Hello sir, thanks for your comment. I am happy that you like the strap. Still no complaints here. During the summer I have my leather watch straps stored in a cool and dark place. Temperatures here in Northern Europe are around 27 degrees. I don’t want to ruin my leather straps with this heat 😁 So my Alpinist is on an olive green NATO strap as we speak 👌🏻
I have the Alpinist with the Strapcode Angus Jubilee strap and it is beautiful. I'll be ordering this Colareb strap for wintertime wear. Thanks for the great review and video. Cheers from Chicago, Illinois, USA
Great choice! I have a Strapcode oyster style bracelet laying here ready for an unboxing video 😂 The Angus Jubilee looks amazing. Have you seen the new two-tone version? Cheers from The Netherlands.
Thanks for your video. I just purchased an Aplinst and while it is in shipment from Japan I am shopping for the band. I was looking at this very band and appreciate seeing it on your piece.
This video was made in March 2018. I had a look on Cola Reb's website today (Aug 2020) but couldn't find the dark brown 'Tabacco' strap as shown in your 2018 video in the current Venezia collection, only 'Brown' color which is much lighter than the Tabacco one in your video. Do you have any idea if Cola Reb could do a special order for the apparently now obsolete/discontinued Tabacco strap as I really like that one? Thanks.
@@GadgetsforGentlemenThank you so much. BTW I would love to see vids about high-end watch cases/boxes, not for a huge collection but say half a dozen or so watches, e.g. made from high-grade tropical woods or leather, made in Italy/Germany etc. Not the usual cheaper stuff on eBay.
I got word back from Colareb. It is indeed out of stock. “Ciao, that kind of Tabacco is out of stock from 2019. We work with only true leather and the tones of some of the leather are never the same, since we do not use industrial manufacture procedures. This is why we had to change the strap in that orangish tone.”
wow so much coincidence, it is almost creepy i ordered the alpinist yesterday and i was looking at this exact same strap and then when i searched the brand colareb this video came up. and we are also both Dutch.
Haha. That is great to hear! The strap and the watch are amazing. You won’t regret it. An alternative could be (available at Bijenkorf) : www.hirschstraps.com/collections/hirsch-straps/products/hirsch-liberty-leather-watch-strap-brown?variant=1317567188 Also I want to try out the Alpinist on a mesh bracelet 😁
Hey how's it going? I was wondering what size of strap you bought, and your wrist size? I bought the regular size and my wrist is ~7.3", so I'm a little worried it'll be too small.
Hi Pim, for that amount I think it’s still a very good deal! The specifications and the history at this price point are very hard to beat. I am thinking of selling mine due to the fact that I don’t wear it enough. The green - gold combination makes it sometimes hard to combine/suit my outfit. If that’s no concern to you then I would definitely pull the trigger.
I’m very disappointed with the level of customer service at Colareb. I have worn one of your straps approx 10x and it have badly discoloured (not aged). I asked for a replacement or refund which was refused. You say “we agree it has been exposed to something”. I don’t. I know it has been worn in the most routine circumstance. The strap cost £50 and at £10 I would have been disappointed.
Thanks for the advice! Just bought the same strap and it is so beautiful and comfortable. My Alpinist is happy :)

Good advice again :) I couldn't resist to try it on. But I'll probably do the same as you. Thank you!

Gadgets for Gentlemen yes I have seen the two tone. It is amazing. Really brings out the gold on the dial.
I agree. I went for a more discrete option 😂 The two-tone reminds me quite a bit of a Rolex Datejust 😁 Can’t wait to throw the Strapcode on my wrist!
Like the leather band, but I bought strap codes jubilee metal band and it makes the watch pop.
The Angus Jubilee?
@@GadgetsforGentlemen yes
Lovely!
If only I could get this with a single deployant clasp!

The Hirsch Liberty looks also great. As well as the Strapcode Jubilee bracelet 😁
How much did shipment and fees cost from Japan?
I wonder how did you remove the original strap. I doesn't have the easy release toggle, or a hole to press on the side.
With a Bergeon spring bar tool 👍🏻
Great video! Do you think the alpinist would fit on a small wrist, about 6inch?
Yes it will!
My wrists are 6.3 inches 😁
Yes

I messaged Colareb for you. Will keep you posted here. You can also send me a DM on instagram.

I recommend the watch box by Goldenhead. You can find a video in my archives 😁

What size spring-bar does it take? Am sure it doesnt take 2.5mm fat springbars.
Hi, thanks for watching. The holes in the strap are actually quite big the way I remember it.
wow

Goed bezig!

Hi, all good here. Hope you are doing well. I bought a normal size. My wrists measure 6.3 inches.
@@GadgetsforGentlemen Hmm I think I will be okay with the regular size, thank you for your video and response.
You are very welcome. Hope you love the leather strap!

Dan B ,try Watchgecko.
I have the same watch but its loosing 45 secs per day and unfortunately , as good as it looks i can't live with that.
Wow. That is a lot! You can probably sell it for a fair price. The watch is sought after.
Donal Mahon , get it regulated?
Sadly the movement in your alpinist is the 6r15c and not the 6r15d with the corrected amplitude.
Hi, would you consider to sell the watch? Thanks for anwser, best regards!
Hi there, unfortunately this one will stay in my collection.
@@GadgetsforGentlemen ok. Too bad. I really want that watch. Do you know where can i purchase it from reasonable price in Europe?

@@GadgetsforGentlemen i took a new one spb121 from official retailer for under 550$ on discount. I think i did well :)
Send me some wristshots on my IG 😁
Good review. You can still find them for around 460 dollars so about 410 euro new. including import tax 500-550 Euro. You think is it worth the money?

I already did. Not sure if the wife is happy about it haha
If you are happy she is happy right? 😁
Not sure how it is in your country. But in the US there's a saying ... "if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy "
You Dont show how to remove and replace the attaches.
You are right. Here you can see how to remove the spring bars:

The problem with these straps is that they scratch easily.
