@@PeterIsesele point of correction, the old portal isn't available for a single student to apply for a study permit, if you use the old portal for a single person study permit, your application would be sent back to you unfortunately, I'm not saying it oo, it's an order on the portal

What if you already have a valid biometric. Will the visa application fee be the same?
I think there IS a question where it asks you if you have already taken the biometrics within the past few years?
In my case, i paid for the biometrics fee BEFORE applying and it forced me to pay for the FULL 235CAD fee. I had to ask for a refund for the first 85CAD but then again, I hadn't validated the receipt in the new portal and I figured I could do it AFTER submitting the application. I was wrong, you are forced to pay again if you HAVE NOT given them before.
I believe this isn't your case, if you have already given your biometrics then select 'Yes' in the application.
