Turtle swimming in the sea (Turtle, Kinetic Art)

  • Thanks for watching.
    It's been a while since I made a new kinetic art. This kinetic art was made based on the design of David C Roy's work called “Solo”. “Solo” is one of the master pieces that many subscribers have mentioned. I tried to express the turtle swimming in the sea by adding some design modifications to the original work. I look forward to your love.
    Additionally, this work operates in a spring driven mechanism, and the childWing assay is designed to rotate only clockwise by one-way rotation system. The turtle shape always maintains the same posture despite the shaking caused by the rotation of the wings by adjusting the center of gravity.
    Further, two kind of wood filaments (normal and dark) and wood stain (BONDEX PERFECT, walnet) were used to give the 3d printed part a wood look.
    All drawings are shared from Thingiverse website. I hope your enjoyable DIY life with my work.
    Thanks~

    It looks amazing! I didn't understand how magnets worked. In what order do magnets attract or repel? Do all magnets attract each other, or are there any with the same polarity? Can you explain how the magnets operate and in what order? 8:21

    Awesome adaptive design of “Solo”.
    Hope you don’t mind just a little constructive criticism:
    I know the fun novelty “how to@ videos get likes, but all the effects and bouncing around may make it a frustrating experience for anyone trying to actually glean dome of the detailed specs that are flashed on the screen for less than a second.
    That being said,
    Thank you for actually taking the time and making the effort to share what you have.
    Any chance you’ve got a link to some good old “boring”,detailed instructions.

    Por qué en este usas 2 resortes y en otros solo 1?

    • @housdrmoon
      @housdrmoon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ¡hola!
      Debido a que este modelo usa una rueda de bobinado separada, el par se reduce como en la relación de transmisión. Así que usé 2 resortes. Si hay un resorte más fuerte, solo uno es suficiente.
      Gracias :)

    Eu sempre tinha a curiosidade dos detalhes. É realmente incrível e lindo. Parabéns e muito obrigado Dr. Moon.
    P.S.: Cheguei a pensar em fazer um simples em madeira mesmo, claro creio que seja ainda mais complexo devido ao equilíbrio das peças, contudo, nunca encontrei um gabarito. Com uma 3D, o equilíbrio deve ser mais fácil de resolver, mas, tem que entender muito, nunca vi uma de perto :D

    Dr. Moon, I just finished mine. Thanks! I now will attempt to make the click sound much softer. I'm considering TPU for the Pawl and or a thin rubber material glued to the end of the Pawl. Also; My model runs at a faster speed it seems. How do I slow it down?

    • @housdrmoon
      @housdrmoon  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi~
      I think the TPU can make sound softer.
      Increasing total weight of kinetic sculpture will make it slow down.
      When you increase weight, it is important to maintain balance (center of gravity).
      Thanks:)

      @@housdrmoon Thank You! I have it in balance. Now I will add weight without changing the balance.

      @@housdrmoon I ordered TPU but I found another solution. I have a spring attached to the pawl. The spring is located inside the hole on the Main Block and acts as a dampener. Much less clicking noise now.

    There is one more thing I cannot find, The Round rubber band (1 EA, Ø 5 mm, L 2000 mm).Where di I find this? NO listing on Amazon or Ebay.
    Thanks

      Hi
      I got the rubber band from MISUMI website.
      If you can find a rubber band which has diameter from 4 to 6 mm and length 1800 mm or more, it maybe work well.
      Thanks:)

    • @housdrmoon
      @housdrmoon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably possible. However, spring specifications may vary due to changes in total weight caused by different materials.

    Very clever and very beautiful however, your special effects production, tends to take away from the maim interst.
    Don't you think?
