    We were invited to spend an entire day at a top UK dealer called Reference Audio and record our experience - I was like 'Hell Yeah!' We got complete free reign to listen and try anything, they get a bit of exposure on TH-cam - it's a win win (although I think I might be winning a little bit more!)
    Hope you all enjoy this, it's not an advert, no money exchanged hands, it's just my chatting about Hifi with passion and enthusiasm for the toys that I LOVE! :-) Enjoy.

    These are McIntosh’s best looking amplifier ever IMO. You need to see these in person to really appreciate it’s build quality and beauty. That demo room is absolutely stunning.

    The exploration of deep space (audio), is an expensive ambition for most. I'm an observing fan, limited by my reality. Only a dream for me. At least my experience here can be often repeated. Thanks!

    I heard the Marten stand mounts at the Toronto Audiofest. Was quite an impressive speaker. I wish I could listen to them in my room.

    I would love to hear those McIntosh amps, solid state and tubes in one chassis, wow!!!
    Almost everyone that is hearing what vinyl sounds like at a certain price point, when comparing it to streaming is realizing just how good vinyl truly is.
    Jay from Jay's Audiolab, bought a highend Kronus turntable and he said exactly what you just said, that vinyl is better. I have it all and love it all.
    Thank you for doing this, having this type of access to give the store an internet presence at tge same time having access to some of the best gear in the world is a win, win!!!

      Always reminds me of a Dalek from Dr Who, although the B&W Formation Duos take that look to the next level, pretty sure they say ‘exterminate’ when you use them!

    Noticed many McIntosh B&W combo in recent years. Personally I still think PassLab is the best amp to drive B&W, airy, sweet and full body specially female vocal.

    Hehh,, those AudioVectors at 6:30 are the most ear tortyrous pieces of pure shit, Iw ever had the unpleasant surprise to meet, in my whole life. 🥶
    Even "worser" than most of Klipsch,s speakers, made for extremely old folks,, +130years I guess. 😅
    What a nice hifi store and walkthrough. Cheers from a wintery Sweden, and thanks for your time and work,, 🍻🍻😋👍‍‍👍‍‍
    ( The look and craftmanship on the Olympica Nova II, pffhhh,, 🥰. Very hard to mix wood and metal like that, and to get it just right.
    Have never got the chance to test any Sonus Fabers thou,, yet.)

      Haha great comment, that made me chuckle! Had great fun making this video, and agree the Sonus Faber speakers are very pretty indeed, top craftsmanship!

      Your the first person I have heard to say that about these Audiovector speakers.
      I have done extensive research on this QR range and have not come across any negative reviews on them.
      I was tempted to buy this speaker but have had a bad experience with ribbon tweeters before ( I know these are AMT ) but they are know for being very revealing.
      In the end I went with B&W 704s2 at a heavily reduced price,
      They arrive today and will look forward to setting them up!

    I may be reading into this incorrectly but at the 11:30 mark, you gave me the impression that the network transport used gives way more transient attack and detail over something else....What was that something else?.
    I ask because in your streaming DAC comparison video, you replied to me saying you haven't had a chance to compare just purely network transports and the differences they bring. So I am curious if that has changed.

    • @SmallRoomAudio
      @SmallRoomAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, and thanks for watching! I think the main point I was trying to make here was that the Mscaler is great at increasing transient attack, assuming your source is reasonably good as a starting point. Hope that helps 😊

  • @hclandscapes
    @hclandscapes ปีที่แล้ว +1
