Tourists think the guards are there just for them! I’ve often had to explain they would be there if there were no tourists. They are there for us,(UK), not them.
I still think that Tourists are such a nuisance and it needs to be shut down to the public. Horses and Guards would certainly appreciate that.

I wonder if any one of these guards has any knee problems especially those who have to dismount from their horse, that's a lot of pressure they are putting on their knees?
Oh no!!! Here they come like sheep going over the top of a cliff, following one another…. Stop shoving your hands and face in the horses, they bite. Don’t know how the guards can stand the noise!!!

It is a public footpath and I believe through the gates is a walkway to Buckingham Palace
It is not a public footpath. It is MoD property and they can turf you out and shut the gates any time they feel like it.
The soldiers have to do crowd control, on top of their other duties, while the police stand there looking like dummies.
