I totally agree to your comment. They know how to speak and defend their stand in public but when questioned by the law they can't give straight definite answers with just a simple yes or no. Even if they are professionals, their rationaliy decreases because of selfish subjective acts and impulse. Woman or not, people should value life whether the child is still in the womb or already been born because they have the right to live.
It's the parents' fault if they accidentally had an unwanted conceived baby but abortion in not the solution to it.
Why do pro choicers/pro abortion protesters say that a conceived baby or a fetus or unviable living piece of tissue (as called by one of the commenters I read in other videos like this) is not living and wanted to abort it? Because they know it has life and they wanted to end it-- kill it. It would be funny if a person says he will kill a rock despite knowing it is non-living thing. When life was formed, death is exists like a candle lit up but only to be blown out soon. It depends how people value life for it to end in a useless manner or a fulfilled life but innocent unwanted babies are affected by the decisions of the people who wanted to abort them without them knowing or understanding their purpose like adding more salt to the wound of an innocent existence.

Kennedy is disgusting. He's pretending that people want to abort healthy babies until the moment of birth. Abortion access is necessary because of problems that occur in pregnancy, not just in order to get rid of an unwanted baby. It's not a simply yes or no question and if you put a restriction on access, then women will not get the care they need, even if it is for medically necessary reasons to save the life of the mother.

Yeah. No woman gets an abortion within several weeks of delivery. No woman. At that point, the baby could be delivered via c-section and the situation handled appropriately from there. I'm not familiar with the proceedings in this video, but there are apparently some political issues taking place in the minds of the guests who couldn't answer the question.

Either they are opposed to late term abortions (in this case being up to the point of delivery), or they would agree to a provision under extreme circumstances that would allow it. Not much gray area in there from what I can determine.

The truth is that an infant can be delivered safely by induction or cesarean saving both the mother and infant's lives at 22 weeks. And one physician's personal experience is not reflective of the entirety of OBGYN care. The question being asked is in reference to the wording of the bill in front of the Senators. This is the situation that needs to be addressed. Diversion of the topic at hand by not answering the question is a typical ploy to avoid truth of facts. 50 years ago viability would be closer to 26-28 weeks gestation, decades from now neonatal care could conceivably be less than 20 weeks. The point of the bill at hand has to do more with termination of a full term viable infant than the fragile end of the gestational age spectrum.

It was a terrible question that forced someone to answer in a way they did not believe. She kept trying to give a nuanced answer that included if the pregnant woman's life was in danger and he would not let her answer. As she tried multiple times he just kept talking louder than she was. It was a terribly asked question that was a setup for future arguments.

If you are so concerned with taking extraordinary measures to circumvent the rights and will of the woman, then YOU should be prepared to adopt that child and shoulder the full financial burden of those extraordinary measures, including the months it's likely to be in NICU, years of special needs treatments (both physical and educational) likely to be needed.

The first sentence of the 14th amendment says, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.".... It's saying that if you're born on u.s. grounds that you're qualified as an American citizen. And if you're not born here then you're not a citizen. Nothing to do with assigning life itself, just citizenship.

there are situations where an abortion would save a womans life even a week out. We should not put the babies life above the woman's life in these situations. A uterus rupture, separation, or blockage is definitely life threatening, but it's not necessary to kill the baby. Severe preeclampsia and eclampsia can also be life threatening but again, there's no need to kill the baby. Maybe I'm just not a start enough doc. Please enlighten me and help me out here.

No, it is not. The intent of an abortion is to honor a woman's decision to stop providing her body to another being. It's simply the issue of bodily autonomy, both the woman's and the baby's. If the baby can be delivered at that moment (with the assumption that the baby can survive, perhaps with a help of an incubator), the mother should not have the right to deny the baby to be born. It would be a murder. On the other hand, if the baby cannot survive, it must not be the reason to force the woman to continue providing her body for baby's development any longer. There are already laws, and practice, which grant people the right to deny donating their body parts, even if it would save somebody's life. That should be the framework for laws on abortion.

Abortion is not a women's issue. The only issue concerning abortion is the right to life, period. Only the most selfish women think that it is about themselves. Children have the right to life and no one has the right to end a child's life. The baby has a separate body which is not the mother's body. The baby also has a father who may not want the mother to end his daughter's life. The father may not want the mother to end his son's life. Both the father and the child have rights, and only the most selfish women think otherwise.
