ve never seen it in my Walmarts.
I will probably end up buying regular fettuccine. I'm just trying to be a bit better to my belly and I have that Alfredo sauce coming. I had visions of fettuccine chicken alfredo! I've noticed in the past that if I put a GF pasta in a soup that the pasta breaks down. Any thoughts on that?
Great shopping again! I was wondering about the 50% off oat milk I could see in the the top left corner . Your never mentioned it but I’m guessing the kind you bought worked out still cheaper because you had a coupon? Fab deal on the pepperoni. I’ve used the pizza delight packages for years for my pizza but haven’t seen a sale in ages and it’s gotten way up there price wise so I’m on the hunt for other ways to buy pepperoni and I’m thinking sticks would be cheaper and I could slice before freezing or cut in small chunks . It takes me a long while to use it. That’s strange about the fettuccine missing from shelves. I’ll be looking next time I go. Have you decided on a substitute? Make from scratch? Lol that’s so ridiculous the mark ups on sauces they can sell for 1.25 but four dollars more other times!!!that’s such a huge difference. Reminds me of being at GT one time and a senior lady was shopping with her daughter , I eavesdropped a little. Lol Daughter had her Mother out for monthly shop. But didn’t nt seem to care about prices. They were at the pasta section. Daughter was saying just get this Mom, and the Mom was looking all concerned and asking the price. The daughter sort of rolling her eyes, looking impatient. It was pasta sauce not on sale and was almost $3 I think! I’m this was a few years back. It was on sale the week before for 99 cents. It was on sale that week at superstore for around a dollar too. So I spoke up and said just that . Well the daughter was clearly annoyed with me, saying they were fine and put a couple of pricey sauces in the cart. The mom looked ready to cry practically. I could have cryed too. I felt like saying well I hope you’re paying! Anyhow I’m now 65 myself , and I’ve always worried about seniors and them paying so much for things unnecessarily. That daughter could have been shopping sales for her Mom. Yes good of her to take her out but my goodness. Some people have no sense of what a difference it can make in total spent. Like your videos are perfect to show people how it’s done!!! You don’t just shop leaving people to say well I can’t cook meals with that!!! You’ve cooked the meals. Shown just exactly in great detail how to shop, how to plan meals and cook them and most importantly how to accumulate food to make it easier every week to make great meals with a vast array of chooses. Excellent job Melanie! ❤
Oat milk was not as good of a buy as the almond but I actually don't love oat milk. It's OK. I just prefer nut milks more. I try to help people in stores with sharing better buys. Sometimes, they are thankful and sometimes not
I noticed you didn’t pick up the milk that had a 50%. I will choose one of those if the bb is within 3 days. I’ve never had any go bad up to 2 weeks after the date, but I try to use it up before that. I haven’t tried the enjoy brand yet. I am trying to use the earth’s own because it is Cdn. I’m trying to make more conscious choices to buy Cdn. The oat nog is still $4.99 at my store. Good markdown on the vegan milks no rush to use the oat nog. Coffee prices are going to spike this year, so that was a no brainer.
@ that was a great deal. I typically don’t pick the oat milk because it can cause blood sugar spikes. I’ve been going with the soy milk lately, because I don’t always want something I’m cooking or baking to taste like nuts.
When a person puts in the effort, they are rewarded. You got a lot of food for $44 approx . Well done!
Thanks, Kathryn.
You are the greatest shopper ever Melanie. 🎉❤😊
Thanks, Sandie.
Another fantastic week and video! I love that you can use others coupons they leave behind.
@@tracyq989 It blows my mind that people leave them behind.

@choward8444 Well...sometimes I get shary. My plants. My dogs. Lol
You did wonderfullly well.I’m almost as delighted as you!
Thanks, Barbara.
Great deals. The burgers and milk for less than $1.00...awesone. Meals are going to be fun this week!!
OMG...I feel like going back and getting more burgers before the sale changes over.
@adventuresingroceryland I probably would. Lol

Makes me crinch for the one who leaves them behind and so happy that Melanie gets extra money!!😊😊😊

I am making 2 very out of the box recipes with the pepperoni. I'm actually excited to share them.
Great week! Kudos to you!
@@delledonne1 Thank you!
$2.35 for the pepperoni is a good deal 🎉
I was excited.
I love to watch what you buy and can’t wait to see what you make! It always looks nutritious and delicious!
Thanks, Dharma. ❤️
Your "fish soup" is lost on me, but to each their own! lol You get some major deals in Canada on stuff!
@@qq1651 We enjoy a good chowder!

That was a great haul! Are you making pepperoni gravy with the tomatoes and pepperoni?? 🤤
Good job!
Thanks, Madison.
Wow!! 🥳🥳🥳

In the US, “natural flavor” is definitely a chemical. May be different in Canada.

Groceries are rising so high here in Virginia., USA. So disgusting. Prays for all.
It really is concerning.
Awesome deal on those Spaghetti sauces ! Saving $4 each !
Did you have a refrigerator/ freezer in your hotel room ?
Yes, tiny bar fridge with a tiny freezer! But for frozen goods (lobster) I just left in my vehicle as it was -10 or colder the entire time i was away.

Yes. Even 50% off the price was more than what I paid for the sale milk minus the $2 coupon. Pl7s also, I prefer nut milk to oat milk

Are the deposits you pay returnable or just a fee? Asking from the US.
Depends. Bottles or cans we get half back. Milk, nothing back.
