I have the newer version and actually appreciate the pouch being softer minus the hardware. Not sure of the forgiving of the old pouch but find with the softer pouch I'm able to give it a smile when wearing as a shoulder bag. Thank you for the wear and tear Insights.

Yes they are, mind have softened some though from use but still strong.
