- Auction record for most expensive 20th Century work ever sold 📣 Andy Warhol's 'Shot Sage Marilyn’ achieved $195 million in The Collection of Thomas and Doris Ammann Evening Sale.
They laughed when he said let’s begin the bidding at over $100 million then they realized he wasn’t kidding.

@@confucheese It's been dubbed. In the original the auctioneer mistakenly repeats that the opening bid is "one hundred thousand". They laughed at that figure.
Westside Gunn never disappoints. I learnt about the Salvatore painting via the Pray for Paris album. I just heard him sample this very auction on Peace 'Fly' god. This man has done a lot for the culture and educating the masses. These are the iconic moments in the art world! ✊🏿👑🎯

Insane, that was in the tens of thousands for one of those (yes they screen printed many of them) not to long ago. This is a obvious tax scam or money hiding/laundering scheme.

They spend fortunes and then when the painting enters the destination country they do a thousand maneuvers to avoid paying taxes, anyone who understands paintings knows what I'm saying.

Well with the painting they intend to sell it for more money. It does seem like poverty is more about politics these days than money. In America if you gave a homeless person 100k they would probably spend it all on drugs. Politically the population allows the homeless to shoot up in the streets, sleep on the sidewalks, and panhandle every corner. They do this out of idealistic ideas about the freedom of the individual. Also supposedly some people get rich off the homeless.

Not worth it. Many kf these silk screebs were done on the iriginal hife ones before the mass produced versions. Its a bit much.
