十戒頒布給猶太人，不殺人，理解為猶太人不殺猶太人，掃羅殺（盡）亞瑪力人，這不殺人戒應不適用。耶穌說: 只是我告訴你們、要愛你們的仇敵．爲那逼迫你們的禱告; 如果有人打你的右臉，連左臉也轉過來由他打。神要求掃羅殺（盡）亞瑪力人，跟耶穌論仇敵，有衝突
我們不能完全明白上帝的旨意，當年亞伯拉罕在神要毁滅「所多瑪」時也用他「有限的理智」和上帝「講數」，如果有十個義人就不毁滅「所多瑪」。創世記跟着説明男人(如兩位化作男性的天使)入到這城，隨時會被城中的男人「輪姦」，亞伯拉罕才明自上帝是公義的。神今天仍然在容忍人的罪惡。當神出手懲罰的時候，一定有衪公義的原因。
