- Jeff and I had nothing to do so we decided to construct our own bowling lane! This is how it turned out.
Special guests: Dave Koenig, Calan Bateman
Calan actually rolled a strike on the first ball he threw. He was even bowling with a broken collarbone!

Cheers brother, watches this when I was 8 when I found out about the video, now I'm 17 and remembering it. Ahhhh the memories...
Me too
I bet you have a lot of memories watching this video.
Drummachine YES! ALMOST CRYING! I am on a TH-cam Bowling Nostalgia Trip
Yup, the mid 2010s gave me.
Yeah, I used to scroll through playlists, searching up 'basement bowling', 'half scale bowling', 'bowling games' and other things
YESSSS! I also used to watch Curtis Fach's basement bowling videos as well as this video
Childhood too
Oh my lord, this video, this video right here. This is the video I saw when I was in elementary school, Holy shit. This video is the definition of nostalgia to me. Especially the," My turrr- " part. This was the best back then. I wonder what Randy and his friends are doing right now.
I'm still here! I work in baseball now and the other guy is overseas in the military! Thanks for coming back all these years later haha
Or “Im gonna knock them dead”
Hahaha I remember the Walmart videos
1:52 DAVE CONVERTED THE 7-10 SPLIT!!!

I used to watch this when i was 5, today i am 18 years old, crazy how time flies, this was my favorite video to watch and still is to this day!
I haven’t seen this video sense years and I watching it today
I remember watching this when I was little.
This was the best TH-cam Video I ever watched. This was the best! YEAH! #Bowling
I watched this when I was like 5... And I finally found it again... Gotta love those childhood memories
No idea why this just got recommended to me 14 years later but I love it
I been watching this since when i was like 3 years old alot of memories.
I remember when the video first came out
When TH-cam was so simple
oh my god this video is my whole childhood! Idk how many times I clicked on this video :D
Bro coming back to this video is '22... The memories... My favorite part is the fact that this ain't even in a backyard hahah. Also how is Dave gonna convert the 7-10 split before getting the pins leaving the 7-10
Old balls & Pins + Sheet Lumber + Tennis Court + Time Off from School + A Few Buddies = A Whole Lot of Fun!
It also makes the ball break more sharply because the ball has more energy stored. Oil makes the ball have much more hook in the back end. Without oil in the front, the ball burns out almost immediately and weakly rolls towards the direction it's rotating, instead of skidding towards the breakpoint you threw it at. So it actually curves less at the end of the pattern, where you want it to
1:08:
Oh, crap! That's not the ball!!!
*bowling ball crashes into fence*
Awwww... No pins! No bueno!
I am crying of nostalgia
I remember watching this video, OH THE MEMORIES!
Hahahahaha
The way the Bowling Ball bounces.
I come back after 9 years now im 15 , lot of memories
Bahaha I was like 5 years old when I first watched this, 17 now.. best of memories
1:54 7-10 pick up!

