Actually he is technically correct. Remember at the end that the human revealed the enemy had given humans technology in exchange for ending the war. Humanity was playing both sides so...
Reminds me of a twilight zone style tv show where a rookie policewoman thought they were being invaded by monsters and starting blasting. Turns out it was all her imagination and they were building staff.
I'm reminded of a twilight zone like episode of a ship carrying a new planet ending bomb to their enemy's homeworld and they were tricked into launching it against Earth.

This reminds me of this 1990s Outer Limits episode. 'Charge of the Light Brigade' A human fleet with a planet killer weapon had an alien infiltrator on it that altered the navigational data so the fleet dropped the superbomb on Earth instead of the alien homeworld. Also the idiot captain saying there were no more use for the human warships while committing a super warlike act. They deserved what they got. In the end they were fair weather friends and it's good humanity in this story got as much use and value out of them as they did.
They did this to themselves thinking that they could pull a fast one on us of that scale and magnitude you know that's funny I imagine this is exactly how it would go in this situation we are crafty ones aren't we
As much as I want to root for humanity here, deflecting a genocide, in the end they were right though, right that our deviousness knows no bounds. While it's true that they were foolish on their attempt to try and kill us, their fears about us were absolutely correct though. They did not trust us, but were powerless to stop us. They just didn't realize it until it was too late. Humanity was going behind their back long before the order of genocide even came to be.
While it might be true to an extent I like to believe that there is still enough quote humanity go around he was given multiple chances and yet he chose the wrong ones in this case I will side with the rest of my species in this scenario they did this to themselves
All we want is friends is it too much to ask. Sure we did it but those are safety precautions after all your supplying this weapons and equipment to them it was a contract after all and any sane faction would put alot of precaution that those same supplied weapons and equipment are not being used and pointed towards back at them, its supposed to be expected eveb for them. It was never meant to be use to betray them and we were never suppose do it we never wanted this we were force to do it.
And we were right as well. When the big bully gets his hands on a gun, he won't stop shooting until he's alone on the playground, and the first person he'll go after is the only other person who might be armed. It was inevitable that after their biggest competition was eliminated, they'd go after the next one: humans. The king shits of piss mountain couldn't allow for anyone else to stand beside them, so we had no choice but to put our hands in every pocket, and replace what we found there with grenades.
The Humans shouldn't have reversed the strike; they just should have negated it. By the sounds of it; they had full control of the fleet systems; they just shouldn't yave let him fire, or redirected the fire to harmless areas or only strategic areas. At the end of the day, in this story humanity could have _prevented_ genocide, but apl they did was redirect it. I am dissapointed.
To earn a humans trust means we I’ll do anything for you. To break it we would do anything to you. A message needs to be made. Don’t betray humanity. We would already of seen it a mile away and prep for it. But if you continue being our Allie we will move haven and earth to help you.
The point of the entire thing is the conscience at the brink of hell. They showed they didn't have one by making the plan and then pulling the trigger. Also, these are ship that were fighting in a war. Micromanaging whether or not the guns could fire would have been a dumb decision given the alien engineers likely dismantled and maintained those themselves more than any other system. Tampering would have been easy to see, given "guns" are "straightforward". Lastly a redirect wouldn't have gotten the point across. Notice what their immediate response was. "Arrest everyone" what were they going to do to humanity again? "Genocide". There was no peace. There was no keeping your hands clean. There is no moral high ground when dealing with an existential threat. You either destroy it or it destroys you.
@@justsomejerseydevilwithint4606 And the Nation would continue on with the plan of human extinction because 1. it only proves the threat of humanity and 2. There goes all of humanity, because you wanted to pretend at being righteous.
You can never have to many failsafes. It's a shame really. Humanity just wanted friends. What. A. Shame.
He pulled the trigger. Yet he has the nerve to accuse humans of being untrustworthy.
He not only pulled the trigger he built the gun and pointed it.
We only saw it as a possibility and peeped counter messers hopping that it would not be used. We are a very paranoid species.
tbf, WE built the gun, then we fucked with the sights. But yeah. :D

The lesson to be learned. Terrans hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
The Terran phrase "fuck around and find out."
We gave them a choice. They chose to play and lost. Humanity is the house and the house always wins.
Unless you're Mr House .
So this is how a corporate conglomerate humanity would deal with aliens
True cunning indeed
Can you imagine a movie base on this from the Captains viewpoint, god damn horror story.

This is why you should make your own ships.
This is why you don't attack an enemy with their own ships on mass scale

I was just mentioning this in another comment. There was also prequel of the original human whose skin the alien was wearing
