Wow, great video. I've made the decision to get into reloading and can't afford the other progressive presses, so I'm picking up my Pro 1000 tomorrow or Thursday from midwayusa (on sale through tonight for $153). This is very informative and offers tips that I probably would've wasted a lot of time on figuring out myself. Thanks! Will watch them all.
i'm new to reloading and have not had any chain issues "yet" but as soon as I do, I'll be upgrading to your spring setup, thanks! I'll also be making a baffle!
hi,nice video where you buy your brass and bullets and all the accesories im thinking to start making my own bullets,i need a good side that i can order, thank you..
You need a “Lee double disc kit” for a larger charge. Like a .223 cartridge. To use a Micro Bar for .223 or large cartridge. I believe you need to use 2 of them and match the settings with a double disc kit.
I have not reloaded for a long time now, but IIRC, with the ramp 1/3 up, I would stick a case up into the powder die (with one hand) and cycle a powder load into the case, using my fingers on the powder bar. (using the other hand). Then dump the case onto the scale cup. But, if your cases have a uniform weight, (all the same brand & batch) then you can zero your scale with a case, and just weigh a case+powder load.
I really want to know if they sell a bullet feeder for the 223? I really want to have a system that don't require the use of my hands on a moving press! thanks
Went from a Lee Turret to a Pro 1000 about 3 weeks ago. I have an idea fro 2 other mods that could be helpful but can't figure out how to do them. Perhaps you can figure out how to make a shut-off of some sort for the case feed tubes. There are times that I DO NOT want a case to feed (during set-up, etc.). The same holds true for the bullet feed. Want to be able to shut-off or stop bullet feeding during set-up etc. I have broken my chain 2 times due to my own errors. Like the chain mod.
When you check the load by dumping out the charge and then put the case back in the station it was how do you avoid the station trying to prime the case again? I'm assuming the powder charge and priming happen at the same station correct?
I use 4 different presses to load over 25 different calibers the pro 1000 has seen many 1000's of rounds .I also have had to learn many tricks with this press . If you can get a Dillon Square Deal B . It is the best home pistol loader that I have found . Safe shooting friend .
I used a older Kodak Z7590 digital camera. Video I cut and edited with Corel Video Studio Pro X3. Audio used a head set boom mic and add the audio later and cut it in with Corel.
Light is something that I find very important. I used 2. Two, 4 foot fluorescent bulb fixtures over my work bench. But the most important thing is bulb color temperature / kelvin. I use 6500k Light bulb. This is the closes thing you can find to sun light out of a store. There is higher you can find on the internet. Thanks
I have seen somany Improvement videos on youtube about the lee pro 1000. Lee should ask to incorporate all the fixes on the videos and release an upgrade kit.
It's a damn shame you have to modify this product. One would think the company would have fixed the issue. I bought the square one and I couldn't get it to set primers correctly, after fighting with Dillion, I sent them back their garbage and bought an RCBS single stage press. I am shopping for a progressive press now, but not something I have to re-engineer. Needless to say I will no longer buy dillion. Sorry dillion zombies.
Dude u just saved my sanity. Thanks so much.
I like your instructional video, advice was welcomed, and look forward to watching more of your videos.

Good to here. Micro bar is a must if you don't have one.
Best of Luck!
I use Titegroup to and don't have a problem. How close are you keeping the tolerance?
1911 do u own a loadmaster? Can u compare the two? Like to see both sides please.

So where did you get that spring from? How long is it at standing and what's the pull weight on it for full extension?
What powder are you using?
Are you using a powder Baffle?
does it crimp on last die
Where do you get the spring?
Glad to here. Best of luck. Are you able to hold +/-.2gr now?
A baffle help’s keep the amount of powered more consistent. You can get a baffle at Midway USA.
Yes I do and don’t care for the loadmaster. It is a five station press but you loss one. Because it primes on the up stock.
very good tips must try them.

That's the best $10! Glad to here it is all dialed in.
If you have question let me know.