Oh yeah I didn't notice that
Vu Tang double middle finger pickup
1:37 - Ball hits the blue and knocks down 1 pin crazy!
I have memories with you comrade
I used to watch this when I was about 2 years old and I think to myself
It's been so long ago
I’m still having memories with this vid🥺
I love your lane
It funny how u constantly invite ppl hahah Made my day.
I used to watch this video so many times when I was in elementary now I’m 19 and in college. Damn how time flies by
Great guess! I actually worked for a bowling alley and they bought new pins so I took 40 home. They were also throwing away the balls I used. I would never use my own.
In actuality, if you don't have oil it hooks more. Oil makes the ball slide further before it breaks.
You can buy bowling pins in plenty of places. It just depends how well made you want them to be.
I used six 8' plywood boards. I had them trimmed to 40" wide because that is the actual width of a standard lane. In the end it 40 ft. long vs the standard 60 ft at a normal alley.
I just used a standard sheet of plywood.
Hope this helped!
My guess would be his local bowling center. They usually have a bunch of old, spare pins lying around behind the lanes.
That is so awesome you guys are so smart
Totally cool!
i remember watching this vid when i was 5, now im 18
That's cool Dave bowling barefoot. I do that at a regular bowling alley here and it's fun
I love bowling
Thunder Taylor Thompson evrryone doez
Aaaaaaaaah my childhood ❤
@TheSurvivalResource @donutsprinkles99 A bowling ball chips pretty easy, especially when it comes in contact with cement. The original plan was to try to preserve the balls but that fell short. I tried to get him to stop the ball the first throw as you heard by my yelling. And you definitely would need a new ball every other month if you did this every weekend.
No arguing guys haha.
@penguinshamrock Thanks! It's been over a year and it's still out in my shed!
Yeah they're actual pins from the bowling alley I used to work at
I have a real bowling ball but no bowling pins which sucks
@AnimeRooky There's no oil for it to slide so it just takes off once it hits the plywood. I mastered hooking buy the end of the day, the only problem is that it double bounces once it lands.
-Randy
Woot, that dude would have picked up the 7-10 split at 1:54! O_o
I remember this video when I was a little tottler
@jrpacman21 A normal lane is 60' and this is about 45', So it's actually shorter because there isn't any oil to keep it from breaking to far.
Amazon sales pins By the way great set up we are starting A back Alley Bowling club here in hawaii for outdoor bowling. you should think of starting your own group with the community. great video
@bieber11100 not that long. I think it 40 feet even? So maybe 2/3 the size of a normal lane. But we had it measured and cut to 40 inches wide to match a standard lane.
I searched homemade bowling lanes and found nostalgia
thats a huge backyard
Sooooooooooo cool i trid it and i loved it
i like this video!
00:01:07 oh crap there goes the ball
@c1l4c10n He dosn't seriously mean backyard bowling. He means like outside bowling because they are bored. You know what I mean. And they Are not dumb. And they know what awesome thing to do when they are bored.
you can hook the ball witout oil, not some major hook but somethin.
looks fun to do
MY TURN!!!!!!!!!
your turn
I used to watch this when i was 10, im 19
I appreciate you.
@sebz661 when we got new balls we discarded balls the ones that were cracking our had wear and tear that could mess up the lanes. Same thing with the pins.
Dave picked up the 7-10 split on the first roll
Cheetah Pattern to the MAX. ;)
@kevinatrask I did! Haha. But I had pre-drawn the spots the pins go beforehand so it only took about 20 seconds each time
I watched this when I was 5. I'm 15 now woah
@steelydanbowler If Dave could do that in real life, I'd probably buy him lunch!
-Randy
What Oiling Patten LOL
Nice!
I should try making one too :)
Memories..
Did you know? The balls don't break too much, also. This was made 6 years ago.
Is anyone watching this during Quarantine ?
Me
Randy Wesley, wow it’s been a while since you last commented lol. Glad you can Bowl or Practice during the time of COVID, unless if you still have the lane.
pour vegetable oil on the first 3/4th of the lane you have there and bowl and see if the ball goes like in a real lane.
Everyone should get this at home and charge 10 dollars
@mda40000 Since when did bowling balls ever get crusty? Not to mention one of them looked like a plastic ball which is nothing and one of them looked like a matte finish ball, which also doesn't mean anything to anyone that actually bowls.
Yep! Normally when I let go of the ball it drifts more towards the right 30 ft then breaks but you'll notice in the video that when I let it down the first time it instantly took off. Which is why I freaked out haha.
But you notice that Jeff/Dave/Calan don't hook their balls so they were unaffected.
*Random Fact* At the bowling alley we oil 40 ft so you'll know the ball doesn't end up hooking until the last 20 ft.
@YouthfulElf Agreed!!
@Nitro7676 Haha. I have a 190 average and that's why I got so surprised when the first ball I threw went off the lane! Forgot there was no oil to let it slide.
Glad you liked it!
Check out my other videos at youtube.com/ RandizzProductions
1:03 my turn!!!!
@MrWweman2009 Dave's a beast.
-Randy
Only problem is! resetting all the pins each time
@NFLNBA3000 Yeah. haha. It was the longest piece of flat land I could find!
1:08 oh man gutter ball
1:12 Oh
Awesome
2:34-2:37 Lucky!
@donutsprinkles99 I worked at a bowling alley when we filmed this and the balls where the ones they wanted to throw into the trash. (That's also how I got the pins) There's no way I'd use my own on this lane haha.
They will destroy their balls at this rate.
It looks so beautiful there, what's the park they are at called?
@c1l4c10n it's a neighborhood park behind my neighborhood. 'Backyard' is a little mis-leading
Dave picked the 7-10
Lol you guys needed some canola oil on the lane or something
i assume the lanes are oiled? lol cause that plastic ball wont hook lol
this is good dog
who is watching this in 2024
did anyone notice that dave made the 7-10 split
@RandysSecretChannel Make some wooden walls at the sides of the alley
@TheOnehandedwonder Like an hour or two. I have the wood and pins in my shed
1:04 MMMYYY TTTTUUUURRRn!
my name is Randy too XD
1 fuking million views
@yogocomedy Best way to think about it!
so what would happen if you tried to hook a ball on a real bowling ball lane that has no oil? would it just go left into the gutter half way down the lane?
@199rapper You know it!
